Welcome to this week's episode of Stoppage Time with Uncle Rob — a deep, honest, and hopeful reflection on where we are, where we've been, and the powerful people lighting the way forward.Yes — the title is intentional. And yes — we are nine months into an administration that increasingly echoes authoritarian regimes of the past. But history shows us something important: progress always wins. This episode is more than just political commentary — it's a declaration of resilience, truth, and belief in the unstoppable force of people power. Uncle Rob reflects on the state of democracy, the erosion of First Amendment rights, and the ongoing cultural, legal, and moral battles we're all witnessing here in the U.S.But most importantly, this week's conversation is full of hope — found in the stories of bold, brilliant women of color who are reshaping industries, challenging systems, and leading communities. You'll hear from rising leaders like Amiah Sheppard, whose journey from foster care in Inglewood to the halls of Columbia University and USC is nothing short of incredible — and just one example of the kind of purpose-driven innovation that gives us hope.If you need to feel inspired — genuinely inspired — by the kind of people who are building a better future in the face of political darkness, this episode is for you.Tune in. Feel seen. Stay encouraged. This is what optimistic resistance sounds like.Peace. Joy. Love. And belief in the better days ahead.— Uncle Rob

Comp, benefits, trucks, safety, facility • Market the job: Indeed ≈ GMB—headline your differentiators to get seen • Tight scope + KPIs: Roles people actually want, with success metrics in the post • Personality-to-seat fit: Coach vs. closer; stress tests & scenario questions (QA Tech example)

In this week's episode of the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast, I talked to Deb Boulanger, a sought-after speaker, business mentor and thought leader, and an expert in guiding women from corporate roles to successful consulting businesses. We explored how public speaking can be a powerful and strategic tool for consistently closing new clients. Deb shared actionable tips on audience engagement, crafting compelling offers and the importance of follow-up. We also discussed mindset shifts, preparation and how to avoid common pitfalls like over-teaching. Whether you're new to speaking or looking to refine your approach, this episode is packed with practical advice to help you turn talks into tangible business growth. In This Episode: [00:00:00] Introducing Deb Boulanger and her transition from corporate leadership to entrepreneurship.. [00:03:08] Deb discusses the unexpected difficulties of starting her own business and learning new skills. [00:04:43] Exploring the mindset changes required when moving from corporate to entrepreneurial life. [00:06:06] Conversation about embracing individuality and being different as an entrepreneur. [00:07:32] Using public speaking strategically to close clients, and the value of both paid and unpaid speaking. [00:09:30] The common mistake of over-teaching and how it can overwhelm audiences. [00:10:46] Deb shares tips on structuring talks for impact, including using simple points and stories. [00:12:30] The importance of pre-launch content, audience engagement, and reverse engineering event goals. [00:14:32] Discussion on the need for thorough follow-up with attendees and registrants after a talk. [00:17:21] Tips on using social media, direct messaging, and ensuring attendees have access to event links. [00:18:50] Advice for speakers on managing perceived audience disengagement and keeping energy high. [00:20:38] How to address audience pain points and provide new perspectives during talks. [00:22:28] Deb explains how to transition to offers, the difference between soft and hard offers, and best practices. [00:26:00] Guidance on making appropriate offers when selling consulting services to organizations. Key Takeaways: The allure of paid speaking gigs is strong, but Deb emphasizes that unpaid talks, when delivered to the right audience, can generate far greater business value. Many speakers try to prove their expertise by overloading their audience with information. This “over-teaching” leaves listeners overwhelmed and less likely to take action. Success starts long before you step on stage. Effective pre-event marketing and engagement can dramatically increase attendance and conversion. The offer is where many speakers falter, either by being too aggressive or too timid. The key is to make offers that feel natural and valuable. Quotes: “The mindset is totally opposite than corporate, right? In corporate, you're rewarded for something absolutely different, which is fitting in, coloring inside the lines, and in entrepreneurship you're rewarded for being different. So how different can you be? How creative can you be? And coloring outside the lines.” - Deb Boulanger “The things that you used to aspire to, you now need to be the opposite. And it's actually great news for us because it was never that fun to fit in and be less. Whereas suddenly it's like your job depends on you being more and showing the world ‘this is who I am.'” - Jessica Fearnley “You can do lots of things, but if you're in the wrong rooms, not speaking to the right audience for your business, it's lovely that you did it, but it doesn't always drive sales.” - Jessica Fearnley “If you're leading a webinar, if you're speaking from stage, if you're leading a workshop or even if you're on a panel, the primary mistake people make is they want to be seen as smart. They want to showcase their thought leadership, and they end up over teaching, over coaching, leaving the audience overwhelmed or needing to sort it all out so that they can apply it on their own. And that is the first mistake that in our desire to help serve, inform, we end up giving away too much information. People aren't able to take action.” - Deb Boulanger “Keep it to three simple points, right? Three simple points that people can take away and give them a core premise and a paradigm shift that makes it memorable. And this is where true thought leaders really stand out, because when you ask people at the end of your talk, what was the number one thing you took away? They're repeating back to you your paradigm shift that you left them with.” - Deb Boulanger Useful Links Deb: LifeAfterCorporate.com Life After Corporate Podcast Connect with Deb on LinkedIn Seven Easy Steps to Convert More Clients Today Expert Pricing Calculator Ebook - A Free Guide on How to Make More Money, Meaning, and Impact Doing Work You Love Jessica: Buy Jessica's book, Too Much, on Amazon Get in touch with Jessica to discuss your consulting business Leave a rating and review for the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast Connect with Jessica on LinkedIn Guest Bio Deb Boulanger is a sought-after speaker, business mentor, and thought leader helping high-achieving women leaders successfully transition from corporate careers to profitable coaching and consulting businesses. Dust to Dust, Weirdos! Welcome back to KEEP IT WEIRD!! The podcast for all things strange, unusual, paranormal, supernatural, creepy, gross, scary, sticky and everything in between! Everytime we get together we chat about something WEIRD and this episode is no exception. WE'RE BACK from a brief hiatus so dont mind us as we spend the first fifteen or so catching you up on life stuff but dont you worry we make our way to the strange quickly as Lauren brings us into a WHERE IN THE WORLD (is Keep It Weird Going?) and we travel (astrally) to NORWAY! Ålen, Norway to be exact in a 15 mile valley known as Hessdalen where for almost an entire century very strange lights have been appearing in the sky. No matter the weather, regardless of day or night these lights show up in bright whites, yellows and reds - sometimes for over an hour! Sometimes they streak through the sky, other times they sway slowly back and forth. But what the h e double hockey sticks are they?! UFOs?! Plasma? Ball lightning? A natural phenomenon we literally don't know about yet?! We break down the scientific discoveries that we DO know along with all the questions we still have about the HESSDALEN LIGHTS. Then Ashley takes a different look at the sky in an ITS THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT! Something is headed our way and its massive. 3i/Atlas is the third interstellar object (that we have ever observed) to pass through our solar system and it's en route as we speak! Most experts believe it's a comet, although some are more skeptical of it's behavior. But that's not why we're here-- we're here to talk about what some OTHER folks believe this object to be. Something called the BLUE STAR KACHINA aka SAQUASOHUH- an apocalyptic prophecy from North America's own Hopi Native Tribes. This bright blue star is said to come from far away and crash into our skies in the "Day of Purification" and is described as a "world engulfing cataclysm" that will end life as we know it for everyone who isn't truly Hopi. The only problem is that the legend didn't actually come from Hopi legends and it was written by a white man in the 60s. OOPS!! Ah well, we'll get em' next time boys. Lauren finishes off the show with a mini segment called TIK TOKS THAT BRING ME JOY where she introduces us to three different content creators that have helped her get through the last month or so we've been away. In this episode of The Mentors Radio, Host Dan Hesse talks with former U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Thad Allen about leadership during a crisis. Whether it's a business crisis, family crisis, natural disaster, supply chain nightmare, government-mandated pandemic shutdown or something else, ethical leadership can make all the difference in ultimately navigating to “safe shores.” Our guest mentor today, Thad Allen, has a lot to share about leadership and crisis leadership. During his Coast Guard career, Allen was asked by two U.S. Presidents to take over leadership of the Federal response to two monumental crises—the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the catastrophic Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. To achieve resolution in each of these disasters required bringing together a wide swath of diverse constituencies—each with their own focus, concerns, habits of communication and pain points. No easy task. Allen was so successful in his efforts that he became known in some circles as “the master of disaster.” Allen also led the Atlantic Coast Guard forces in response to the 9/11 attacks and coordinated the U.S. Coast Guard response to a major Haitian earthquake. But what was Allen's secret for bringing very diverse groups together, leading them to work together to achieve a common goal? How did he herd cats in a crisis? Among other things you'll learn that one of the first things he does—every time, in every disaster with which he was involved—is to focus first on forging a unity of purpose and a culture of compassion. Yes. People First. Every Time! That required hyper-focused listening, clarity of assessment, finding the common threads and building on those, and… did we mention listening, putting people first?!! The lessons and experiences Thad Allen shares in this episode are worth more than gold for any human on the planet—in business, work, life, anywhere, anytime… and for cats too, if they'd only listen. In this episode, I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Carrie Locklyn—a woman whose journey is as inspiring as it is entertaining. From her early days as a backup dancer for Mariah Carey (yes, you heard that right!) to touring the world with iconic stars, Carrie's story is one of fearless reinvention. I was blown away as she shared how she moved from the dance floor to embracing the art of organization, transitioning into an HGTV star and mastering the craft of interior design. We dove into the real, unglamorous side of life on TV—talking about everything from lugging boxes in messy hotel rooms to finding beauty in the chaos of decluttering. Carrie's down-to-earth approach, her knack for mixing humor with practical advice, and the way she champions taking risks, even if it means failing spectacularly, truly resonated with me. I was especially struck by how she balances the art and science of organizing—turning everyday clutter into a canvas for a soulful, personal space. Tune in for a spirited conversation packed with laughter, tough truths, and a whole host of behind-the-scenes stories that remind us that sometimes, saying “yes” to life's challenges is the boldest design choice of all. In this intense and unforgettable episode, we hear from Ryan, a Boykin Springs native who has spent years interacting with something wild, powerful, and very real in the forests of Angelina County. You'll hear about his early sightings, how curiosity turned into weekend investigations with friends, and why so many members of his local church refuse to return to the woods. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be watched, followed, or even protected by a creature no one believes in — this is your episode. Featuring stories from Boykin Springs, Crockett, Huntington, and beyond, this is East Texas like you've never heard it before.

It's Friday and the weekend, starts here. If you live in Wisconsin, the Big Bill For Billionaires will hit and it will hit hard. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but sooner than you know and we want to always remind people about the politicians who voted for the wealthy and not the people. Also, RFK, Jr. went to Capitol Hill and it did not go well, but there is one big take away. Then, we are joined by Lt. Diane Goldstein (Ret.), she is the Executive Director of Law Enforcement Action Partnership and she talks to us about the benefits of cashless bail and why the attacks from The Felon President on this subject is, once again, trying to wage war on poor folks. As always, thank you for listening, texting and calling, we couldn't do this without you! Don't forget to download the free Civic Media app and take us wherever you are in the world! Discipline turns average into unstoppable. Distraction turns talent into wasted potential. Too many photographers and filmmakers are chasing every shiny object, trying to be everything to everyone, and spreading themselves too thin. The truth is, you don't need to do it all. You need focus. When you stop diluting your energy and start showing up with clarity, consistency, and discipline, everything changes. The creatives who win aren't always the most talented, they're the ones who stay committed, focused, and consistent long after others get distracted. That's what sets apart the artists stuck in the mainstream market from the ones thriving at the luxury level. You are capable of building a brand that attracts dream clients, commands higher prices, and creates loyalty through trust. But only if you choose to stop chasing every bubble in sight and start directing your energy where it matters most.No more shiny object syndrome. No more distraction. No more dilution. It's time to focus, to stay consistent, and to outpace talent with discipline.00:00 – 03:30 | Talent vs. Skill and the Balance of Art + Business03:30 – 07:30 | Why Focus Matters More Than Being Everywhere07:30 – 11:30 | The Danger of Dilution and Shiny Object Syndrome11:30 – 15:30 | Consistency, Artistic Style, and Building Trust15:30 – 21:00 | Staying Focused on Platforms and Relationships That Matter21:00 – 26:30 | Hard Work, Discipline, and Outpacing TalentThe next round of The Luxury Mastermind will start in October 2025! Do you ever feel like someone twists your words to make you the problem? Or maybe they guilt-trip you with, “After everything I've done for you…” Or act “concerned” just to control your choices? These aren't just frustrating behaviors—these are psychological manipulation tactics designed to make you doubt yourself, feel guilty, and stay compliant. In this episode of The Positivity Xperience, we're breaking down:

President Trump on Monday evening fired Biden-appointed Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook amid mortgage fraud allegations. “Pursuant to my authority under Article II of the Constitution of the United States and the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, as amended, you are hereby removed from your position on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, effective immediately,” President Trump wrote in a letter to Lisa Cook. “I have determined that there is sufficient cause to remove you from your position,” Trump added as he cited housing regulator Bill Pulte's criminal referral on Lisa Cook for mortgage fraud – specifically occupancy fraud. Source: thegatewaypundit.com What Fed must do now after Jerome Powell's Jackson Hole epiphany Last Friday in Jackson Hole, Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell finally – and grudgingly – admitted what the Trump team has been saying all along: tariffs don't fuel inflation. At most, tariffs create a one-time adjustment in prices, not the kind of runaway spiral that demands punishing rate hikes. And even that one-time bump may be negligible if, as we have long argued, foreign exporters – not American consumers – shoulder most or all of the burden. The implication is clear: whether the impact is zero or merely a one-time step-up in prices, there is absolutely no justification for the Fed to hide behind "tariff uncertainty" as an excuse for overly restrictive interest-rate policy. In this episode of The Tai Lopez Show, Tai unpacks the power of environment in shaping your long-term success, drawing from a viral tweet about Warren Buffett’s wisdom: “When a good manager meets a bad business, the bad business wins.” Tai expands this into life and wealth—how the wrong city, country, or social circle can quietly sabotage even the most disciplined person. You’ll learn: Why willpower is finite and can’t outlast a toxic environment How “flow maxing” can guide the cities you live in, the industries you choose, and the people you date When to move into big cities to grow your wealth—and when to get out before ambition consumes you The ancient “Lindy” principle for making better life choices Why knowing your genetic limits is as important in business as it is in sports The danger of never having an “enough” number, from Napoleon to modern billionaires How to rotate between environments for money, happiness, and long-term health If you’ve ever wondered where you should live to make the most money—and when to leave so you can actually enjoy it—this deep dive will change the way you think about your surroundings, your ambition, and your optimal stopping point.
