The kids are in school (Montessori). Jersey and the twins, Ava and Alexis, all attend the same school. The girls have adjusted fine in Georgia, they are having a great time, and their teachers say they are leaders in the classroom and model students. Jersey is also doing well - he could be the most polite baby ever! His teacher says that Jersey is super smart, puts things away, listens well, and helps other students. We are so proud of our kids. So what is Dad's fault? You'll have to listen! lol, but it was a golf outing gone crazy. YUP, you read that right! We purchased a home off the WORLD WIDE WEB! During our last trip to ATL, we were in search of the perfect house but came back to New Jersey with nothing. Luckily, a friend we had here in Georgia put us in contact with a Real Estate Agent who actually knew of a home that was not on the market yet. Our friend and the real estate agent really came together to assure we fell in love with this property. Together they stayed on top of recent renovations and sent video footage of the home's progress. We're already loving ATL and the warm welcome we've received. As you know, we are in the process of moving from New Jersey to Georgia. We've been living in hotels for 3 weeks since our NJ home had to be staged to sell. From California to New Jersey then later in Atlanta, GA, this process has taken a toll on our entire family, but the kids are holding up well. Goodbye's are sad and this one is no different, but sometimes there is happiness within a silver lining. The McClure family is moving from New Jersey to Georgia. While we are excited, it's also sad and stressful. We say goodbye to Jersey's and the twins daycare provider; Mrs. Dorcas has been amazing for our kids! As my abdomen and chest area heals, I am still struggling with a weak core. I thought not being able to pick up Jersey would be the issue, but who knew my entire family would affect my recovery process. YES, MY FAMILY IS TOO FUNNY (LOL) and I cannot laugh without pain. Also, sneezing and coughing takes a lot out of me and I wish it can be avoided altogether. Nonetheless, thinking of the end results are enough to keep my mind off the pain. The McClure Family (sans Justin) was in attendance at Beauty Con - a two-day convention festival centered around beauty - this past weekend. It was the assistant's first time at the front line of a huge, SOLD OUT event where the McClure Twins get to meet and interact directly with fans. It was a bit of an overwhelming experience but they survived the sold out event, almost unscathed but in one piece. Ami & Justin McClure discuss the assistant's harrowing experience. In many of our teachings to our kids, we learn a lot about how we can be better parents. We were sadly mistaken when we assumed our Stranger Danger lessons were received well. It's frightening for your child to run a high-temperature. A baby cannot talk or explain how they are feeling, so it leaves parents in disarray and confusion. Jersey started running high fevers for no reason - he was eating well, acting normal, playing, but all of a sudden, BAM!, high fever. Authoritarian practices are preferred, kids need to know right and wrong, it's a parents role to guide their children to be great humans, but the right disciplinary measures can be confusing and difficult when balancing the emotions and intellects of children. Justin has a unique way of disciplining his girls when they are "unruly"...make them eat food they don't want. The twins complain about eating vegetables and fruits, so Justin's new way of disciplining the girls is making them eat food they don't want (essentially making them more healthy). We have a baby who won't eat...real food. He loves to eat from his mother! but not "real food", and today is the last day; we can't take it anymore. First off, Justin's toe might fall off. While visiting family, a large suitcase landed on his toe, and now it's many different colors. lol. Who knows what will happen? Justin has 6 years of sobriety, but it wasn't easy. In this episode, he talks about the steps he took to achieve sobriety one day at a time. In 2012, after many setbacks from drugs, alcohol, and women, he saw a movie that changed his life: "Unguarded, the Chris Herren Story". In this movie, Justin saw part of himself and was disgusted, but then inspired to change...to be better...to be sober.
