The L Word Generation Q | Season 3 Episode 10 Recap with NicoleReactsUp Host Amanda Costner and guest host Nicole Reacts Up break down the season three FINALE (possibly the series finale)! Because this is potentially the last Generation Q episode EVER, the hosts have a lot to discuss. How was the ending to Bette and Tina's story? Were the fans' expectations for the wedding met? Amanda finds the finale entertaining, but acknowledges Bette and Tina could have gotten more of a sendoff. While Nicole is just glad she got to see them marry each other. Both hosts discuss whether they're team Dani/Roxy or team Dany/Dre. Also, how were the wedding outfits? Some outfits get a lot of praise from host Nicole, while other outfits (ahem Bette and Tina...) get the side eye. The L Word Generation Q | Season 3 Episode 8 Recap with Ashley Kay M Host Amanda Costner and guest host Ashley Kay M break down episode 8 of the third season of The L Word Generation Q. Ashley is a big Finley fan, but wishes the episode would have given us more information on her background. Amanda can't shake how accurate Fin's mom is as the villain of the episode. Both hosts agree it was a flaky plotline to have Sophie's family all decide to throw away their Thanksgiving plans and go hang out in a lesbian bar with Sophie's ex. The L Word Generation Q | Season 3 Episode 7 Recap with Amy Nico Schwartz Host Amanda Costner and guest host Amy Nico Schwartz break down episode 7 of the third season of The L Word Generation Q. Both hosts are enjoying season 3 but acknowledge there are a lot of inconsistencies and problems with the writing. Amy is a big Dani defender and is happy she's getting to have fun with Dre. Amanda is here for single, messy Sophie and hopes they'll keep Finley and Sophie apart for a few more episodes. The hosts discuss the shows history with inviting musicians on and suggest people who would be good for a potential fourth season. The L Word Generation Q | Season 3 Episodes 5 & 6 Recap with Ro Host Amanda Costner and frequent guest host Ro break down episodes 5 and 6 of the third season of The L Word Generation Q. Both hosts agree episode 5 was rather stagnant, with both hoping we get to see more of the character Dre in the future. Episode 6, the musical episode, is a big hit with Ro, an avid fan of musicals. While Amanda has mixed feelings about the episode as a whole, she agrees the reunion with Dana makes the whole ep worth it. To skip ahead to the episode 6 recap, go to the 15:30 mark. The L Word Generation Q | Season 3 Episode 4 Recap with Torrie O'neil Host Amanda Costner and guest host Torrie O'neil break down S3 Episode 4 of The L Word Generation Q. It was the big Halloween episode, but Torrie isn't too impressed with the cast member's costumes (of course other than Dolly). Both hosts agree the return of Max is a high point of the episode, with Torrie confessing this episode is the most she has liked Micah's character since the reboot. Amanda doesn't understand Roxy's nickname for Dani (D-bag?) and Torrie doesn't want Roxy and Dani to be "a thing" (Dani isn't the only one who hasn't gotten over #gini). Plus, both hosts give their thoughts on Alice and Taylor's big night in, as well as the whole Shane-Ivy-Tess scandal. When it comes to Gigi and Nat, Sarah defends their closeness and thinks it's a realistic plotline, while Amanda sides with the Gini stans. Ranking Every The L Word: Gen Q Character with Ash Silver & Evelyn Dar The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 is set to debut in less than a week. YouTubers Ash Silver and Evelyn Dar join Amanda live on her YouTube channel to discuss a yahoo.com article ranking every character from The L Word Gen Q. As the discussion gets going, right away it's obvious the article is pretty bad, with all three hosts questioning whether the author had watched the show or not. Amanda goes through each ranking, from the 'worst' character on the show to the 'best'. Sometimes the hosts all three agree the ranking is wrong, while other times they think the blogger got it right. Evelyn disagrees with Ash and Amanda that Dani is a top-tier character (hot take). And Ash has some things to say about why fans don't like Sophie, while Amanda is in absolute shock at the way Carrie (played by Rosie O'Donnell) is treated by the author. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 8 Recap with Agus (LeLop) and Amy Nico Schwartz Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own comes to a season 1 end in this dramatic finale. For the final recap of season one host Amanda Costner is joined by YouTuber Agus, who's channel LeLop has covered the show extensively. She is also joined by guest host Amy Nico Schwartz, a Chicago producer, comedian, actor and writer. The three discuss each beat of the finale, answering difficult questions and laughing a lot along the way. Agus, who started watching the show before watching the movie A League of their Own, offers a unique perspective on the series. Amy brings her background in stand-up and improv to the podcast as well. Everyone agrees Clance and Max have a lot of fun this episode. Amanda hopes we see more Clance and Shirl in the future. Amy and Agus love that Carson has the team writing their names on the lockerroom wall--Amanda jokes about how small the list is. Both Amy and Agus love the decisions the writers made towards the end of the finale, particularly concerning Jo. Although Amanda has some hesitations about those same decisions. At the end of the podcast all three hosts give their opinions on the season as a whole, as well as what they'd like to see in season 2. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 7 Recap with Ro Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own continues to do well ratings-wise. In this podcast host Amanda Costner is joined by the First Lady of LezCast--Ro (Amanda's wife). The two of them discuss the beats of episode seven, comparing various plotlines to their relationship, like how fun it can be to competitively flirt with someone the way Max flirts with Esther. Both agree episode 7 is a nice, light-hearted relief from the emotional turmoil that takes place in episode 6. Amanda doesn't understand why Lupe having lost her child would make her be so harsh on Esti, while Roshni explains that Lupe was probably projecting, and having a hard time coming to terms with her past. Ro and Amanda can't give Jess enough flowers--they love her, they love her as a hot lesbian mechanic, and they love how she orchestrates the talk between Lupe and Esti on the side of the road. The two hosts have a discussion around Charlie and his relationship with Carson--they agree that it was good for the show to not make him a villain, that would be less interesting and less realistic. They also do some fangirling over the Max/Esther relationship. Of course there is talk of Jo/Greta and much more to do with A League of Their Own! A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 6 Recap with KJ Whitehead VOTE FOR KJ (Keenan Thompson's Ultimate Comedy Experience): https://bit.ly/3TBu05o LezCast is back recapping episode six of the first season of A League of Their Own! This episode is particularly filled with a lot of emotional turmoil. Both KJ and Amanda discuss how hard and intense it was watching the episode. And with the way things are going in our country, KJ is reminded by the episode that no matter where you fit in, in the LGBTQ+ acronym, you would have been thrown in jail during that time. Amanda and KJ breakdown the beats of the episode, and of course the consistent referencing of The Wizard of Oz. KJ explains how different black people and white people can view things, and is not surprised when Clance see's Dorothy as the villain of The Wizard of Oz. KJ talks about the intersectionality the show is portraying, and that she didn't expect that necessarily from Abbi Jacobson. Amanda and KJ love the character of Bert. They see him as a smooth, cool, well-dressed cat and KJ brings up how important Bert is to Max's character, and how important representation is in general. Both hosts are emotional as the ending to episode 6 is discussed. There's a lot of fear, pain and questioning of what will happen next. But one thing is for sure, both hosts agree Rosie O'Donnell's portrayal of Vi was well done, and hope to see more Vi in the future. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 5 Recap with Nika & Ro Host Amanda Costner and guest hosts Ro and Nika break down episode 5 of Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own. As usual episode 5 had a lot of content, stories and character development. So it's down to the "dream team" to discuss it all! Nika "the hater" actually loves this series, unlike First Kill, she thinks ALOTO has done a great job developing characters and introducing us to their world. In this episode, Max goes through a lot dealing with her identity, queerness as well as her relationship with her mother, Toni. Ro and Amanda both relate to the desire to act straight and the fear that comes with realizing you're gay. All three agree the episode addresses the struggles and issues Max faces in a quality way. The trio also discuss the ongoing plotline between Carson and Greta, as well as the frustration Lupe goes through being blamed for last episodes team brawl. Amanda doesn't understand why Lupe has to take the fall, while Nika disagrees and see's some merit in her getting blamed. All three agree there is racism involved with the way Lupe is being treated. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 4 Recap with Amy McCann Host Amanda Costner and guest host, professional baseball player Amy McCann dive into episode four of Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own. Amy goes into personal detail about what it was like growing up in Australia as a girl who wants to play baseball, finding the characters of A League of Their Own relatable in their desire to play ball as well as their struggle to find a way to play. Amy gives a unique point of view--she's lived the experience the series is portraying, in every way, down to her actually meeting and falling in love with her wife while they were playing baseball together. How accurate is the ball playing on the field? How good of a job are the actors in this show doing at pretending to be professional baseball players? Amy answers all of these questions and more. Not only that, but Amy has studied a lot about the history of women in baseball, she points out that the first night game at Wrigley Field was actually played by women. Amanda jokes that maybe Amy has been feeding the A League of Their Own writer's room her personal stories, they sound so similar. Episode four dives into Clance and Guy's struggle to come to terms with him being drafted to go to war. Max fights for her right to play on the Screws baseball team, which Amy and Amanda have different interpretations of. Amy thinks Max just wasn't quite ready for the big tryout. Amanda thinks it was a whiff, she choked. Both acknowledge there were psychological elements at play. Gretson have their big hookup moment in episode 4. Amy and Amanda have a lot of fun discussing their relationship and how both characters are progressing in the season. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 3 Recap with Ida-Ellen Sansom Every recap host Amanda Costner and a new guest break down the episode, discussing major plot points, characters and storylines. In season one, episode three of Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own, Carson contends with the struggle that is her decision to turn down being more than friends with Greta. Max struggles with juggling two jobs, at one point turning to Leah for help with how to handle her mom and what to do about the Salon. And Clance struggles with how to reveal a major, life-changing letter her and her husband Guy received in the mail. Throughout the recap both hosts give their unabashed opinions. Ida thinks Greta has been through a situation like the one she's in with Carson before (perhaps even more than once or twice...). Amanda answers a question she'd had in an earlier recap, deciding that, yes, Greta is playing games with Carson. Later in the recap both hosts reveal personal connections they have to the episode--Amanda as a former professional golfer and Ida as someone who had to contend with wanting more. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 2 Recap with Erin Hosts Amanda Costner and Erin recap Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own, episode two. Max is really the star of the second episode of the season--Erin and Amanda both give their takes on why Max is so great. Amanda brings up the fact that Max's character is based off of three African-American women who played baseball in the Negro American League. Erin likes Max and Clance together. Another interesting character takes the focus in this episode: Vivian Hughes, the wealthy older woman who gives some of the ladies a speech on how she made it to the top, and what she did in order to afford some freedom in a male-dominated world. Erin feels some regret for Greta's character soaking this in so hard, and how it will effect her down the road... Both hosts have a laugh at the ridiculousness of all the measures the players were made to go through by the owners of the league, like wearing skirts while playing baseball. Amanda acts out the horror in her mind following Erin's answer to why she would never play ball in a skirt. The episode ends in a pretty GAY fashion--of course this is discussed, analyzed and gushed over. Plus, Erin and Amanda give their overall thoughts on the show so far, and who is standing out to them as a character so far. This show is available in video format on our YouTube channel. A League of Their Own | Season 1 Episode 1 Recap with Ro Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own stars Abbi Jacobson as a 1940's American woman who hops on a train to Chicago in order to try out for the first ever All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. In this podcast host Amanda Costner is joined by Ro, an avid fan of the show, and Amanda's wife. The two break down the pilot episode of the show, discussing the new characters, plotlines as well as the things that were clear references to the 1992 movie. Both Ro and Amanda are high on the episode, although Amanda disagrees with Ro that there's nothing missing from the TV show and thinks there's a noticeable difference without all the star power that the movie had. Both discuss being surprised at how queer the opening episode is, and how many cast members appear to be lgbtq. When discussing the setting and historic nature of the show, both hosts agree it feels special knowing they live in the same city all this was rooted in--with the tryouts being held in Chicago. The character Max interests them both, however in different ways. Ro see's Max as having a lot of grace considering the unfair treatment she's received (Max is not allowed to tryout for the league because she is black). While Amanda views Max as more raw and having trouble containing her frustration for the situation she is in. This podcast is available in video form on our YouTube channel. First Kill Season 1 Episode 5 Recap with Ro Host Amanda Costner is joined by avid wlw content fan, her wife Ro! Episode Notes First Kill | Season 1 Episode 1 Recap with Ash Silver Amanda Costner is joined by YouTuber and The L Word expert Ash Silver to discuss the pilot episode of Netflix' newest popular teen drama, First Kill. We discuss the evolution of lesbian television content, how relatable or believable we find the plot and characters as well as the dynamics of the actors and special effects. First Kill debuted on Netflix and is ranked as one of the top 10 shows being streamed on their platform right now. It has taken the lesbian and wlw community by storm, with queer women flocking in droves to watch Juliette and Cal literally fight for their love. First Kill is also being commended for having great representation onscreen--a lesbian couple, a gay best friend, and none of it seems to matter or cause the audience to feel depressed because the gay thing isn't a big deal!
