Tomas har spanat in den splitternya filmen från Kathryn Bigelow, A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE. Vad sägs om filmer som Jurrasic Park, Schindlers List, Groundhog Day, Falling Down, Sleepless In Seattle, Cliffhanger och många, många fler filmer. Med andra ord, en förrätt, huvudrätt och dessert. Låt det väl smaka.
Hello to you listening from wherever your feet touch the ground on this Halloween which has roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced SOW in) which marked the end of summer and the harvest and begins the darker half of the year.Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, the Witch of Whidbey.Over these past 6 weeks (as I do every year) I've been retracing in my journal and my memories the pilgrimage I walked on the Camino de Santiago. By this time back then I was leaving Finisterre, Spain bound for uncertain transition and re-entry into life back in the States. “Look to the Helpers” showed up as the prevailing theme in this year's “trek along the Buen Camino.” No matter how lost or uncertain, cold, wet, tired, or hungry there was always someone or something to show me the way, the next step. Maybe the Camino's yellow arrow, maybe Camino magic, maybe a stranger - how often we pilgrims relied on the kindness of strangers. In turn, we learned how to give a hand up to one another because Each One Lift One is a lesson the Camino deeply ingrains.Something I've not thought of in decades came to mind as I mused on Helpers. I'd been given a brand new shiny emerald green big girl 2-wheeler bicycle for my 7th birthday. The first I'd ever owned. Now I'd have to learn how to ride it.It was cold that New Jersey February. I remember dad holding the back of the bike seat steadying the bike as I learned to balance, keep it upright, steer down the concrete sidewalk. Once I got the hang of it I peddled a short way, and then a little longer, dad's fingers still on the rear of the bike seat until he let go and there I went wobbling but upright, making my way down the sidewalk. I was riding a 2-wheeler bike! That's been my life from that day to this: testing my balance, falling down 7, getting up 8, gaining confidence. But never alone. The Helpers in my life, always there, holding, steadying, letting go, and watching with pride! There she goes! That's our girl! All attitude, sass, class and adventure ready for what's next. What's next was washing up on the shores of Whidbey Island to become the Witch of Whidbey. Still finding my way, orienting my True North compass, looking to the Helpers.Story Prompt: What about you? How have you traveled Life's roads? Who are your Helpers? Write that story and tell it out loud! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Pastor Andrew Fortuine preaches from Luke 19:1-10, “Walls Are Still Falling Down.” —————————— […]
In this episode, the boys discuss the passing of Robert Redford, Only Murders, Peacemaker and Stan Lee AI.
This week we leap with sound editor Charles L. Campbell to 1993 action drama Falling Down. Scott could have chosen Spielberg or John Williams as our leaper but instead went in this direction. We discuss this film and more and hope you enjoy.

Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the pages of scripture and let the Word point us to the Living Word—Jesus himself. In today's episode for September 30th, our host Hunter invites us to warm our hearts by the fires of God's love as we read from Zechariah 7–9 and Luke 13. We'll witness powerful prophecies of restoration and hope in Zechariah, and hear Jesus challenge our assumptions about tragedy and repentance in Luke. As Hunter reflects, the headlines of both the ancient and modern world often declare that "the world is falling down," but Jesus brings good news—a kingdom that is rising up in the midst of brokenness. With gentle encouragement, Hunter leads us to consider our own need for God's renewing grace, to trust in the hope he offers, and to join in prayer for our world, our families, and our own hearts. So whether this is your first day or your twelfth year with us, settle in as we center our lives on the One who holds all things together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The world is falling down. Those are the headlines—then and now. Tragedy, disaster, violence—they fill the news and our lives with sorrow and confusion. When Jesus looked at the headlines of his own day, he spoke of Galileans killed by Pilate, and of people crushed when a tower fell in Siloam. He posed the question many of us have probably wondered: Were their suffering and deaths the sign that they were the worst sinners? Was this God's judgment against them, or a measure of their worth in God's eyes? But Jesus turns our thinking upside down. He tells us no, their suffering was not because they were the worst, or because God didn't care, or that they were unimportant to Him. The world is broken, Jesus says. Towers fall, tragedy strikes, death comes—sometimes seemingly at random, sometimes to the pious and sometimes to the publican. This is the world we inhabit: a world fallen, groaning, filled with loss. But Jesus is not content just to comment on the news. He proclaims something entirely new: The kingdom of God is rising up. Where the world falls, God's kingdom grows. The kingdom is like a gardener, patient with a barren fig tree, tending it, waiting for fruit. It's like a woman bent over for eighteen years, suddenly raised up and set free. It's like a tiny mustard seed that grows into a tree, so large that the birds can make their nests there. It's yeast, small and hidden at first, yet permeating the whole loaf. Jesus brings good news into this falling world. He goes to Jerusalem; He is lifted up on a cross for this very reason—that the world, broken and lost, could be made new. He offers hope: not just for the world, but for each of us, for our own broken souls. He calls us to repent, to turn to Him, to let Him meet our needs and restore what is shattered in us. This is our invitation—to center our lives on the good news of Jesus, to trust Him and join Him in His mission. We can participate with Him: shining light in the darkness, extending mercy and justice, and bearing witness to the kingdom rising up in a world that so desperately needs it. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. That's a prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, and my son. And that's a prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. How'd you say in German: “Watch out, the cup is falling down!”?
Brittany Weinberger is the author of a fascinating book called "Whispers in the Cradle: Uncovering the Dark Side of English Nursery Rhymes". Jamie and John met Brittany at CrimeCon, and they HAD to have her on to talk about the book.Buy "Whispers in the Cradle" here! https://amzn.to/41LVI52Follow Brittany online!Instagram: @tinybrit05TikTok: @tiny_bit05Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1373152197067111Book Description:How could something as innocent as “London Bridge is Falling Down” carry the weight of destruction and death? Why does “Ring Around the Rosie” feel eerily like a whispered funeral dirge? And who—or what—really inspired “The Muffin Man”? With each page, I peeled back the layers of folklore and unearthed stories of political intrigue, forbidden faiths, brutal punishment, and untold tragedy. This isn't just a collection of familiar tunes—it's a descent into the shadowy corners of history, where nursery rhymes served as coded messages, laments, and warnings. They speak of kings toppled, children exploited, families torn apart, and lives consumed by fire, famine, and fear. These songs were never as innocent as they seemed. If you think you know nursery rhymes, think again. Whispers in the Cradle will shatter everything you thought you understood about the melodies of your childhood. Some truths are too dark to stay buried, and some whispers too haunting to ignore. --For early, ad free episodes and monthly exclusive bonus content, join our Patreon! Tonight on Triple Feature we are doing a director focus on Joel Schumacher. We are reviewing The Lost Boys, Falling Down and 8mm!Most people only remember Joel Schumacher for Batman & Robin. Neon lights, Bat-nipples, toy commercials. He did what Warner Bros. told him to do, and he got crucified for it. But if you actually look at his career, Schumacher wasn't a hack. He was a stylist with something to say—especially about male power.Take The Lost Boys. It looks like a teenage power fantasy—motorcycles, leather jackets, eternal youth. But it's really about the seduction of that brotherhood, and how it traps you. Then Falling Down. A middle-aged man, angry at the world, trying to take back control. It feels like vigilante wish-fulfillment, but Schumacher shows it as a breakdown. Male power here isn't noble—it's pathetic and dangerous. And finally 8MM. The darkest version: power as voyeurism, where wealthy men turn suffering into a commodity. No fantasy, no cool factor—just exploitation laid bare.Put together, these three films form Schumacher's real trilogy. They're about how men chase power, how it seduces them, and how it destroys them. And that's a far richer legacy than just being the guy who put nipples on the Batsuit.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.politix.fmThis week, we're reassessing both the resiliency of the economy, and the health of U.S. democracy. Why? Because recent data suggests Donald Trump's reactionary policy blitz (global tariffs, mass deportation) has caused the economy to seize up; and Trump has responded by trying to kill the messengers. In this episode you'll hear all about:* What the recent jobs numbers actually say, and how do they gel with other recent data;* Sydney Sweeney;* Why data pointing to a slowdown, if not a contraction, fits the facts of Trump's erratic agenda;* The bull and the bear theories of the case: Could the economy somehow continue growing despite all this? Would Trump be freaking out like this if he thought the economy was firing on all cylinders? Then, behind the paywall, is a recession the sort of thing Trump could even theoretically bullshit his way out of? Or would reality break through? What would a “recession coverup” attempt actually look like, given the complexity of the data? And what's Trump likely to do if and when his excuses and lies stop selling? All that, plus the full Politix archive are available to paid subscribers—just upgrade your subscription and pipe full episodes directly to your favorite podcast app via your own private feed.Further reading:* Brian on why Trump's reaction to the jobs report is of a piece with broader signs that he and his administration are spiraling.* Matt notes Argentina's recent economic successes are attributable to Javier Milei's decision to abandon an unworkable agenda.* Dean Baker breaks down why the jobs news is so bad.

We are celebrating the 30 year anniversary of one of Pearl Jam's most memorable tour runs from the summer of 1995. There's a plethora of incredible moments and shows from this year, ranging from two performances at Red Rocks including a special sit down set on night 2, the infamous Polo Fields show that Ed had to leave early due to illness, and the popular Soldier Field show which is considered one of the best in their history. This episode is a part of our Hallucinogenic Recipe series that not just covers the important moments from an era of Pearl Jam, but puts emphasis on the bootleg tape trading that was rampant during the mid-1990's. Patrick Boegel and Brian Horwitz host and bring you back to a simpler time where bootlegs weren't as readily as they are now. The summer of 1995 featured some incredible moments that were highly sought after in the trader world, and they'll get deep into moments such as No Jeremy, Falling Down, Maggot Brain, Everyday People and the evolution in Pearl Jam's live performances during this era. We've been telling Rob for years that he reminds us of Michael Douglas' at-breaking-point character from Falling Down. This week - to celebrate the podcast turning one year old - we sat down to watch the film, and regretted saying that almost immediately. Though we did find plenty to admire in this still alarmingly relevant violent urban rampage. Join us to find out why. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
