Getting Started in Real Estate Sales - New REALTOR® Q & A1 I answer some questions on the "how to" get started in your real estate career: When you interview a brokerage is it like a traditional interview or is it more you interviewing them? Do they expect you to ask lots of questions about them and there practices or is it more them asking about you and your previous employment history? How do you go about marketing yourself and finding clients outside of your family and friends? Do brokerages give you training on how to do this? Or is it more you just get an office and supplies and the rest is up to you to figure out? How long did it take you to start seeing consistent sales and leads and what were the hours you were putting in to get these? I know the beginning is going to be rough, just trying to get an idea how rough. Is it easier to start in searching for leases rather than sales? Also so far in my courses we haven’t really learned how to take measurements or about property lines, they were briefly discussed but not enough to feel near confident about going out and doing it myself.
