Exodus 16:15 (NIV) tells us, "When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, 'What is it?' For they did not know what it was." Isn't it interesting how often in our lives we may ask ourselves and one another, what is this,  just like the Israelites? Sometimes, we miss the hand of the Lord at work simply because it appears unfamiliar or doesn't align with our expectations. But here's a thought: perhaps God purposely shows up in these unexpected ways, challenging our perceptions and pushing us to depend on and seek Him more. Deciding to live a with Christ will inherently create a new normal for ourselves. As I've grown in my relationship with Jesus, my heart has changed but so has my life. When I decided to seek a deeper relationship with God, for a moment, I became focused on my identity in Christ as "performance-based".  Believing that my works qualified me for God's love lol. God made it very clear to me through scripture that He loves us for who we are and not what we do. God is love. Let's face it... we've all experienced failure. In college, I was put on academic probation my second semester and nearly failed multiple gen ed courses (YIKES). There were moments when I wanted to give up but God was preparing me for what He had in store.
