Morgan Wallen, Lady Antebellum, Britney Spears and MUCH more. It's a music-pa-looza episode on today's episode of Cadillac Jack – My Second Act. Donna heads to Athens for a little business trip. Go Dawgs. While she was there she got to relive the glory days and also heard a motivational speech from UGA Athletic Director Josh Brooks. In it, he talked about what it took to build good company culture. Hear what advice he had to give that resonated with Donna. Morgan Wallen made his big return to Atlanta last Thursday and Friday and Donna took Charlotte for a little mother/daughter concert. In short: he lives up to his reputation. Donna relives the concert, the atmosphere, the fans and the man that has become one of country music's biggest stars. Also in country music, Lady Antebellum has postponed the rest of its tour dates until 2023 after band member Charles Kelley announced that he is checking into rehab to deal with alcohol issues. Donna and Caddy applaud his bravery and the support that his fellow band members are showing him. Family first, they said. Amen. Britney Spears is in the news after her former husband, and the father of her two boys, took some dirty laundry public when he revealed that their sons have decided they don't want to see Britney anymore. Donna and Caddy talk about how divorce and stardom effect kids in a relationship and what a sh*tty move by K-Fed this was. On the next episode, we'll discuss the life and legacy of Olivia Newton-John, singer and actress, who passed away Monday at the age of 73. Where is the strangest place you've ever publicly urinated? Let us know. Anonymous answers are allowed. Text or call 770-464-6024.

Nick Buda: Nick's experience in playing and recording music goes back to his freshman year in high school, where he played in a popular band that had a single on college radio. This led to his first major industry gig with Mac Gayden (co-wrote iconic hit "Everlasting Love") while still in high school. Within a few months of being out on the road, Nick moved to Boston where he attended the Berklee College of Music and got to see what real playing was all about. With his ego immediately put in check and his head full of new musical ideas , he got the gig with Col. Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers, which was a band he had loved to play along to in high school. During this time, Nick got to play with so many of the amazing musicians he had only heard in his headphones such as Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Bob Wier, and the late great Richie Hayward (from Little Feat) who joined Nick multiple times for some unforgettable double drumset gigs. Upon moving back to Nashville in 2002, Nick picked up right where he left off, when he was asked to play with Cyndi Thompson, starting another new chapter in his career. It was the first of many tours that would follow with such diverse artists as Edwin McCain, Hank Williams Jr., Jedd Hughes, Maia Sharp, Emily West, and many others. Playing with these various artists has led to performing at so many great iconic venues such as the Grand Ole Opry along with TV appearances on many of the late night and daytime talk shows. It also led to a whole new side of Nick's career as a session drummer. Nick's unique drumming style combines his delicate touch with a soulful r&b backbeat and an explosive energy, which adds depth and excitement to his tracks. He's never afraid to take chances with music, which sets him apart as a player. His unmistakeable style infiltrates both live and studio settings putting him in high demand amongst the Music Row elite. His playing is featured on country/pop sensation Taylor Swift's first 5 multi-platinum albums. This includes "Fearless", which won many Grammy's including Album Of The Year. Other artists Nick has recorded with include: Richard Marx, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Kenny Loggins, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride and Randy Houser to name a few. Nick's playing style has already helped influence a new sound in Nashville, and his diverse track record is continually expanding in various directions, but the wooden spoons now stay in the kitchen. But really now, should Hooks & Runs be trolling the Orioles? In Chapter 1, Andrew and Craig explore Lady Antebellum's rebranding controversy, MLB's major award winners, and Justin Verlander's deal with the Astros. In Chapter 2, they kick off a series on baseball records that are over 100 years old, and in Chapter 3, a nostalgic look back to Pearl Jam's "Ten" and Nirvana's "Nevermind," released 30 years ago this late summer, early fall.Errata: Lady A's first band was known as " Lady A & the Baby Blues Funk Band." Craig is correct; Bill Virdon managed the Astros in 1980. Bob Lillis replaced him during the 1982 season, then Hal Lanier led Houston to the ALCS in his first year as Houston's manager in 1986. Bill Joyce was a player-manager, common in the 19th century. Allan Travers got paid $50.00, not $25.00 like the other players. Then is was called St. Joseph's College, not university. Roger Clemens became the first to strikeout 20 in a nine-inning game on April 29, 1986.Check It Out!Andrew says check out Taylor Swift's "Red (Taylor's Version)."Craig says check out Courtney Barnett's "Things Take Time, Take Time."Rex says check out Riot Act's new song, "Wanted."Hooks & Runs Website, TwitterCraig Estlinbaum on TwitterAndrew Eckhoff on FriendFeed (dead link)Rex von Pohl (Krazy Karl's Music Emporium) on FacebookOpening and closing music, "Caroline" by Craig Estlinbaum. Raised in Hardin County, KY (about halfway between Louisville and Nashville), Kevin grew up in “mid-shift” of what is defined as country music. He has served as a supporting act for several BIG names in country music; such as Chris Young, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, David Lee Murphy, Joe Diffie, Maddie & Tae, Reilly Green, Ryan Hurd, and several more. He has played at several popular venues/festivals across the country, including CMA Music Festival, the 2019 NFL Draft, Kentucky Derby Festival, KY Bourbon Festival, Freedom Hall (Former Louisville Cardinals Men's Basketball Arena), Blake Shelton's Ole Red (All Locations), and Tootsie's Orchard Lounge. Because of this, his influences span several generations. From the boot-scootin', honky-tonk sounds of Brooks and Dunn, George Strait and Hank Jr., to modern-day hits of Thomas Rhett, Eric Church, and Keith Urban. His songs combine his songwriting, performing abilities, and work ethic, along with his genuine love and appreciation of country music as a whole, and you have someone who can compete with Nashville's finest. 2018 got momentum started for Kevin and his own music career. Kevin independently wrote his first single, “Hell of a Good Time”, which captures the memories of Kevin and his buddies growing up through late high school and college. It is the first single off his debut EP, Lookin' For A Party; and the song reached #15 on the New Country Artists Charts. On November 29, 2019, Kevin released "Lookin' For A Party", his second single and title track of the debut EP. “[Lookin' for a Party] is the life of a musician on the road-- a life I've lived since I was 16," Kevin says. "When you are out there, and you're going city to city... You see a lot of things... and a lot of interesting people. Literally, Class A's to the bottom of the barrel-- the rough ones! This song puts them all in one room together. Some are just there for the beer and some are lookin' for a party. That is how it goes in the dives and the clubs! You see all of them." The success of this single led to it being a JMA nomination for Song of the Year in 2020, and Kevin was also nominated for Rising Artist of the Year. His debut EP was released on Sept 1, 2020. On the same day, Kevin released his third (and current) single, "Hook, Line, and Sinker", which is a record-breaking single in its own right! Within 24 hours of release, the song had tens of thousands of streams and continues to climb as his most-streamed single to date. Kevin is currently working on the currently untitled EP #2 and is set to release the first single off it this summer. We listen to his song, Hook, Line, and Sinker for this episode. Find more of his music on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, Tidal, etc. Follow along with Kevin's musical career on all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok.
