Herman and Tracy drag each other through the minefield of the cult classic animated anthology, Heavy Metal, which stars much of the SCTV cast. This dated strangeness could not be made today, so thank goodness for 1981. 

Tracy and Herman are lucky enough to interview the great Robert Rusler, an actor who has spent his whole life experiencing the magic of Hollywood, both on and off the screen. He told us tales about his career, the making of Weird Science, and some great side stories about Nightmare On Elm Street 2 and Thrashin'. He's a wise man and we are wiser from talking to him. Tracy and Herman get into one of our old favorites. The nerd underdogs that we identified with came out triumphant which is just what we needed to see at the time. 

Tracy in LA and Herman in Portland interview cinematographer Peter Deming, ASC, a talented and fascinating filmmaker who's list of accomplishments is longer than your arm with a chainsaw pipe-clamped to it. He takes us through his tale of Evil Dead 2, Dead by Dawn, a movie that this show's hosts have had an unhealthy obsession with since they were teenagers. Oh well, they turned out fine, even if they have over time watched upwards of 100,000 gallons of blood shoot out of cabin walls.  

Tracy in LA and Herman in Portland get nice and snuggly with a dark and gritty vampire movie. Inspired to hit this one after the death of the great Bill Paxton, it is discovered that innocent young Herman never had seen it, while his salty co-host was well versed in Near Dark lore. Fast Times is a true teen classic. Written by Cameron Crowe and directed by Amy Heckerling, this is a perfect coming of age film that holds up today as strong as ever. Tracy and Herman discuss all aspects and have a few chuckles along the way.
