Have you ever decluttered a room only to watch it fill back up three months later? If so, this episode of the Clutter Free Podcast is for you. Kathi Lipp sits down with Katy Joy Wells, host of the Maximized Minimalist podcast with over 5 million downloads, to explore why traditional decluttering methods often fail—and what actually works for those who struggle with emotional attachment to their stuff. What Listeners Will Discover In this conversation, Kathi and Katy dive deep into the psychology behind clutter, examining why some people can easily let things go while others find themselves paralyzed by a simple organizing decision. The Four Types of Clutter Katy introduces her framework of the four clutter types that keep most homes stuck: Superficial Clutter – The easy stuff with no emotional attachment (only 10-15% of most homes' clutter) Scarcity Clutter – Fear-based items kept "just in case" Sentimental Clutter – Items tied to memories and meaningful moments Identity Clutter – Things connected to who you used to be or aspire to become Understanding Your "Stuff Story" Listeners will learn about the three pillars that shape their relationship with belongings: historical influences from caregivers, personal experiences, and cultural messaging. This awareness creates the foundation for lasting change. How Clutter Affects Your Nervous System The conversation reveals how the average American home contains over 300,000 items—and how this visual chaos triggers stress responses, elevated cortisol, and feelings of overwhelm that have nothing to do with willpower or motivation. Key Takeaways The goal isn't a Pinterest-perfect home—it's a "good enough home" that serves your real life Knowing something is clutter doesn't automatically mean you can let it go Environment shapes behavior: changing your space changes your choices Meeting overwhelming thoughts with curiosity instead of judgment unlocks progress You can be sentimental AND have a simplified home This episode offers hope and practical strategies for anyone who has tried and failed at traditional decluttering methods. It's time to stop blaming yourself and start understanding the real reasons clutter has such a hold on your life.

Feel to Heal with Sharyn Nichols Worry can feel productive—like you're thinking things through, preparing, or staying in control. But often, it's just a loop your mind gets stuck in, trying to solve uncertainty by overthinking it. The more you try to figure everything out, the harder it becomes to feel settled. In this episode, we explore what worry actually is and why it's so difficult to stop. You'll learn how the mind uses worry as a way to create a false sense of control, why uncertainty fuels repetitive thinking, and how this pattern keeps you disconnected from what's really going on underneath. This conversation will help you begin to see worry not as something to fight—but as something to understand. In this show, Sharyn Nichols, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and integrative guide, offers grounded insight and compassionate guidance to help you move out of the worry loop and reconnect with what you're actually feeling—so you can begin to experience more clarity and calm. Mothers carry burdens that weigh heavily on their hearts, including worries about their family members, their finances, if they’re good enough, the past, the future, and more. We have to stop worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet — instead, we need to pray about it and give it to God. He never intended for us to carry these burdens alone; we have to let go of what we can't control, stop worrying, and let God take over. In this week’s sermon, Valerie Butler reminds us that real faith isn't about having all the answers; it's about trusting God's plan even when we aren't in the driver's seat. Just like Carrie Underwood, there are times when we have to say, “Jesus take the wheel. Take it from my hands.” Together, we’ll discover six steps toward letting go of our worries and giving them to God, which is one of the most freeing and challenging things we can do.

The field of somatics has one uncomfortable truth most people aren't ready to hear: you cannot think your way out of trauma or chronic stress. If the stress response of the body never gets discharged through physical movement, your body stays on high alert. Some people still write somatics off as “woo-woo”. That gap between what the science actually says and what people assume is exactly why I wanted to go deeper with Liz Tenuto, better known as The Workout Witch. Liz holds a degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, is certified in Pilates and Reiki, and spent six years being mentored in the Feldenkrais Method under Augusta Moore. She got herself off beta blockers for anxiety using the same somatic exercises she now teaches. In part two of this three-part Fitness Friday series with Liz, she breaks down the actual science, Polyvagal Theory, the psoas muscle, why betrayal trauma has a biological address in your body, and why your nervous system is still running an operating system designed for surviving predators, not inbox anxiety. If you have ever felt stuck in stress no matter what you try, this is the episode that explains exactly why. What's Discussed: (0:00) How Liz grew to 4.8 million followers and who her audience really is. (1:01) Why somatics bridges the gap where doctors just tell you it's stress. (1:48) How Liz got off beta blockers for anxiety using somatic exercises. (3:12) What somatics can actually help with and how it works for sleep. (9:11) The science behind somatics and how your body stores stress physically (13:33) How trauma gets stored as subconscious muscle tension and shows up as pain. (16:52) Liz's personal story: how quitting dance made her chronic pain worse, not better. (27:05) Sleep positions that reveal your stress state: T-REX ARMS, mountain climber, extreme fetal. (33:21) The psoas muscle: the muscle of the soul and its role as a first responder in fight or flight. (35:13) The gentle 18-day protocol Liz uses before ever touching the psoas. Have you ever walked past something — a park, a pair of tiny shoes, a photo on the fridge — and felt that sudden ache of a season that's gone? That's where this episode starts. Christie was walking her dog when she passed a neighborhood park where her boys used to play, and the grief hit her out of nowhere. Not grief over something bad. Grief over something beautiful that simply isn't anymore. And then her brain did what it always does — it connected it to you. To the women she works with who are afraid to let go of alcohol because they're grieving it before they've even quit.In this episode, Christie unpacks why that grief is real, what you're actually going to miss (and what you're not), and the one reframe that changes everything: drinking didn't make you more yourself. Untangling yourself from alcohol will.IN THIS EPISODEWhy grief is a completely normal — and actually appropriate — part of letting go of alcoholThe park moment: Nathan, Andrew, and Ben, and what one walk taught Christie about missing a seasonThe minivan reel that broke her heart a little (you've seen it, you know the one)What you're really going to miss vs. what you think you're going to miss — and why those are very different thingsThe identity lie: why so many women drink to feel like themselves, and why it's working against themThe neuroscience of why alcohol feels like relief — and why that feeling is a trickWhat it looks like when a woman finally comes back into focusPermission to grieve AND keep goingDrop us a Question or CommentIf you have ever...Struggled with the social pressures associated with alcohol use.Felt isolated, alone, and unsure of how to break the cycle.Experienced shame and frustration after drinking.Told yourself, “I'll never get this. She Speaks To Inspire: Public Speaking Growth For Introverted Women
You finish speaking… and then it starts. Replaying what you said. Second-guessing your words. Wondering how it landed. In this episode, we're talking about the habit of overthinking after you speak—and how it slowly chips away at your confidence. Because the more you analyze the past, the more you hesitate and hold back the next time. This pattern often comes from a desire to avoid saying the wrong thing or being judged. But trying to control the past only keeps you stuck. So what's the shift? Learning to let it go. In this episode, I'll walk you through a simple way to move out of the post-speaking spiral—so you can stop overthinking, come back to the present, and build more trust in your voice. In this episode, you'll learn: Why you keep replaying what you said—and how it affects your confidence How to reflect on your speaking without spiraling into overthinking How to shift your focus forward and trust yourself more the next time If you've ever left a conversation or presentation stuck in your head… this episode is for you. We’re in the home stretch — and this episode might be the most unexpected one yet. As the Bible Moms series winds down, Kate and Rebecca play the most fun trivia game of the season (Jochebed’s theme song is Let It Go and we will not be taking questions), before landing on the woman — or rather, the Person — behind every mother’s heart. In Luke 13, Jesus compares himself to a hen gathering her chicks under her wings. That image didn’t come from nowhere. The longing you feel to pull your kids close, to protect them, to keep them safe? Jesus had it first. And he hardwired it into you. In This Episode Bible Moms trivia that will make you want to binge the whole series Luke 13: what Jesus reveals about his own heart through the image of a mother hen Why your instinct to gather, protect, and intercede for your kids mirrors the heart of God What to do when your kids walk into something you can’t control Psalm 91 as a prayer for every overwhelmed mom What’s coming this summer: Summer in Psalms Scripture Luke 13 — Jesus laments over Jerusalem; the hen and her chicks Psalm 91:1–4 — shelter, feathers, wings, and faithful promises What’s Next Summer in Psalms is coming — a new seasonal series to keep you tethered to the Word all summer long. In this episode of the Unapologetically Rich Show, Shamina Taylor gets real about one of the most overlooked wealth blockers in business and in life. The things you are holding on to that you already know need to go. Whether it is a team member you have been meaning to let go for months, a relationship that expired long ago, or a story from the past that is still quietly occupying space in your present, Shamina breaks down why holding on is not loyalty or love. It is a landing pad problem. When you are filling the space with what no longer serves you, there is nowhere for the abundance to land. Shamina shares her own raw experience and what happened the moment that person left. A volcano of cash. A quantum leap. Money coming in within days that most people do not see in a year. And the lesson she will never forget about trusting her instincts the first time. This episode is equal parts business strategy and inner work, because how you hold on in one area of your life is how you hold on everywhere. Your team, your relationships, your money. It is all connected. In this episode you will discover: Why the universe cannot deliver what you are asking for when you have no space to receive it How holding on to the wrong team member is directly blocking your cash flow and opportunities Why the patterns you run in your relationships show up identically in your business What happened when Shamina finally let go and the quantum leap that followed How to trust your instincts the first time instead of giving second and third chances that cost you Why comfort is one of the most expensive things a high-achieving woman can afford What to ask yourself right now if you know there is someone in your life or business it is time to release The only thing standing between you and the next level might not be a strategy. It might be the thing you already know you need to let go of.
Letting go is not easy when you're the kind of person who loves hard, builds hard, and stays loyal to what you started. But in this episode of The Estherpreneur Podcast, I'm sharing why I had to let it go—because I realized something: You can't step into new fruit while you're holding onto old weight.I talk about the emotional side of release, the difficulty of walking away from things that feel comfortable, and how pruning can feel like loss even when it's actually preparation for expansion. We'll also confront the tension between internal conviction and external pressure—the push to follow trends, gurus, and noise, even when the Spirit is leading you differently. If you've been forcing momentum, this episode will help you stop wrestling and start discerning. The Estherpreneur Podcast is for CEOs, founders, and faith-driven entrepreneurs who are growing—but something feels misaligned. Episode Summary: Are you weary from constantly striving, juggling endless responsibilities, and living at a pace that leaves you burned out and exhausted? You’re not alone. In this episode of Your Hope-Filled Perspective, I’m joined by Dr. Portia Preston, a public health expert, two-time TEDx speaker, and author of Hustle, Flow, or Let It Go? Her compassionate, shame-free approach to wellness helps us release hustle culture and create sustainable wellness so we can live with greater balance, peace, and joy. Quotables from the episode: This chronic stress is when I lose connection with myself. That's really the best way I know. Where am I in relation to myself and the things that I value most? If I am being irritable in my relationships, something's off. Because these are people that I love. If you had asked me a decade ago about my experience with burnout, I would have pointed directly to my career. And always feeling like it was on me to provide because who else would do it? But it's only been in recent years when I've found that burnout extends to all facets of my life. Surrender isn't about what you can do. The to-do list narrows our perspective. It's asking us to show up as the person who does these things. So immediately we are taken out of connection with our reality and our capacity. And we've been conditioned to say, well, that's the way that it should be. So, if what I have today doesn't measure up to that, then I'm the problem. And I'm not saying the list is bad. There is a saying that says that we are human beings, not human doings. You were born with worth. That it was a part of you. And it's not something that can be taken away from you. God never designed us to go full speed all the time. And recognizing the rhythm of the seasons frees us to honor time of work and time of rest. Scripture References: Isaiah 30:15 (NLT) “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.’” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NRSV) “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Recommended Resources: Hustle, Flow, or Let It Go? Welcome to Building Brand You™, the podcast that helps you accelerate your success by unlocking your greatest asset – you. KEY TAKEAWAYS The key to creating impact beyond you is to make your story referrable - letting it go and putting it into the hands of others. Making space for others to be part of creating, shaping and sharing the story that you feel so connected to is essential, but often the most challenging. If you're not articulating your story simply and clearly, others are never going to be able to share it with others. Repetition - consistently, frequently and over time - is what it takes to build both your storytelling muscle as well as a set of impactful 'back-pocket' stories that are resonant, relevant and referrable time and time again. ABOUT KYM HAMER: Kym is an international leadership and personal branding thought leader, an executive coach, and a programme design and facilitation practitioner. She is also the creator of Building Brand You™ - a methodology helping organisations, teams, and individuals to build reputation, presence, and gravitas. Kym works with leaders - both individually and in organisational development initiatives - to inspire and engage thinking styles and behaviour that achieve results and leave legacy. In 2020, just one year after launching her business, she was nominated by Thinkers360 as one of the Top 100 Women B2B Leadership influencers and is currently in the Top 10 Personal Branding and Top 10 Marketing Influencers in the world. For 6 years running Kym has also been one of Thinkers360's Top 10 Thought Leaders on Entrepreneurship and in 2023, 2024 and 2025, was recognised as one of their Top Voices globally. She has been part of Homeward Bound Projects faculty since 2020, a global initiative reaching 1.8 billion people, equipping women and non-binary people with a STEMM background to lead conversations for a sustainable future. She is currently the Program Design and Faculty Lead for the 10th on-line cohort and was part of the on-board faculty who voyaged to Antarctica in 2023 and 2025, to deliver the initiative's immersive component. In between all of these things, you'll find her curled up in a corner with her nose in a book. In this episode of Over 50 and Flourishing, I sit down with Erin Washington for a conversation about diet culture, perfectionism, and identity.Erin Washington is a former Division I soccer player whose identity was rooted in athletics from the age of four. After her college career ended abruptly, she spent twenty years battling body image struggles and hiding a painful secret before ultimately committing to healing and sharing her story in her book From Pain to Purpose. We talk about the pressure to achieve, the connection between being the “good girl” or oldest daughter and perfectionism, and how so many high-performing women quietly tied their worth to their bodies. We also explore listening to your hunger cues after years of restriction, the role of stress and cortisol in midlife, modeling confidence for our daughters, navigating divorce after finding purpose later in life, and why growth can sometimes change a marriage. If you or anyone you know is struggling with an eating disorder or disordered eating, you're not alone. A Scottish ferryman refused to take travelers across the water after dark — and the ones who stayed the night were never seen again. | #WDRadio WEEK OF FEBRUARY 22, 2026==========HOUR ONE: A 178-year-old mystery comes to the surface in a Philadelphia suburb. (Grandfather's Ghost Story Leads to Mass Grave) *** Recently a wrecking crew began tearing down and old building in Rhode Island. But the big burly men on the crew got so frightened they refused to continue the work. Does reconstruction of a home or building anger the souls who once lived there? (Does Remodeling Your Home Disturb The Spirits Who Died There?) *** The way life has grown on our planet requires that all living things feed off each other and must kill others in order to survive. That's the way of the world if you want to live for any more than a few days. But some people are now claiming they can live without food at all… indefinitely. (Life Without Food) *** Three men were in a shed selling gardening supplies when some strange powder suddenly hit the ceiling. Before they had time to react, a small jug on a shelf abruptly flew across the room. One man picked up the jug and placed it a covered box. Instantly, the jug was...somehow...back on the floor. And that was just the beginning of the strange haunting of a community's garden shed. (The Poltergeist In The Allotment Shed) *** In the movie Salt, Angelina Jolie plays a double-agent who is mind-controlled by scary remnants of the USSR secret service. And in real life, the 1940s bombshell Candy Jones was apparently brainwashed with drugs and used as a CIA covert operative. (The Supermodel Who Was Brainwashed Into Becoming a Spy) *** No one knows exactly when she was born. Some think, maybe, she was a gypsy. Others say she was the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter. The life of Elizabeth Barnes is a mysterious one, filled with many loves, losses, and prognostications. (The Witch of Plum Hollow) *** Some travelers, arriving late at night to board Oliver's Ferry the next day, stayed at Oliver's house. But they were never seen making the ferry crossing the next morning. Is it possible that the rumors are true – that they never left the house alive? (The Frights of Oliver's Ferry)==========HOUR TWO: An eerie tombstone stands watch over one of Portland Oregon's oldest cemeteries. And the story behind that tombstone is a strange one. (The Guardians of Lone Fir Cemetery) *** Don't take a gift from Little Gracie's grave... or her life-like statue might cry tears of blood. (The Ghost of Gracie Watson) *** When it came to her daughter's Elsa doll, one mom was eager and ready to “Let It Go”. But the doll supernaturally refused to be let go! (Haunted Elsa Doll) *** An ancient stone cross is said by locals to be cursed, and the curse infects anyone who dares to disrespect it. (Curse of the Saxon Stone Cross) *** Christopher Slaughterford was seemingly a completely ordinary young Englishman – but he has earned an unenviable place in the legal books. (T he Trials of Christopher Slaughterford) *** Two authors reported a very strange encounter with a mysterious entity they believed was not of this world. What did they see and why were they under the impression this being was not of this world? (An Author's Encounter With A Not-Of-This-World Entity)==========SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME: For Allen Taylor, January 15, 1919 was just another day on his farm near Prescott, Iowa. That is, until his 15-year-old neighbor Irene Hoskins came stumbling down the lane with a gash in the side of her head. (The Hoskins Family Murders) *** How did someone get the job of an executioner in medieval times? We'll find out! (To Become An Executioner) ==========SOURCES AND REFERENCES FROM TONIGHT'S SHOW:“Schoolhouse Demon Attack” from Paranormality Magazine“Grandfather's Ghost Story Leads to Mass Grave” by Meghan Rafferty for CNN: https://tinyurl.com/ravfceh“Does Remodeling Your Home Disturb The Spirits Who Died There?” by Kelly Roncace for NJ.com: https://tinyurl.com/sn7vpsg“Life Without Food” by Michael Grosso for Consciousness Abound: https://tinyurl.com/r38yxh6“The Poltergeist In The Allotment Shed” from Strange Company: https://tinyurl.com/vzlgcj9“The Supermodel Who Was Brainwashed Into Becoming a Spy” by Annalee Newitz for Gizmodo: https://tinyurl.com/sgh73da“The Witch of Plum Hollow” by James Morgan for North Country Public Radio: https://tinyurl.com/u3x3sxu“The Frights of Oliver's Ferry” by Ken Watson for Rideau-Info: https://tinyurl.com/vj96awj==========(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content.
