Scorcher of a day yesterday. Temps in the upper 80's with 55% humidity made it feel like....TOO HOT for our New York family. After getting dropped off in Daytona for Rockville...(why isn't this set up for late fall when things are more temperate?) my neice and great nephew and Lori & I...we ventured out to a local produce and animal farm in North West Palm Bay. Tractor tour through the farm and then foot travel to go see and pet the animals there. Kinda COOL seeing this farm smack in the middle of communities of HUGE unoccupied homes in various developments that surround it. Harris Farms. My niece promised her son that today, after dropping SUPER DAD and daughter off in Daytona again for day 2 of Rockville, that the two of them would have a total beach day. The pain of my sunburn...first painful one in nearly 15 years, has subsided enough for me to maybe join them later in the afternoon. MAYBE! Whatever the goal is, whatever you guys use, write it down, and then do something no one does after they write it down. If you wrote it down, you're already 90% above everybody else. Take that last 10% and read it out loud. Then if you find yourself falling off or not sure why, just pull it back out. Don't forget about it. The more you write, the more you can focus. People don't write things out anymore. I'm not talking about typing it. Don't type it and no, don't put in your phone. In New York City, the person charged with the care, maintenance, and repair of a building is known as a "super." Short for superintendent, it also describes the quality of Alen's work and the superhuman way he seems to be in multiple places at once in the neighborhood, helping dozens of people get things done in their homes every single day. That's exactly what he was doing in my apartment a few weeks ago. We caught up while he installed a new light switch for me, and I briefly mentioned this personal project I've been working on, a podcast about what it means to be a dad today, and he immediately asked, "so when are you gonna have me on the show?" Alen is a get-it-done kinda guy, so the two of us went ahead and got it done and thus, we have this episode. We met for the interview in the natural habitat of Alen's profession: the basement of my building, specifically behind the door marked, "DANGER: ELECTRIC ROOM." In our conversation, Alan covers a lot of topics including his transformative early years in America; the differences between his three kids' upbringing and his own upbringing in a village in Montenegro; his many entrepreneurial pursuits, and what it really means to be a super. Doug is joined by Jordan Modiano, a business owner, race car driver, leadership trainer, and motivational speaker who proudly calls himself an "Autism Super Dad." Jordan shares his thoughts on everything from goal setting and leadership to how his daughter's autism has shaped his approach to life and business. Jordan's stories and lessons will inspire you to rethink your approach to goals, leadership, and personal growth. KEY TAKEAWAYS Share your goals with people who matter and provide detailed explanations of how you'll achieve them. This creates accountability and support systems for when times get tough Success requires levelling up your circle, seek out businesses and people who are where you want to be to accelerate your growth Treat goals like milestones, breaking them down into smaller chunks while celebrating progress along the way True leadership is about making other people's lives better, regardless of your position or title Put distance between events and your responses; bad minutes don't have to become bad days People are always watching. Small actions and interactions can have profound impacts you may never know about Goals require different accountability approaches for different situations, what works for yourself may not work for others Confidence in goal setting is crucial - "Trying" to achieve something already provides an excuse for failure BEST MOMENTS "Having a daughter on the autism spectrum, she shows me what she's capable of. And I sit back and go, wow, if she can do that, what are we capable of?”. "Experience isn't wisdom, experience is experience, experience matched with reflection. That becomes wisdom. That's where your lessons come from." "You know, they say, show me your friends. I'll show you your future. If you hang around with five millionaires, you'll be the sixth. If you hang around with five alcoholics, you'll be the sixth." "You think about the best teams in the world, what makes the best team? Trust. And what's the foundation for trust? Vulnerability." Send us a textI'm literally in awe and speechless.I knew how powerful the process I developed was for women. But only as I spoke to Sonny, one of the men who is just completing the Zen Superdad program, I fully realize what a life-changing and deeply meaningful impact this work can have for men too.Don't take my word for it, just watch for yourself so that it doesn't sound like I'm 'tooting my own horn'...I think there's only a handful of men I've met in my entire life who were so aware, so deeply connected, and so strong that they would be able to do what Sonny just did - to be able to have an open talk about their life, the mistakes they've done, the struggle and pain they have felt, and how courageously and relentlessly they turned it around. So if you're sitting there, feeling deeply unheard, misunderstood, alone feeling cut off from your life, and in your relationships, then this talk was meant for you.----Notes and links mentioned in the episode: To book your seat at the next FREE, LIVE "Daddy Tantrum" Training, email us at hi@zensupermom.comSupport the Show.Want to know the two keys to becoming a calm mom and stop yelling? If you were a child of the 1980s and early 1990s, you lived through a golden age for sitcom dads. From The Cosby Show to Growing Pains and Roseanne to The Simpsons, fathers of all kinds ruled the airwaves for roughly a decade, providing an entire generation of wide-eyed kids a glimpse into what a father should look like and, for better or worse, what a family can be. But did these portrayals of paternal figures do more harm than good, and how did Friends and Seinfeld land a fatal blow to the fate of sitcom dads? Comedy historian and author Saul Austerlitz joins this episode of Paternal to take a deep dive on the history of the family sitcom, tracing the genre's roots back to the dawn of television. He discusses how fathers were first portrayed in the 1950s and how they have evolved during each decade thereafter, including iconic sitcom dads on Leave it to Beaver, All in the Family, The Cosby Show, Married With Children, Roseanne, and The Simpsons. Austerlitz is a faculty member at NYU who teaches courses on writing about American comedy and writing about television drama, and he's the author of six books, including on the history of sitcoms and the success of the hit series Friends. He recently wrote an article in The Atlantic entitled “Dad Culture Has Nothing to Do With Parenting.” Episode Timestamps: 00:00 - 06:56 - Intro 06:56 - 10:33 - The perils of the “dad perjorative” and the connection to sitcoms 10:33 - 15:12 - Sitcom dads in the 1950s and 1960s 15:12 - 21:18 - Discussing Archie Bunker, “All in the Family,” and 70s family sitcoms 23:16 - 28:28 - The success of “The Cosby Show” 28:28 - 32:22 - The rise of the 1980s Superdad 32:22 - 36:12 - “Roseanne” breaks the mold 36:12 - 42:49 - The alternative dads on “Married With Children” and “The Simpsons” 42:49 - 46:25 - The 1990s demise of the family sitcom 46:25 - 48:42 - “Blackish” and dads on modern-day sitcoms 48:42 - 51:40 - What we lose without family sitcoms Read The Transcript For This Episode

Dad of 4, fluent in 4 languages, trauma-informed coach and so much more. Meet Victor, first man on the Zen Supermom team who will be working 1-1 with all men joining us in the coming weeks inside the Zen Supermom program. It was a pleasure to invite him for this special podcast episode and talk about his own healing journey. Because while his story is unique, it's similar to so many men I've already worked with... All that male generational trauma of supressing emotions as weak, avoiding any vulnerability and staying strong & rational, ... and all of that then backfiring in all of your relationships - with your partner/spouse and your children because trauma never goes away until you heal it. Childhood healing is not for the faint of heart. But Victor is a great inspiration and proof about why it's worth it.May this episode reach those who need to hear this the most...Catch this episode Youtube as well!Support the showDid this episode help you in any way?Leave a review and comment here: https://lovethepodcast.com/zensupermomWant to know the two keys to becoming a calm mom and stop yelling? ive from the Heart of America—I'm Steve Gruber— Your Soldier of Truth—the Tip of the Spear against socialists—here ready to fight for you from the Foxhole of Freedom—AND—giving you better analysis than anyone else while defending this great nation—this is the Steve Gruber Show— Here are 3 big things you need to know right now— Number One— John Kerry and his fellow globalist cult members are continuing to attack farming—the latest target of the so called green new deal—strange that they want to plow farms under— Number Two— Barack Obama apparently met with Joe Biden in June and told him clearly that Donald Trump—no matter what they throw at him should not be under estimated—and could certainly win in 2024— Number Three— I never thought I would see the day that my nation—my beloved America—founded on the greatest governing documents ever conceived would be charging politicians with crimes for giving political speeches— It is truly a heartbreaking point in history—and one that must be put down like a rapid dog—this attack on the First Amendment by way of Donald Trump cannot stand— It should not matter whether you are a Republican or Democrat or Libertarian—if you are not appalled by the attacks on free speech being carried out by the same guy that had convictions against the former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell thrown out by a unanimous 9-0 vote of the United States Supreme Court—then you are not paying attention—AT ALL! Jack Smith has wandered so far afield that he is using a post Civil War statue designed to rein in the Ku Klux Klan to try to pin something on the former President—BUT the latest charges are the weakest of all— After being arraigned in DC—President Trump spoke to a few reporters for a few moments— Not far away—one of the Presidents attorneys laid out the strange relationship between the spreading scandals involving both Hunter Biden and now the implications that his father was taking in millions of dollars too—with the timing of charges aimed at Donald Trump— And all of that is suspect—BUT what is really going on here? Its time we peel away the whitewash and get to the facts of the matter—and the fact is—Jack Smith—is a political operative trying to take out Joe Bidens number one opponent in the upcoming Presidential Election—by almost making up charges out of thin air—and that comes from a long time, well respected Constitutional attorney—who is also a Democrat— And if the First Amendment no longer covers the free discussion of ideas from politicians—that could create a whole new playing field huh? And the man that broke the trail that made it possible for me to sit here along with others—and give our take on what is happening here and around the world—he saw this coming years ago—and this will come as no surprise— Rush knew then—man we could use him today—and Andrew Breitbart—and maybe even Tim Russert—voices that would have a lot to say about the unprecedented attacks on a former President and leading candidate— Boy that would be nice huh? Getting back now to the revelations that came out this week from long-time friend of Hunter and his business partner—or is that his Partner in crime? Either way—what Democrat Dan Goldman said following the closed door hearing—well it turns out—most of it was not true at all—and the one MSM Network following the story—laid it on the line— And the other talking point that Democrats tried to push just doesn't pass the stink test—in fact we now know that Joe Biden sat down at dinner with one of the key players from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma— But the Media wants you to think it was just Pops checking in and doting on his kid— Yeah, good old Super Dad—the amazing father Joe Biden—who, when he is not groping and sniffing minors—is working alongside his addict son—to coerce foreign stakeholders to pay up with giant amounts of money—to have him fix their problems in Washington— And yet—all the attacks on Trump seem to pale in comparison to the misdeeds of the Biden Clan—at least that's what voters are apparently deciding—

Back in the year 2009ish I had the honor of coaching Lex in the wonderful sport of Football. I got to know him over the next 4 years and watch is struggles and successes. He made his was from HS and found some success in Amateur and Pro MMA. Lex learned just as much from his losses as a fighter as he did his wins. After some ups and downs and having 3 beautiful children Lex found himself wanting to get back into the Octagon. However, there was one problem, Lex weighed in at over 300 pounds. As of today, he is sitting in at around 245 and getting ready to start fight camp in the next few weeks. Lex has a big heart and is constantly working on himself to be better. I learned a lot about him in this 80ish minute sit down. Cheer him on as he is about to step back into something very few of us humans are willing and or capable of doing!
