We break down one of the most unbelievable NBA Finals games in recent memory as the Knicks storm back from a 29-point deficit to beat the Spurs in Game 4 and take a 3-1 series lead. We go through how the comeback unfolded, the key turning points, and the wild betting implications around the game, including massive live movement on ProphetX that saw the Knicks priced as high as 30-1 mid-game. We also dive into the ongoing Jeff Nadu situation following the $1 betting discussion that's been circulating online, including his response and the broader back-and-forth with Circles Off. On top of that, we get into prediction market discourse around hedging behavior and whether certain strategies are being misunderstood or misrepresented. Hosted by Jacob Gramegna, joined by Isaac Rose-Berman, Shipper, and Thon Misser.
How do you protect your logistics business when changing trade policies and shifting corporate liability fundamentally reshape the industry? In this episode, let's uncover the operational realities of nearshoring trends, evaluating how changing truck volumes and cross-border corridors impact your long-term procurement strategy, and the recent Texas Supreme Court decision involving shipper liability that could drastically alter how brokers and carriers manage risk mitigation moving forward! Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's camp sending a legal warning to Underdog over a foul-baiting board game has sparked a much larger conversation about where the line is between creative sports content and athlete representation rights. Jacob Gramegna, Chris Dierkes, Mike (Peanut Bettor), and Shipper break down what actually happened, why Underdog is refusing to back down, and what this says about how sports brands, players, and platforms are colliding in real time. The crew also dives into a major betting exchange controversy involving bot errors and inconsistent market voiding decisions. When obvious pricing mistakes happen, should exchanges always void the market to protect fairness, or should every bet stand once it's matched? That debate leads into a broader discussion on market integrity, prediction markets, and whether the industry applies rules consistently or selectively depending on who benefits.
Dan Shipper is the co-founder and CEO of Every, a media and software company that's become a living laboratory for the future of work. Everyone at his company of about 30 people is an AI early adopter; from editors to ops people, they use AI to do much of their work, giving Every a unique lens into where the world is heading. A year ago on this show, Dan predicted that people were sleeping on Claude Code for nontechnical work, which proved to be remarkably prescient. Today he's back with another set of calls: the SaaS apocalypse is dumb, CLIs are over, the forward deployed engineer is the most valuable new hire, and the only thing you need to do to stay employed is ride the models.Dan's predictions:1. The future of work will happen inside Codex or Claude Code.2. Every company will have one “super-agent” inside their Slack that every employee talks to regularly.3. SaaS is not dead—in fact, Dan is bullish on SaaS stocks. His contrarian take: “I would buy SaaS stocks right now.”4. SaaS economics will shift: users will bring their own AI tokens into apps, which actually improves SaaS margins.5. PMs will thrive in the AI era.6. Full-stack designers will become superheroes.7. The AI job apocalypse is not happening.8. Forward deployed engineer is the new most essential role.9. CLIs are over.10. Automation is a lie.11. We will read way more AI-generated writing and we will like it.12. In an industry that often treats drivers as invisible data points, it's time for a revolutionary shift. Today, I'm joined by Kathy Young and Amanda Barlow, the founders of Cargo Girls and the creators of TrukOptiks. They aren't just moving freight; they are building the technology to humanize it. TrukOptiks is a first-of-its-kind platform that recognizes the success of the individual driver rather than just the carrier company. We dive into how TKO provides shippers with a critical security layer through visual confirmation of drivers and equipment, while giving drivers a digital profile to showcase their specific skills and certifications. We discuss the forensic reality of "Total Trucking Transparency," the end of driver identity theft, and why empowering the person behind the wheel is the only way to accelerate the supply chain in 2026. Inside this Episode: The Individual Profile: Why drivers need a digital "resume" to showcase their rig and skills. The Shipper Dashboard: Prioritizing shipments with visual confirmation of the actual driver. Killing Identity Theft: How TrukOptiks adds a physical security layer to digital vetting. Paperless Logistics: Digitally managing certifications and load paperwork on the app. The Cargo Girls Vision: Why former asset owners are best positioned to build driver-centric tech. About Kathy Young Kathy is the Owner and President of Immediate Power, operating as Cargo Girls, and the Owner and President of TrukOptiks. With over 25 years in the logistics industry, she brings a wealth of experience, grit, and a deep understanding of what it takes to keep freight moving the right way. At the heart of it all, Kathy is family-driven. Through her leadership and dedication, the business has grown into a proud third-generation, family-owned and operated company—something she's poured years of hard work into building and sustaining. She's known for her strong work ethic, straightforward leadership style, and passion for making a real impact in the industry. Whether she's leading her team or working to bring more transparency and trust into freight through TrukOptiks, Kathy shows up every day with purpose and pride. About Amanda Barlow Amanda is the Vice President of Operations for Cargo Girls and plays a key role in bringing TrukOptiks to life, working behind the scenes to turn big ideas into real, working solutions. Before stepping into the freight world, Amanda spent 14 years in Human Resources, building a strong foundation in people, processes, and leadership. But it wasn't until she made the leap to Cargo Girls that she truly found her passion. Since then, she's fully immersed herself in the logistics industry and hasn't looked back. Amanda is known for her attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to keep everything running smoothly. She's the one making sure the vision actually happens—balancing operations, innovation, and growth every step of the way. Her dedication and drive continue to play a huge role in the success and future of both Cargo Girls and TrukOptiks. In "The Rise of Freight Orchestration with GoodShip's Derek Netelenbos", Joe Lynch and Derek Netelenbos, VP of Partnerships at GoodShip, discuss how an orchestration layer unifies fragmented data to shift logistics from reactive manual tasks to proactive, AI-driven strategy. About Derek Netelenbos Derek Netelenbos is the VP of Partnerships at GoodShip, the all-in-one platform for freight orchestration and procurement, built for transportation teams, by transportation teams. Derek brings extensive experience building and scaling partnerships and revenue organizations across the logistics and technology sectors. Prior to GoodShip, Derek held leadership roles at Parade, Metafora, Convoy, Groupon and Expedia, where he built and led high-performing teams across sales, sales operations, business development, account management, and strategic partnerships. About GoodShip GoodShip is the all-in-one platform for freight orchestration and procurement, built for transportation teams, by transportation teams. GoodShip unifies freight data, surfaces real-time insights, and helps teams move from reactive decision-making to coordinated, data-driven execution. With the recent launch of Laney, the industry's first AI Transportation Analyst, teams can ask questions about their network and receive in-depth answers in seconds through an intuitive, conversational interface. Key Takeaways: The Rise of Freight Orchestration In "The Rise of Freight Orchestration with GoodShip's Derek Netelenbos", Joe Lynch and Derek Netelenbos, VP of Partnerships at GoodShip, discuss how an orchestration layer unifies fragmented data to shift logistics from reactive manual tasks to proactive, AI-driven strategy. The "Orchestration" Solution: GoodShip acts as an orchestration layer that unifies disparate data from TMS, ERP, WMS, and visibility platforms. This allows teams to move from reactive, fragmented decision-making to coordinated, data-driven execution. Automated Scorecarding: One of the biggest pain points discussed was the manual effort required to create carrier scorecards. GoodShip automates this process, providing a "single source of truth" that both shippers and carriers can view simultaneously to ensure transparency and performance alignment. Laney, the AI Analyst: GoodShip introduced Laney, an embedded AI agent that allows users to ask complex, unstructured questions about their freight network. Instead of sifting through pivot tables, users can ask Laney to simulate scenarios—like the cost implications of reallocating volume from an underperforming carrier. Modernizing the RFP Process: Traditionally, RFPs were "root canal" events done once a year due to their complexity. GoodShip streamlines procurement, allowing shippers to run more frequent (e.g., quarterly) mini-bids with high-fidelity data, which reduces risk for carriers and leads to more resilient pricing. Expansion to LSPs and Brokers: While GoodShip started with a focus on shippers, the platform has officially expanded to help Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and brokers. This helps the "sell side" respond to bids more efficiently and manage their own carrier networks with better intelligence. Rapid Deployment via Flat Files: To avoid the long implementation cycles common in logistics tech, GoodShip specializes in ingesting "flat file" data (spreadsheets, scraped emails, etc.). This allows them to go from contract signing to full deployment in just three to four weeks. Data as an Asset: Derek emphasized that every company's historical operating history is a "gold mine" of insights. Orchestration is the process of mining that data to uncover hidden efficiencies that were previously buried in tribal knowledge or disconnected systems. Every has unveiled a new product, built by CEO Dan Shipper. It's called Proof, a free, open-source, live collaborative document editor built for humans and AI agents to work in together. Proof started as a Mac app designed to show the provenance of AI-written text—purple for AI, green for human. But when Shipper rebuilt it as a web app with real-time collaboration, something clicked. Suddenly, everyone at Every was using it for everything from planning docs, to creative writing and even daily to-do lists. The team realized they needed a lightweight space where their OpenClaw agents and humans could co-author documents and leave comments. In this special episode, Shipper is joined by Every chief operating officer Brandon Gell, Cora general manager Kieran Klaassen, and head of growth Austin Tedesco to demo Proof live and share how it's changed the way they work. Brandon walks through a loop where his Codex agent writes a plan, Dan's personal Claw R2-C2 reviews it, and the humans just steer. Austin explains how he uses Proof to write a weekly food newsletter, texting ideas to his Claw on runs and watching an outline take shape. And Kieran makes the case that Proof's power is its lightness—just a link you can hand to any agent or colleague. The conversation covers what "agent native" means in practice, why AX (agent experience) matters as much as UX (user experience), what happens when 10 agents edit one document at the same time, and why some writing is now better read by an AI than a human. If you found this episode interesting, please like, subscribe, comment, and share!Want even more?Sign up for Every to unlock our ultimate guide to prompting ChatGPT here: https://every.ck.page/ultimate-guide-to-prompting-chatgpt. “Why did you launch yet another voice dictation app?” I asked Dan Shipper, founder of Every. I thought he’d tell me that there was some kind of research that showed people needed another one. Nah. It came down to his team’s taste and personal preference. They just wanted something different. So a single creator on the team built it. AI makes it easier for more people to create apps. So what’s the differentiator? From what I got in this interview — over and over — it’s the creator’s taste. Dan Shipper is the founder and CEO of Every, a hybrid media and software company creating AI-powered tools for productivity and creativity. The company publishes one of the most widely read newsletters on technology and builds products like Monologue (AI dictation), Spiral (AI ghostwriting), and Cora (AI email assistant). Leveraging Shipper Intent Data to Win More Freight", Joe Lynch and Rob Light, CEO & Co-founder at CarrierSource, discuss how their platform provides the real-time intent signals and AI tools necessary to turn passive interest into high-value revenue. About Rob Light Robert Light is the CEO and a Co-Founder of CarrierSource, the leading review website for brokers and carriers. Rob has been building CarrierSource for the past five years, and prior to that was an early employee at the software review website G2.com. At G2, Rob saw the power of customer reviews and how small businesses could leverage the voice of their customers to compete with the largest companies in the space. He's excited to bring this same opportunity to logistics and transportation. About CarrierSource CarrierSource is revolutionizing the freight industry with real-time Shipper Intent Data and AI-powered Research Agents. For the first time, brokers and carriers can see when a shipper is searching for capacity, viewing competitor profiles, or interacting with their own listing. These signals empower teams to engage high-intent prospects at exactly the right moment, turning passive interest into closed business. With Research Agents, teams can go from shipper intent signal to context to outreach in minutes, bridging the gap between intent and action. CarrierSource is built on top of the first truly two-sided review marketplace. Brokers and carriers can review each other, and shippers can find freight partners through verified reviews, FMCSA safety and insurance data, and detailed company profiles. With over 75,000 reviews across 40,000+ brokers and carriers, CarrierSource is where reputations are built. It's now also where intent turns into revenue. Key Takeaways: Leveraging Shipper Intent Data to Win More Freight Leveraging Shipper Intent Data to Win More Freight", Joe Lynch and Rob Light, CEO & Co-founder at CarrierSource, discuss how their platform provides the real-time intent signals and AI tools necessary to turn passive interest into high-value revenue. Real-Time Shipper Intent is the New Gold: The most critical factor in winning freight is knowing when a shipper is actively in the market. CarrierSource provides real-time signals—such as a shipper searching for capacity or viewing a competitor's profile—allowing brokers and carriers to engage prospects at the precise moment of highest intent. AI Closes the Intent-to-Action Gap: The platform utilizes AI-powered Research Agents to bridge the gap between signal and outreach. This technology ensures that teams can move from identifying an intent signal to gathering necessary context and initiating an informed outreach effort in minutes. Reputation is the Foundation for Conversion: Rob Light's experience at G2 highlights the power of customer voice. CarrierSource is built on a two-sided review marketplace with over 75,000 reviews, establishing that a verified and strong reputation is essential for converting a high-intent prospect into closed business. Democratizing the Competitive Edge: The technology empowers smaller and mid-sized brokers and carriers. By providing access to high-value intent data and leveraging the voice of their customers through reviews, they can effectively compete head-to-head with the largest companies in the logistics space. A Holistic View Wins the Business: Winning freight requires more than just knowing intent; it demands credibility. The platform integrates real-time intent data with essential compliance information, including verified reviews, FMCSA safety data, and insurance details, providing a comprehensive profile for shippers. The Shift to a Proactive Revenue Model: The industry is shifting from a reactive approach (waiting for RFPs) to a proactive one. CarrierSource enables a model where "intent turns into revenue," fundamentally changing the sales motion from passive interest tracking to immediate, targeted engagement. Leverage Reviews to Compete on Par: A core lesson from Rob's previous work is that customer reviews are a powerful tool to level the playing field. By making the voice of the customer central to the partner selection process, brokers and carriers of all sizes can use their established service reputation to secure new freight opportunities. What if you knew a shipper was actively searching for capacity before they ever reached out?In this episode, I'm joined by Kevin Hill, longtime freight media voice and now part of the team at CarrierSource, to talk about one of the most powerful tools in freight prospecting today: shipper intent data.We break down how CarrierSource tracks shipper behavior across thousands of lane and equipment type searches, how sales teams are using that intel to target better, and why this kind of visibility flips the old “spray and pray” approach on its head. Kevin also walks us through how carrier sales reps are using the platform daily to find, vet, and build relationships with high-performing carriers — all based on real reviews and data, not just FMCSA basics. This episode is a playbook for using smarter data to close more freight.______________________________________________
In “Beyond the Mega Shipper: Finding Untapped Demand”, Joe Lynch and Shan Wu, Co-founder of breadd.ai, discuss the massive, yet often overlooked, opportunity in the mid-market. This essential pivot from chaotic prospecting to laser-focused selling is what breadd.ai helps brokers achieve. About Shan Wu Shan Wu is the cofounder of breadd.ai. As a lifelong sales rep, Shan has sold anything from billion dollar payment contracts to "nothing": cold calling for donations as a telefundraiser – and he still argues freight is the hardest thing to sell. He believes there's enough for everyone to eat in freight today – it's just in the mid-market while everyone fights for the top 100 shippers. So he has built breadd.ai to help brokers operationalize a winning sales strategy, in a brainlessly easy way. About breadd.ai breadd.ai helps brokers sell freight in any market. Today, more than 100 brokers wake up to a list of shipper leads every morning, without lifting a finger. Each shipper is pre-qualified to fit their niche, and fully researched with facilities, decision makers, and phone numbers that get picked up. All you have to do is wake up and call. Stop prospecting and start selling – get your free trial today at breadd.ai. Key Takeaways: Beyond the Mega Shipper: Finding Untapped Demand In “Beyond the Mega Shipper: Finding Untapped Demand”, Joe Lynch and Shan Wu, Co-founder of breadd.ai, discuss the massive, yet often overlooked, opportunity in the mid-market. This essential pivot from chaotic prospecting to laser-focused selling is what breadd.ai helps brokers achieve. The Mid-Market is the True Untapped Demand: Shan Wu argues that brokers and carriers should shift their focus beyond the mega shipper. The real opportunity and profitability in freight lies in the highly addressable, but less fiercely contested, mid-market, where there is "enough for everyone to eat." Freight is the Hardest Sale: Drawing on his experience selling everything from "nothing" to billion-dollar contracts, Shan believes freight sales are uniquely challenging. This perspective highlights the critical need for a new, efficient sales strategy to succeed in the current logistics landscape. Operationalize Your Sales Strategy: The path to winning in the mid-market is not just hustle, but structure. Brokers must adopt a "brainlessly easy" and operationalized winning sales strategy to move away from chaotic, inefficient cold outreach. The Shift: Stop Prospecting, Start Selling: The goal of modern sales tools like breadd.ai is to eliminate the time-consuming grunt work of finding and qualifying leads. The key takeaway for brokers is the mandate to transition their daily activities from prospecting (researching) to pure selling (calling and closing). Niche-Fitting and Pre-Qualification are Non-Negotiable: Untapped demand isn't just about finding any new shipper; it's about finding the right one. Success hinges on receiving leads that are pre-qualified to fit a broker's specific niche and lane requirements. Leverage Research for Higher Pickup Rates: Breadd.ai's model demonstrates the value of full lead research. Targeting specific decision-makers with verified phone numbers significantly increases the chances of a successful conversation and closes the loop on truly finding "tapped" demand. Technology as the Equalizer: The power of AI isn't just in load matching; it's in sales enablement. Shan's vision for breadd.ai shows how technology can empower over 100 brokers daily to compete effectively by waking up to a ready-to-call list of researched leads, leveling the playing field against larger competitors. Jeff Carlson of Cass Information Systems is back in today's episode to discuss the extended shipper payment cycle and its potential impact on startups and small carriers in the industry! Stay connected to the show for more market updates! Here's What to Learn From This Episode: Freight Market Stabilization: Freight volumes and rates showing stability in 2024; CAS Freight Index indicates steady average transaction sizes. Minor fluctuations noted during events (e.g., DOT blitz week) may signal capacity shifts. Extended Shipper Payment Terms: Shippers shifting focus to cash position; increasing payment terms up to 120 days. Large enterprises favor financial stability with carriers, making it tougher for startups to enter the market without proven track records. Supply chain finance programs target transportation to improve liquidity. Impact on Small Carriers: Small/startup carriers advised to avoid enterprise shippers initially to build stability; extended receivables and large credit lines are essential for handling substantial accounts. Effective cash flow management is critical; recommend lines of credit or factoring to prevent negative cash flow amid extended payment terms. About Jeff Carlson Jeff joined Cass Information Systems in April of 2019 as Vice President Global Sales & Marketing. Jeff joined Cass with more than 20 years' experience in the freight payment industry, where he served in several strategic management roles. While at U.S. Bank, he played a significant role in the development of key aspects of the PowerTrack solution, pricing model, and marketing and sales processes. He also was part of the supply chain finance team to help build out aspects of that service offering. Jeff also served as a vice president of the technology, consumer products/retail, and manufacturing industry verticals at freight payment provider Trax Technologies. Prior to his experience in the freight payment industry, Jeff spent time with Dart Trucking, Canadian Pacific Railroad after starting his career at Koch Industries. Website: https://www.cassinfo.com/

He shared the many experiences, from what it's like driving in the city, to what he's enjoyed about his time in the industry. Josh and his brother Zach, who will join us on a later show, are third generation truck drivers. It was great to hear the experience of someone who sets off on a career that is full of wild experiences, but is also very reliable. This conversation was incredible, and so were the many stories he shared with the guys. We hope you enjoy it!
