You've probably partied in one of his venues or knocked back one of his drinks, yeah, he's the guy behind Wet Pussy. In this episode, Danny Grant lays it all out. From getting flogged in business and being dead broke to backing himself hard and building a multi-million dollar comeback. No BS. No fluff. Just the kind of story you don't hear often unless you're tuning in to his Danny Rants pod, which has exploded for a reason. This one's not about getting lucky. It's about betting on yourself when everyone else thinks you're done.
Today we tell the story of the battle over the Tellico Dam, the last major project of the Tennessee Valley Authority. TVA's ambitious plans for the Tellico project included not only a dam and lake but also the development of a brand-new city to be called Timberlake. However, the project faced fierce resistance from landowners who were being forced to sell their land, the Cherokee, whose most important Overhill towns were going to be flooded by the dam, and environmentalists trying to save the habitat of the endangered snail darter fish. A lawsuit over the fish won a victory in the Supreme Court for those wanting to stop the Tellico Dam, but that wasn't the end of the story, as you'll find out in this episode. Not every season is for pushing. In this episode, I'm talking about why the slower pace of summer isn't a sign that we're falling behind—it's actually a key part of growing our firms with intention. These quieter months give us rare breathing room to reassess, reset, and realign.I'm sharing how we treat summer at Little Fish Accounting like a business strategy retreat. We use this time to dig into what tax season taught us, refine our internal systems, and support our clients in doing the same.
