Typically recounting times of distress, the psalmist then details how the Lord provided and candidly acknowledges His steadfast love and faithfulness. Unlike psalms of lament, which cry out for assistance, these songs look back on God's saving works and afterwards celebrate Hisdeliverance. Authors often invite their audience to join them in giving thanks, turning personal experience into corporate worship.
