In this powerful episode, we address the heart-wrenching story of a betrayed partner whose marriage has been scarred by nearly two decades of emotional abuse, chronic dishonesty, and sexual betrayal. Despite having initiated divorce proceedings, she finds herself still seeking clarity and wondering if hope remains. Her husband, who continues to act out sexually while refusing meaningful recovery, tells her that she's overreacting and simply needs to “get over it.” We unpack the damaging impact of that dismissive attitude and the emotional exhaustion that comes when a partner's pain is ignored or minimized. We explore the reasons why sex and porn addicts often refuse to change—from deep-rooted denial and shame to emotional immaturity, fear, and pride. By understanding these psychological and relational patterns, partners can gain the clarity needed to make authentic, self-honoring decisions. At the same time, we emphasize that understanding the “why” does not mean excusing the behavior. The addict's refusal to grow or take accountability places a ceiling on the relationship and prevents the kind of healing and intimacy that both partners deserve.Ultimately, the question becomes not whether a betrayed partner wants to stay, but whether she can stay without losing herself. We outline the crucial role of boundaries—not as threats, but as life-saving tools to protect dignity and self-worth—and the essential need to rebuild identity, self-trust, and personal sovereignty. Whether a partner stays or leaves, the message is clear: you do not have to settle for pain, silence, or stagnation. You have the right to be seen, heard, and whole—and no, you don't need to “just get over it.” You deserve better. For a full transcript of this podcast in article format, go to: My Porn/Sex Addicted Partner tells me I just need to "Get over it" . . . Felipe Blue, LCAS, LCMHCA, CCS has created "Addicted to Surviving" which is a book and program from More Than Therapy, a non-profit organization, which explores the profound connection between past trauma and the development of compulsive and addictive behaviors. It posits that these behaviors are not personal failings but rather adaptive survival mechanisms that, while once necessary, can later hinder well-being. The text introduces trauma-informed care and practical healing tools, emphasizing self-regulation, resilience, and the importance of supportive relationships. Through a blend of scientific insights and personal narratives, the book guides readers toward understanding and transforming these deeply ingrained patterns, ultimately aiming for a life of conscious choice and thriving rather than mere survival. You can buy a copy for yourself and your agency at: https://amzn.to/4lHgr1y

If you've followed either sport, you know Todd's not just part of the conversation—he's helped shape it.Todd's won just about everything there is to win, and for years, he juggled both NRHA and NRCHA schedules like a total pro. In fact, he even showed the same horse—like the great Hickorys Holly Cee—in both the NRHA Futurity and the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity in the same year. Unreal. In this episode, we sit down with Todd for some classic stories, good laughs, and a look into what's next as he sets his sights on getting back into the reining pen. We also dig into what makes the cow horse world so addicting, and hear some seasoned perspective from one of the sport's most respected horsemen. It's real, it's fun, and it's packed with the kind of insight you only get from a guy who's been in the game this long—and still loves it.You're not going to want to miss this one.

Hypersexuality, overactive libido and sex addiction are just a few of many terms used to describe those who simply can't seem to get enough when it comes to sex. According to UK-Rehab.com, it's estimated that somewhere between 3% and 6% of adults in the country are addicted to sex. It might be a hot topic these days, but the concept only really surfaced in the late 1970s. The rise of the internet and online pornography is said to have fueled the phenomenon. So what is a sex addict? According to Healthline.com, “A person with sex addiction may significantly alter their life and activities in order to perform sexual acts multiple times a day and are reportedly unable to control their behavior, despite severe negative consequences.” How can you tell the difference between a healthy sexual appetite and a genuine sex addiction? Today's former participant is Kelly Wu. Kelly shares how as a raging teen with pent up emotion, her outward circumstances and outcomes began to reflect her inner turmoil. Her first attempt at treatment was unsuccessful due to the fact that she was still an adolescent who was being forced, without deciding she wanted it for herself, nor having the cognitive processing and brain development necessary to understand that it was good for her. Taking 10 years to obtain only a few credits at a 2-year community college, Kelly finally realized sobriety was something she wanted and was willing to work for.
