The Gladden Award recognizes a faculty member whose scholarly activities are especially noteworthy. Recipients give a public lecture on a topic-related to his or her scholarly work.
Not all workers are considered employees by the law. This talk will address how the definition of employee is changing, how the broader social context of neoliberal globalization is shaping these changes, and why these developments matter, both for workers and for our democracy.
