Hawk recaps the first 48 minutes of a recent Joe Rogan Experience episode featuring comedian Jim Brewer, and it does not disappoint. Joe Rogan and Jim Brewer open with the redacted Jeffrey Epstein autopsy report, zeroing in on a medical detail — Epstein allegedly had no prostate — while the body that was autopsied reportedly did. That discrepancy fuels a lengthy Epstein body double theory, with Rogan firmly believing Jeffrey Epstein is alive and living in Israel. A newly surfaced DOJ email in which an assistant US attorney refers to investigating the murder of Jeffrey Epstein adds another layer to the confusion, since Rogan and Brewer don't even think Epstein is dead. The Epstein files also reference hidden hard drives stashed in storage units across the country, which somehow leads Rogan into a rant about Storage Wars being fake. The conversation then shifts to baseball, steroids, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and the Balco lab before arriving at what Hawk calls the centerpiece of the episode: the Tall Biden Conspiracy. Jim Brewer believes Joe Biden has been dead for years, replaced by a taller body double in a Biden mask whose gait, height, and eye color were all noticeably different from the real Biden. Rogan conducts a full physical analysis of video footage. Neither man detects the irony of warning against conspiracy theories moments later. Hawk reflects on his own history with the Joe Rogan podcast, including a 2020 episode with Dr. Michael Osterholm that accurately predicted COVID's devastating toll — before Rogan went off the rails with COVID conspiracies, antivax rhetoric, and guests like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Robert Malone. Hawk watched Donald Trump's State of the Union address on February 24, 2026, then watched the Democratic response delivered by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, and came away far angrier at the Democrats than at Trump. While Trump's behavior was predictable, the Democratic response was scripted, sanitized, and shockingly silent on the most damning facts about a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, and fraudster who was indicted 91 times across four jurisdictions, convicted on 34 felony counts for interfering with the 2016 election, incited the January 6th insurrection, and whose company was convicted of 17 fraud-related felonies. Spanberger never said the words convicted felon, rapist, fraudster, fascist, authoritarian, or genocide. She did not mention Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, or the ICE killings of Renee Good, Alex Prey, or Keith Porter. She did not call Trump a liar. She did not mention that he pardoned January 6th insurrectionists, ignored the Constitution, or is dismantling democracy. Meanwhile, Raphael Warnock, when given time on air, immediately named Epstein, called out the administration's wickedness, and spoke to the transfer of wealth from the bottom 75% to the top 1%. Hawk argues Warnock, or the young Somali woman from Minneapolis who spoke plainly about racism and murder, should have delivered the response instead. Congressman Al Green was physically removed from the House floor for holding a sign reading "Black people are not apes," while Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and every other Democrat sat silent. Hawk also points to the DNC's own post-2024 autopsy confirming that Democratic support for Israel's actions in Gaza cost them the election, yet Democrats continue accepting millions from AIPAC and J Street. The Justice Department has withheld and removed Epstein files containing allegations that Donald Trump sexually abused a 13-year-old girl, according to a bombshell NPR investigation confirmed by Congressman Robert Garcia. The missing documents include what appear to be more than 50 pages of FBI interview records, specifically three of four FBI 302 forms from a woman who was interviewed by federal agents four times in 2019. The one 302 form that has been released publicly references Jeffrey Epstein and mentions Donald Trump. The remaining three, believed to contain specific accusations of sexual abuse, have been hidden from public view despite the Epstein File Transparency Act mandating their release. NPR's investigation used unique serial numbers stamped on documents in the Epstein files database to confirm the missing pages. Congressman Robert Garcia, ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, independently verified the bait stamp numbering and confirmed the 50-page gap. He stated the only explanation is that Pam Bondi and the DOJ are intentionally withholding the documents. The woman who made the allegations told the FBI she possessed a photo of Trump and Epstein together but feared retaliation. An internal FBI email sent in 2025 listed Trump's name at the top and noted she had stopped cooperating with investigators. The White House responded by claiming Trump has done more for Epstein victims than anyone, while deflecting to Democratic figures. The State of the Union is scheduled for tonight, and multiple Democratic members of Congress have invited Epstein survivors to sit in the House chamber during Trump's address. Hawk breaks down the newly released Justice Department files revealing that Jean-Luc Brunel, the French modeling scout and one of Jeffrey Epstein's closest associates, was secretly negotiating with federal prosecutors in 2016 and was prepared to hand over incriminating photographs and testify about Epstein's sex trafficking operation. Brunel's lawyer told prosecutors his client had recruited girls for Epstein and was willing to walk into the US Attorney's Office in New York in exchange for immunity. Then Epstein found out. Emails now part of the document dump show Epstein immediately contacted Katherine Rummler, then a prominent attorney and later Goldman Sachs general counsel, who has since resigned. Epstein's outreach effectively shut down Brunel's cooperation, and prosecutors never pursued him further. More than 50 additional girls were trafficked in the three years that followed. The files also expose how Epstein used Brunel's modeling agency MC2, which Epstein helped bankroll with up to $1 million, as a vehicle to recruit foreign women, secure their work visas, and keep them financially dependent. A recruiter named Daniel Sead supplied girls from Sweden, Slovakia, France, and Russia. Virginia Giuffre had alleged Brunel trafficked girls as young as 12. Brunel was arrested in France in 2020 on rape charges and was found hanged in his cell in 2022. Epstein's nonprosecution deal in 2008, negotiated by then-US Attorney Alex Acosta, allowed the trafficking to continue for years. Julie K. Brown's Miami Herald investigation and her book Perversion of Justice ultimately forced federal action in 2019. Hawk breaks down the FBI search warrant executed in Fulton County, Georgia, targeting ballots from the 2020 presidential election, a warrant that legal experts say should never have existed. The affidavit, authored by FBI Special Agent Hugh Raymond Evans, reads less like a credible criminal complaint and more like a greatest hits album of debunked 2020 election denier conspiracy theories. Clark Cunningham, a law and ethics professor at Georgia State University, and election integrity expert David Becker have both stated the affidavit fails the basic constitutional standard of establishing probable cause, the very threshold required before any judge, or in this case US Magistrate Judge Katherine Selenus, can legally authorize a search . The criminal investigation itself was triggered by Kurt Olsen, a Trump-appointed election denier who was on the phone with Trump on January 6th and now holds a key federal election security role. Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, was present during the raid, which resulted in over 700 boxes of Fulton County election materials being seized, materials whose current location nobody can confirm. Meanwhile, Stephen Miller is directing a coordinated campaign using DHS and ICE to intimidate naturalized US citizens and suppress minority voter turnout, with Steve Bannon openly calling for ICE agents at every polling location. The Georgia State Election Board met and ultimately voted not to take over Fulton County elections, while Trump held a rally in Marjorie Taylor Greene's former district the same day. Fulton County has filed motions to have the warrant vacated and the ballots returned, citing Fourth Amendment violations, expired statutes of limitations, and witnesses with severe credibility and bias issues, including one who was reportedly referred to the FBI for threatening Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger. Empress Myeongseong (Queen Min), born Min Ja-yeong in 1851, was the child bride of the young King Gojong of Korea. This was during the Joseon isolationist era, overseen by her father-in-law, the conservative regent Heungseon Daewongun. As foreign powers pressured the "Hermit Kingdom," a 1870s coup to sideline the regent lead to an era of modernization. Japan's 1895 victory in the First Sino-Japanese War ended Chinese influence, and Queen Min's secret appeals to Russia for aid provoked Tokyo. On October 8, 1895, Japanese Minister Miura Gorō orchestrated her assassination, unleashing a process that would lead to Japan annexing Korea in 1910. Korean nationalist lore casts Queen Min as a heroic modernizer and defender against imperialism. But many scholars highlight the virtual inevitability of the peninsula's subordination to one foreign power or another, her factionalism, and risky foreign intrigues. The Epstein files have now ensnared figures across multiple countries. In the UK, Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under mounting pressure to resign after his top aides, including ambassador Peter Mandelson and chief of staff Morgan McSweeney, stepped down amid revelations about their ties to Epstein. In Norway, former Prime Minister Thorbjorn Jagland has been arrested and criminally charged. Diplomat Mona Juul faces a corruption investigation. France's former culture minister Jack Lang resigned under criminal inquiry. In academia, Larry Summers of Harvard, Joi Ito of MIT, and others have lost positions at major institutions. In business, Leon Black paid Epstein $170 million, Thomas Pritzker stepped down from Hyatt, and Casey Wasserman faces defections ahead of the 2028 LA Olympics. In law, Brad Karp of Paul Weiss and Goldman Sachs counsel Katherine Romler both had deep ties to Epstein revealed through emails. Alex Acosta, the federal prosecutor who cut Epstein's sweetheart plea deal in 2008, allowing a man facing 240 years in prison to serve 13 months with work release, later became Trump's Secretary of Labor. And Pam Bondi, who served as Florida Attorney General for eight years while Epstein was active in her jurisdiction, did nothing, and continues to cover for those involved. The Atlantic's Charlie Warzel published a piece titled "This Is What It Looks Like When Nothing Matters," and Hawk reads through it, unpacking how internet nihilism has moved from the fringes of 4chan straight into mainstream politics and culture. The article traces how trolling, once confined to anonymous message boards, became the dominant language of the internet and a tool of political power. Steve Bannon saw the trolls as a political constituency and helped pipeline their energy into the MAGA movement, and that same anarchic, rules-don't-apply attitude now shows up in everything from Department of Homeland Security social media posts to Trump sharing content depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes.Hawk walks through the rise of figures like Clavvicular, a live streamer who hits his face with a hammer for attention and openly associates with white supremacist Nick Fuentes and alleged sex trafficker Andrew Tate. The concept of "nihilism by default" -- where the only purpose is self-promotion and feeding the social media machine -- connects these influencers to the chaos coming out of Washington.The Epstein files get the same treatment: three million pages released with no context, quickly turned into memes, AI slop, and fabricated screenshots. The files revealed just enough institutional rot to breed more cynicism without delivering justice to any of Epstein's victims or accountability for those connected to him. The kirkification phenomenon, the GameStop short squeeze, and ironic 9/11 memes all point to the same cultural collapse: events no longer have meaning, only content value. Steve Bannon is having a very bad month. A Missouri investor named Andrew Bar has filed a lawsuit against Bannon and fellow MAGA operative Boris Epstein over the now-defunct FJB coin cryptocurrency, alleging nearly $59,000 in losses on a $60,000 investment. Trump's February 5th National Prayer Breakfast speech exposed the complete moral collapse of evangelical Christianity in America. At an event founded in 1953 to bring leaders together in reconciliation, Trump delivered 75 minutes of grievances, insults, and praise for dictators. He called critics lunatics, labeled Representative Thomas Massie a jerk, praised El Salvador's authoritarian president Nayib Bukele and his cruel prison system, and claimed Democrats cheat while saying no person of faith could vote for them. The 3,500 attendees, mostly evangelical Christians, responded with standing ovations.Pete Wehner's Atlantic article examines how evangelicals abandoned Jesus's teachings for Trump's viciousness. Leaders like Robert Jeffress openly declared they wanted the meanest, toughest fighter rather than someone who follows biblical principles. Jerry Falwell Jr. called for street fighters instead of nice guys. Tony Perkins admitted evangelicals gave Trump a mulligan on affairs and hush money because they wanted someone willing to punch back. These Christians now see Trump's cruelty as virtue when directed at perceived enemies.The Prayer Breakfast highlighted Trump's authoritarian tendencies. He praised dictators, attacked political opponents, and claimed persecution of Christians before his presidency. Meanwhile, many evangelical pastors remain silent, afraid to speak prophetically against injustice. Some Christians are resisting, including Catholic leaders, mainline denominations, and individual pastors standing against cruelty and oppression. The question remains whether evangelical Christianity can recover its moral foundation or has permanently embraced authoritarianism over Christian ethics. Join Alex and film studies professor Daniel Kieckhefer as they explore the deeper meaning in Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece Vertigo (1958). The film stars James Stewart as a boyish former SFPD detective, haunted by a near-death experience that leaves him with extreme vertigo. He's called on as a private detective to investigate a woman, played by Kim Novak, who is seemingly possessed by a dead relative. This paper-thin mystery (as the critics at the time called it) is not what Hitchcock wanted audiences to pay attention to, however; as Daniel explains, this is classic Freudian Oedipal complex. The duo explore the explanation from a historical lens, both from a filmmaking and a clinical psychology perspective. It's pretty clear that obsession is the concept to focus on, but its really what the true object of that obsession that is up for debate! There was agreement that Stewart played a really creepy dude and in no way was he the good guy of this story.
