This week on Heavy Metal Tones it's an all-out Extreme Metal Triple Episode – three voices, three visions, and three crushing perspectives from the darker side of heavy music.First up, I dive into the mind of Nergal, the creative force behind Behemoth. We talk conviction, controversy, creativity, and what it truly means to stand defiantly in your art no matter the cost. Then things get theatrical and unholy with Graf Von Beelzebub of Mystic Circle, as we explore the dark mysticism, occult imagery, and bombastic black metal that has defined their legacy. And flying the Australian extreme flag, I sit down with Elliot Sansom from Melbourne's melodic death metal masters Be'lakor. We break down atmosphere, songwriting depth, and how the band continues to evolve their epic, emotionally charged sound.Three conversations. Three different shades of extreme. From blackened fury to melodic despair, this episode showcases just how vast and powerful the extreme metal landscape truly is.Turn it up, embrace the darkness, and welcome to the extreme side of Heavy Metal Tones.

Taken from Learning You FB:"Did you know that every dollar of our profit is being given away?Learning You was created to build awareness for those who may not yet see or understand the lives of autistic individuals, to foster connection for parents and caregivers who often feel alone, and to offer tangible moments where families of special needs can come together, feel welcomed, and experience the gift of “normal” time side-by-side."My guest today is Tyler Sansom, the filmmaker behind Learning You. We talk about how a deeply personal script became an authentic portrayal of autism on screen, why avoiding Hollywood stereotypes mattered, and the meaning behind the film's powerful “sandcastle moment.” Tyler also shares what it truly looks like to care for someone who is profoundly autistic, along with reflections on faith, empathy, and the mission-driven decision to donate 100% of the film's profits to support families through the ACT initiative—reminding us why learning one another matters more than making assumptions.Learning You Movie https://www.learningyoumovie.comLocations & Times https://www.learningyoumovie.com/theatershowingsmap.aspx?subheadertext=Locations+and+TimesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningyoumovieTyler Sansom FB: https://www.facebook.com/tyler.sansom.98First Capital Films: https://www.facebook.com/fcfilms00:00 Tyler Sansom & “Learning You” origin story (how it landed at the film company)01:35 Making autism authentic (avoiding “Hollywood savant” stereotypes; lived reality + caregivers)03:14 The “Sandcastle Moment” scene (storm, meltdown, and the parent realization)04:50 Film company background: pastor/filmmaker, 5 feature films, building momentum since 201605:53 100% profits donated + why (mission model; I CAN → orphans; Learning You → autism support)06:38 ACT initiative explained (Awareness–Connection–Touch; counseling/resources/respite; 15-city rollout)10:00 Casting & working with autistic actors (Caleb vs. Seth; accommodations; overstimulation + breaks)13:17 How to find ACT/Thrive + Feb 3 launch (website/FB group; resources for caregivers)14:26 Faith in film: subtle “wrestle,” not preachy (sparking conversation, not a sermon)16:00 Institutionalization & the hard realities of profound autism (care forever; society's blind spot)17:13 Where to watch: theaters → streaming timeline (window ends ~Feb 20; streaming late March)17:58 Biggest takeaway: “learn one another” (empathy over assumptions; why the title matters)19:33 Division, black-and-white thinking, and living in the “gray” (judgment vs understanding)21:36 Personal close: Pakistan trip + freeing families from slavery (what he's looking forward to)X: https://x.com/rps47586YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGxEzLKXkjppo3nqmpXpzuAemail: info.fromthespectrum@gmail.com

INTERVIEW: Mia Sansom & Riley Allardice from Mellowing on debut album 'some things can't be unsaid' by Zac Hoffman on Radio One 91FM Dunedin
Program Director Adam Borneman speaks with the Rev. Dr. Joe Scrivner (Stillman College, Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church), Lauren Floyd (Khora Counseling), and Dr. Stephen Sansom about authenticity and belonging, the digital challenge to proximity, and the critical importance of showing up.
As an autistic advocate and OT mom, few films hit as close to home as Learning You, a new autism‑centered movie opening in theaters nationwide on January 16, 2026. This special episode of Adulting With Autism features actor John Wells and director Tyler Sansom, sharing the heart behind a story that follows a father's journey to truly see his autistic son—and himself—through the lens of faith, family, and hard‑earned understanding. Inspired by real experiences of parents raising children with special needs, Learning You highlights family strength, resilience, and the hope that grows when someone finally feels seen. The film is brought to life by a cast and crew that intentionally includes parents and individuals from the autism community, adding rare authenticity to the screen. You'll hear about performances from John Wells (also a real‑life dad to an autistic son), WWE legend Al Snow (grandfather to autistic grandchildren), Caleb Milby, Stacy Haiduk (Days of Our Lives), Daniel Roebuck (Matlock), Cameron Arnett (The Forge), and Read Choi, among others. Directed and produced by Tyler Sansom, with a screenplay by J. Wayne Davidson, Justen Overlander (The Chosen), Sansom, and Brad J. Silverman (Grace Unplugged), this film is more than entertainment—it's a mission project. One hundred percent of proceeds go to ACT (Awareness, Connection, Touch), a nonprofit supporting parents of children with autism and other special needs, making every ticket a form of practical support as well as representation. In this episode, we talk about: How Learning You was born from real stories of special needs families John's experience as both an actor and a father to an autistic son Tyler's vision of film as a ministry of encouragement for caregivers and parents Why authentic casting and crew representation matter in autism storytelling How proceeds support ACT's work with families in the autism and special needs community If you care about autism acceptance, faith‑informed storytelling, and inclusive media, this episode will give you a behind‑the‑scenes look at a film created with our community at the center. If this episode resonates, follow/subscribe to Adulting With Autism on Podbean, Apple, or Spotify and leave a 5‑star review so more families, caregivers, and autistic adults can find it. Can We Agree on What Skilled Mindfulness-Based Teaching Looks Like? Lessons from Studying the MBI:TACIn this episode, Dr. Jud Brewer and Dr. Rebecca Crane explore the Mindfulness-Based Interventions: Teaching Assessment Criteria (MBI:TAC), a widely used tool for assessing the competence of mindfulness-based program (MBP) teachers. As mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) gain popularity in clinical and workplace settings, ensuring teaching integrity and program fidelity becomes increasingly important. This study tested a training model to help mindfulness teachers reliably assess MBP teaching quality. The findings show that international MBP teachers can align their understanding of teaching competence, paving the way for standardized mindfulness education. Tune in to learn how mindfulness training is evolving to maintain high standards in research and practice.Full Reference:Crane, R. S., Hecht, F. M., Brewer, J. A., Griffith, G. Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake 425 years ago this month. His crime? Radical thinking which clashed with the ideas of the Roman Catholic church. But his extraordinarily colourful life, ideas and tragic fate continue to resonate in our modern understanding of the universe and the ongoing tension between scientific inquiry and religious authority.Professor Suzannah Lipscomb is joined by best-selling author S.J. Parris - pen-name for journalist Stephanie Merritt - who has written a series of novels with Bruno as the main protagonist.
