We all know that exercise does wonders for our bodies. But what might come as a surprise is that it can even bring us to climax, at least for women. Now, that might sound a bit far-fetched, but it's actually true: achieving the ultimate pleasure during a workout is possible. According to Medicalnewstoday.com, renowned sexologist Dr. Alfred Kinsey was the first to document instances of coregasms, noting links between orgasms and exercise in his 1953 book Sexual Behavior in the Human Female. Now bear in mind that a coregasm isn't triggered by stimulation of erogenous zones; rather, it's an internal phenomenon that occurs within a woman's body. Are you talking about the same kind of orgasm we have during sex ? What kinds of exercise can lead to a coregasm then ? Is the coregasm a common phenomenon then ? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: What are the biggest misconceptions on beating heatwaves? The Living Truth Podcast - Freedom From Unwanted Sexual Behavior, Hope & Healing For the Betrayed
Life as we know it is shattered when sexual betrayal is exposed in our primary relationship. The pain is profound—for both the betrayed and the one struggling with unwanted sexual behavior. Nothing remains the same, and the aftermath brings intense emotional and spiritual turmoil that calls for compassionate, trauma-informed care. Kristin continues the conversation with Molly LaCroix on how our “internal family” may respond to the chaos and grief following betrayal. If you're unfamiliar with the concept of the Internal Family System (IFS), be sure to listen to the previous episode with Molly LaCroix, LMFT, where she gently introduces this powerful framework and how it helps us understand and befriend the parts of ourselves that are hurting. If you or your partner are navigating the aftermath of infidelity and wondering whether the sexual behavior involved was really “sex addiction,” this episode is a must-listen. In Episode 86, I'm unpacking one of the most common and confusing questions couples face after betrayal: Is it sex addiction—or is something else going on? We'll explore: Why “sex addiction” is not a recognized mental health diagnosis in the DSM-5 The risk of mislabeling sexual behavior and missing the deeper emotional drivers What the Out of Control Sexual Behavior (OCSB) model is and why it offers a more compassionate, effective path forward Actionable next steps for couples dealing with out-of-control sexual behavior—including excessive porn use or secretive sexual activity This episode is especially supportive for couples who want to move beyond shame, blame, or one-size-fits-all labels and into real, values-based healing.

Healing Body Image and Self-Perception After Betrayal In this episode of the Human Intimacy Podcast, Dr. Kevin Skinner and MaryAnn Michaelis explore how early life experiences, cultural messaging, and exposure to media and pornography shape self-perception and body image—especially after betrayal. They discuss why betrayed partners often feel "not enough," and they share research shows that pornography harms both users' and partners' body image. The episode offers practical strategies for healing, including gratitude for the body's functionality, redefining beauty beyond appearance, and reconnecting with the joyful, authentic self. This conversation invites listeners to free themselves from harmful comparisons and embrace their inherent worth. Resources Discussed: - Study: The Association of Pornography Use and Body Image Among Heterosexual and Sexual Minority Men (Archives of Sexual Behavior). - Key concepts: Self-perception, media influence, social comparison theory, and gratitude-based body acceptance. —- Did you miss the First Annual Human Intimacy Conference? Does trauma cause BDSM desires? Is kink just a reenactment of old wounds? Or can it be something more, a form of healing, reclamation, or simply joy? I break down the difference between influence and origin, explore what it means when kink feels familiar, and offer a path forward grounded in choice, consent, and self-understanding. This is not about shame. It's about clarity. Young people have much less of an appetite for sex these days, it seems. The phenomenon has been labelled a “sex recession” in the media and terms like “puriteens” have emerged to describe sex-shy youngsters. Studies have backed up the idea of a sex recession too. One published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior journal in November 2021 found that the proportion of adolescents reporting no sexual activity is on the rise. What factors explain the celibacy trend? Sex positivity seemed to be all the rage these days, what happened to that? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! In recent months, we are hearing more and more stories of detransitioners who are renouncing and speaking out about their prior self-identification of being transgender. Research in the journal, Archives of Sexual Behavior, reports on interviews with seventy-eight individuals from the United States, ages eighteen to thirty-three who had stopped identifying as transgender at least six months prior to the interview. Their average age for first identifying as transgender was seventeen point one years of age, and they had done so for an average of five point four years before detransitioning. Eighty three percent had taken steps to transition socially, and sixty-eight percent had taken at least one medical step. Most reported that they had embraced the ideology because of prior mental health issues and trauma. They report better psychological health since detransitioning. These stories are becoming more widespread, and we shouldn't be surprised.

In today's episode, Dr. Delaney Ruston talks with author Peggy Orenstein about a media-fueled risky sexual practice that is happening among some teens today — choking, also called sexual strangulation. Orenstein, who has spent many years researching sexuality among youth for her books “Girls and Sex” and “Boys and Sex,” investigated the topic of sexual choking for a New York Times article that was published last month. Today, Orenstein shares some of her findings from that investigation, including the influence of pornography and other media on this new trend. What are the psychological and physical risks of this practice? And what are ways to have productive conversations with young people on this and related topics? This episode also includes a 19-year-old discussing her concerns about sexual choking. This episode is intended for adult audiences. And how may existing evidence-based treatments and approaches be shaped and applied? We speak with Dr. Melissa Grady at the School of Social Service at Catholic University and Dr. Jamie Yoder, assistant professor of social work at Colorado State University.Topics:01:50 – Origin story08:37 – Trauma and childhood adversity17:17 – Attachment23:47 – Why TF-CBT?32:09 – Findings41:32 – What's next?48:32 – For more information Links:Melissa Grady, Ph.D., professor, National Catholic School of Social Service at Catholic UniversityJamie Yoder, Ph.D., assistant professor of social work, Colorado State University.“Developing a trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy application for adolescents with problematic sexual behaviors: A conceptual framework,” M. In this episode, my guest is Dr. Bonnie Halpern-Felsher, PhD, FSAHM. She is a professor of pediatrics and adolescent medicine and a developmental psychologist at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Halpern-Felsher is a world expert in adolescent decision-making and risk-taking behaviors. She explains the huge increase in vaping (e-cigarettes) by young people. She explains why vaping nicotine and cannabis is particularly dangerous to the developing brain. We discuss the rise in vaping addiction, the unique social pressures and social media influences faced by youth that make quitting challenging, and interventions to aid them in quitting or reducing use. We also discuss the role of technology and social media. And, the use of alcohol, nicotine pouches, fentanyl, and other risky behaviors that adolescents face now. This episode should interest parents, teachers, coaches, teens, and families. It covers the current youth substance use landscape and also covers resources and ways to quit these addictive behaviors. What do Uber and OnlyFans have in common? Did camgirilng really originate from a 24 hour live stream of a Trojan coffee pot? And fellas, is it cheating to have an OnlyFans subscription AND a wife? These burning questions (and more) will be answered in this episode, where Hannah and Maia discuss the multivalent world of OnlyFans and the ways it transformed sex work, for better or for worse. It may have been a saving grace for out-of-work people during the pandemic, but is OF a hero of the gig economy, or an agent of it? Tangents include: Twitch's great grandfather, Justin.tv; the high culture-ification of fast food; and Maia using the term “-ification” till she gets woman'd right off the internet. To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: Why do dogs often look like their owners? How can I free myself from negative thoughts? In January of 1948, Alfred Kinsey releases his first book, Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, igniting a firestorm of controversy across the United States. As the Professor scrambles to capitalize on his newfound fame and pen a sequel, his methodology comes under attack from skeptical academics and religious conservatives. Meanwhile, Kinsey's research team at the Institute of Sex Research embarks on a series of increasingly bizarre – and politically dangerous – sexual adventures. SOURCES: Allen, Judith A.
