Pathfinder Church | July 13, 2025 | AJ MasticIn the USA, the word “church' usually means a place where we can attend worship; that we might be a member of. If the church is supposed to be a place for deeper human connection, why do those of us who attend still feel disconnected and alone? The Busses are joined again by Mongolian sisters, Lois Wang and Annie Halberg, with an amazing story of God turning an awful thing into a glorious testimony. After many years working in a financial establishment in Communist China, Lois discovered that her company had been embezzling money from the Chinese government. Despite Lois's innocence, she had been chosen as the scapegoat and was sent to a Chinese prison for some years. But God used Lois to bring the Gospel to many prisoners who were desperate for Him, and before she was freed, more than a hundred women were baptized and sharing the Jesus with others! You will love this beautiful story! Also, stick around for a special bonus at the end! Annie, Lois, and Sharon had a powerful time of repentance and intercession at Convention 2025 for China and the US. Interview begins at 12:48.Ayala Fader is a professor of anthropology at Fordham University. Her research investigates contemporary North American Jewish identities and languages and engages key issues at the intersection of religion, Jewish Studies, gender, and linguistic anthropology, including language and media. In a world where we're constantly trying to prove ourselves—morally, spiritually, even socially—Romans 3:19-31 offers good news: we can stop striving and start trusting. This passage confronts the futility of earning righteousness through the law and reveals the heart of the gospel—God makes us right with Him not through our performance, but through faith in Jesus. Whether you feel burdened by guilt or prideful in your goodness, this message invites you to rest in the righteousness that only God provides.Scripture:Romans 3:19-31Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org

Papa Jim's life had a tumultuous start. And one night in his late thirties when he was contemplating ending his own life, he had an amazing encounter with his Heavenly Father and Jim was changed forever.Papa Jim shares stories of how God is moving in the lives of the people he encounters in his community as he lives out his mission to share the love of our Heavenly Father with a world that needs Him so desperately.EMAIL: feedback@globaloutpouring.orgWEBSITE: https://globaloutpouring.net Upcoming Events:Generation Awakening Youth and Young Adult Retreat 2025School of the Supernatural – Translation by Faith 2025 Related Links:Podcast Episode 268: “Outpouring that Changed a Community of Gangs” with Sandy and Princess JensenPodcast Episode 269: “Transformed by Jesus for Revival from Molestation, Drugs, Violence, and Prison” with Richard and Sarah TeTau CONNECT ON SOCIAL MEDIAGlobal Outpouring Facebook PageGlobal Outpouring on InstagramGlobal Outpouring YouTube ChannelGlobal Outpouring on X
In Romans 3:21-30 Paul says God's righteousness has been revealed. Jesus Christ has been put forward as the new mercy seat, establishing the sacred, tabernacling presence of God on planet earth once again and empowering the formation of a just community. This is no arbitrary venting of wrath - this is the restoration of the human vocation so that God's purposes can be fulfilled... and that is what we call justice.Scripture:Romans 3:21-31Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
In this episode, VSC Education and Prevention Manager Oliva discusses the intersection between substance use and trauma. The relationship between substance use and victimization is complex and deeply intertwined. Research shows that people who have experienced sexual violence are more likely to develop substance use disorder – often as a way to cope with their trauma. At the same time, those who struggle with substance abuse are often at a higher risk of being victimized. This cycle can be incredibly difficult to break but healing, recovery and empowerment is all possible. First guest being interviewed is Sarah Shoulak, founder of Sober Betties – a social group that brings people together for alcohol free-experiences in a fun, retro-inspired atmosphere. Sarah's journey of sobriety is one of resilience and transformation. They are using their story to help others find joy and community without alcohol. Second guest being interviewed is Heather Parker – an Outreach Specialist from Recovery Connections of Central Florida. Recovery Connections is a peer-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting people in recovery. We've shared beach days in Port O'Connor, a family vacation to Mexico, and even taught him how to drive (shoutout to Frank for being the brave teacher!). My 10-year-old son absolutely adores him, and saying goodbye is going to be so hard.Today, he joins me on the podcast before flying back home with his parents. We're talking about everything—from the cultural differences he noticed, to his favorite memories, and how this experience has shaped who he's becoming. This is a reminder that family is about so much more than blood—it's about love, shared experiences, and the people who change us for the better.WAYS TO GET INFO ABOUT HOSTING AN EXCHANGE STUDENT ~Email - Dawn.leighton@efexchangeyear.orgWebsite - efexchangeyear.org/iec/dawn-leightonTHANK YOU TO THIS WEEK'S SPONSOR ~

In this episode we discuss: Why do so many of us choose the countercultural life of Orthodox Judaism? What leads someone to leave a religious community—or seek out a more insular one? How do we create a Jewish world that is sticky, rich, and spiritually nourishing? Tune in to hear a conversation about why we leave Jewish communities and, maybe more importantly, why we stay. Interview begins at 9:29.Moshe Krakowski is a professor at the Azrieli Graduate School for Jewish Education and Administration at Yeshiva University, where he also directs Azrieli's doctoral program. He studies American Haredi education and culture, focusing on the relationship between communal worldview, identity, and education. Peter Snyder has been a missionary in countries all over the world for over 40 years, and in that time, Peter has watched the era of traditional missions work come to an end. As more and more people in the nations are coming to Christ, indigenous groups are now leading the way in spreading the Gospel in their own lands—hallelujah! So where does that leave us? Peter shares amazing insights from his recent trip to Mongolia and highlights the urgent need for spiritual fathers, teachers, and intercessors to help the international Church continue the work of the Gospel. So, be encouraged! You still have a part to play! We have all sinned, we all fall under God and we can't look down on anyone else. Those who follow the law are condemned by the law that they can't keep, those who follow their own standards fail their own standards. But He also crushes us, and we don't like that part so much. So why does He allow us to be crushed? What good could possibly come out of it? What does our crushing have to do with crushing our enemy? Join the Busses for this deeply meaningful discussion. There are times in all our lives when we feel like we're being crushed, and you may be in one of those seasons now.
