Send us a textAs we reach the final day of our Christmas Advent series, we turn our eyes fully and finally to Jesus Himself. In this closing devotion, we sit with the seven “I Am” statements found in the Gospel of John — Jesus' own words revealing who He is: the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Gate, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life, and the True Vine.Whether your Christmas season has been full or heavy, joyful or exhausting, this episode calls us back to what truly sustains us — Christ at the centre. As we prepare to step into a new year, we are reminded that Jesus is not only who we need at Christmas, but who we need every day.“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)Jesus says: Come to Me.
Jesus once cursed a fig tree—and it wasn't because He was having a bad day. It was a living picture of a deeper story. Throughout Scripture, Israel is described as God's vine—planted, cared for, and called to bear fruit for the world. But when the vine failed, God didn't abandon the story. At Christmas, the promised Branch arrived—and that Branch grew into the True Vine. And Jesus, the Vine, invites His followers to be branches—abiding in Him, allowing His life to flow to us, and producing fruit for others. The message: Where we see a dead, cut-down stump, God sees new life.
Jesus invites us to remain in him by living out his command to love others the way he loves us. And when we do, we stay connected to the Vine, who strengthens our lives so that we might bear lasting fruit.

I Am the True Vine: Abiding in Christ Is the Key to a Fruitful Life (John 15:1–11) - Dr. Bill Cook
In John 15, Jesus tells us that He is the true vine, and His disciples are the branches. Luke looks at why Jesus uses this image and what its implication are for us.
Karen looks at the passage in John 15, where Jesus tells us that He is the true vine, and His disciples are the branches.

The Great I Am Who was Jesus? Throughout the Bible, Jesus gave powerful, revealing statements about His nature that often started with “I AM…” Not only do His words reveal that He was fully God, but they also tell us something profound about the way He relates to us. Jesus is the “Bread of Life” because we are hungry; He is the “Light of the World,” because we are in darkness.
In this episode, we take a careful and honest look at how the modern concept of “race” has shaped—and often distorted—our understanding of Scripture, history, and identity. The idea of race is a human-made construct, rooted in hierarchy and social division, not something created by Yahuah. Scripture identifies people by covenant, tribe, and nation—not skin tone. Yet the enemy has used skin color to divide the body and cloud our understanding of the natural branches of Israel. In this study, we revisit what Scripture actually says, explore the history that shaped today's worldview, and address the blind spots that influence how many of us were taught to read the Bible. We also talk about melanin, historical context, and why the Israelites of Scripture were a deeply melanated people, along with Egyptians, Cushites, and other neighboring nations. But while skin color provides historical context, it is not the sole determining factor of lineage. Instead, Scripture tells us that the curses of Deuteronomy 28 would be a sign—an outward marker tied to lived experiences. This episode unpacks how shared history, oppression, displacement, and prophecy play a far more important role in identifying the natural branches than appearance alone.Ultimately, this message is anchored in compassion, reconciliation, and covenant. Whether natural or wild branches, we are called to abide in the True Vine, Yahusha. This conversation is not about exclusion but about truth, healing, and restoring the context that helps us honor both Scripture and the people of Jacob. My prayer is that this study brings clarity, humility, and unity as we continue seeking Yahuah with sincerity and love. This episode is also available on YouTube and Rumble:Subscribe on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@ThePromisePerspective Subscribe on Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/the_promise_perspectiveContact me: stephanie@promise-perspective.comVisit my website: www.promise-perspective.com Support the show

Pastor Matt wrapped up the church's "I AM" series by reviewing how Jesus revealed His divine identity through seven statements in the Gospel of John. Each statement—Bread of Life, Light of the World, Door, Good Shepherd, Resurrection and Life, Way, Truth and Life, and True Vine—offers a unique invitation to relationship, collectively inviting us back into relationship with God through Christ. The sermon emphasized that discipleship isn't a tiered system but the natural state of every follower of Jesus, who should be "following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and committed to the mission of Jesus." Pastor Matt then launched our annual Christmas offering campaign with a goal of $155,000, supporting local partners like Union Gospel Mission, national church planting efforts, global missions, and campus ministries. This 11-week generosity initiative aligns with Jesus' final command in Acts 1:8 to be witnesses "in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth," while also supporting Vision 2028—the plan to start a new work by our 50th anniversary.

The True Vine's Comfort, Part 3Oliver Jones
In this sermon, Pastor Brian explores Jesus's declaration "I am the true vine" from John 15, delivered during His final hours with the disciples before the crucifixion. Pastor Brian explains that in ancient Jewish culture, the grapevine symbolized Israel, but Jesus now claims to be the "true vine," indicating that what Israel failed to accomplish as God's chosen people is fulfilled in Him. The Father serves as the vinedresser who both removes unfruitful branches and prunes fruitful ones for greater productivity. Pastor Brian emphasizes that the key to spiritual life and fruitfulness is abiding in Christ, comparing it to his own 25-year marriage where "not getting divorced" is fundamental but insufficient for a thriving relationship. Similarly, believers must actively abide in Jesus through Bible reading, prayer, obedience, and sharing their faith. The fruit of this abiding includes transformed character (the fruit of the Spirit), worship, and spiritual reproduction—making new disciples. Pastor Brian concludes with an invitation for non-believers to be grafted into the vine, for wayward believers to return to abiding, and for faithful believers to express gratitude for Christ's sacrifice.

Love and Torah—what's the link? This series focuses on the “Two Great Commands"—loving Yahweh and your neighbor. While many groups claim to believe in the Creator and His Messiah, they often hold differing views. Everyone agrees love is vital, but what does it look like in practice? What actions does it involve? In this series, Love & Torah, Rabbi Steve Berkson offers straightforward biblical insights into these questions. After finishing his study of Psalm 119, which highlights loving Elohim, Rabbi Berkson now turns to how to love others. The Gospel of John, chapter 15, serves as an ideal starting point, as Messiah Yeshua uses agricultural metaphors to teach His disciples about the relationship He desires among believers. • What is the “gap” between the Gardener and the Vine? • What does pruning mean? How does it relate to you? • If Messiah Yeshua calls Himself the “True Vine," could there be false vines? • Why did Messiah Yeshua say, “Stay in Me"? • Why does verse 15:3 mention being clean because of the Word? • What is a direct download from the Ruach? • Do you need to pray before doing anything? • What is “Vertical Awareness”? Rabbi Berkson once again analyzes these passages in detail, helping you gain a deeper understanding of what Yah expects and how you can fulfill it to receive blessings. In Pastor Gary's recent sermon, he explored the profound statements made by Jesus Christ, with a particular focus on the declaration, "I am the true vine." Pastor Gary elaborated on how these words, spoken in a world often characterized by haste and superficiality, carry profound and lasting implications. He explained that the vine symbolizes a connection to divine sustenance and truth, unlike the hollow substitutes the world might offer. With great conviction, Pastor Gary emphasized the unique and fearless nature of Jesus' statement, highlighting His divinity and the unmatched love and sacrifice inherent in His life and mission.
