This week, I'm sharing a very special episode: the stories behind one of Nashville's top music influencers, John Huie. He had to take a lot of risks and find his way through unprecedented situations in music--and it paid off! He's the music mogul behind successful artists like The Police, Joan Jett, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and so many more. Now, as co-head of one of the largest booking agencies in the world and a Grammy-award winning producer, John looks back over his career.
I was so honored to talk to my cousin and one of Nashville's top businessmen in music, John Huie, about his family's journey through grief after losing his son Ryan 6 years ago. We talk openly about life after loss and the program at Onsite in honor of Ryan that supports parents who have lost children. Whether or not you've been through this, you will be inspired by his journey and his perspective! https://theonsitefoundation.org #justkeeplivingpodcast www.mckennahydrick.com

This week, I sit down with Chism McEntire to talk about her life story. And let me tell you, there's SO much to talk about that we had to break this up into 2 episodes. In part 1, she opens up about her dad abandoning her, what it was like when college basketball ended, finding the courage to step out in her purpose, and how therapy helped her find God amidst all the muck. We laugh, we cry, we talk about tacos and tequila. Enjoy!
In this episode, I sit down with my two Nashville besties, Hannah and Autumn, who wrote the title track to Reba's Grammy-nominated album, Stronger Than The Truth. We talk about Nashville, the music industry, the story behind the song, rejection, and preserving through the tough times as a creative. It's part fun and part deep, but inspiring all the way through. P.S. You'll hear the song LIVE at the end! ..... www.mckennahydrick.com #justkeeplivingpodcast
**Disclaimer: This episode has sensitive subject matter referring to suicide. Patsy and I have waited years and years to tell our story, and the day has finally come. We met by chance, and I wouldn't know until 6 months later that our meeting actually saved her life. In this episode, Patsy shares her story of addictions (food, alcohol, etc.), depression, and suicide attempts-- and how one act of kindness changed her life forever. Even though I am involved in this story, I had never heard it until we recorded live on the podcast. I literally cannot wait for you to listen to her heart! #justkeeplivingpodcast www.mckennahydrick.com
In episode 5, my sweet friend Jenni Sheneman opens up about her childhood trauma--from a broken home to her mother's imprisonment. We chat about how difficult moving is, the trap of comparison, and how important transforming pain is--and how she heard God's voice every step of the way. For Valentine's week, I sit down my hubby Andrew as he shares what it was like to be a rock for our family during the hardest years of our lives. He's a special needs dad (2 of our boys have a rare esophageal condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis), worked crazy work schedules to provide for our family, endured job rejection after job rejection as we tried to move to Nashville, and supported me as I pursued my dreams. I respect him and I love hime--and I really wanted y'all to get a glimpse of our story through his eyes. If you don't know a lot about our story, go back and listen to the bonus solo episode I posted on January 31!

I hope that through my own personal experiences other people can find hope too, as we figure out how to just keep living through life's toughest moments.
