When systems shake… when opinions change… when pressure rises… what still stands? In this week's More Than Conquerors, Terry and Reneé Mize teach on the unshakable foundation of real, working faith. Not emotional faith. Not borrowed faith. Covenant faith rooted in God's Word. You'll discover: Why faith must be built — not assumed How faith speaks before it sees Why your foundation determines your outcome How to stand firm when culture pushes back This isn't theory. It's how to build a life the devil cannot shake.
In this week's message from James 2:14–26, we wrestle with a question that cuts straight to the heart of the Christian life: What does real faith actually look like? James challenges us to examine whether our faith is alive and active—or merely something we claim with words.Scripture makes it clear that genuine faith doesn't stay hidden. While we are saved by grace, a living faith always produces fruit. Saying we believe isn't the same as being transformed. Just as sickness shows itself through symptoms, faith reveals itself through action—through love, compassion, perseverance, and obedience.James reminds us that belief alone isn't enough. Even demons believe the truth about God. What sets real faith apart is a life changed by Jesus—a faith that works itself out in how we care for others and trust God over time.In this message, we'll explore:✔ The difference between simple belief and saving faith✔ Why faith without action is spiritually dead✔ How works reveal—not replace—our salvation✔ What it means to see the needs of others as our own✔ Why compassion is evidence of a living faith✔ How perseverance grows as we trust God's faithfulness✔ How Abraham's faith points us to the work of JesusIf you've ever wondered whether your faith is real, growing, or bearing fruit, this message invites you to reflect honestly and respond faithfully. The root of true faith will always produce fruit—and that fruit is meant to be seen.
"Who is wise and understanding among you?". James asks a question that hits closer to home than we might like to admit. This week, we dig into the difference between simply possessing information and walking in true, godly discernment. In this episode:Why we equate wisdom with being "the smartest person in the room".The warning against "unspiritual and demonic" wisdom. The essential starting point: The Fear of the Lord.Practical ways to create a "harvest of righteousness" in your home and workplace.Join us as we learn to let the Word of God shape our conduct and our hearts.

We often underestimate the power of a single sentence. This week, we dive into James 3 to discuss the "wildfire" in our mouths. We explore the strict judgment facing teachers, the inherent hypocrisy of praising God while slandering neighbors, and the ultimate hope found in Christ—the one who forgives our sins of the tongue and fills us with the "water of life" so we may speak truth in love.

What good is a lion if it's made of stone? In this episode, we dive into the second chapter of James to tackle one of the most provocative questions in the New Testament: Can a faith without works actually save you?We explore:Why "faith minus works" isn't faith at all.The difference between intellectual belief (which even demons have) and saving trust. How the "breath of Christ" turns a sedentary, "taxidermied" faith into a living mission.Practical ways to be ambassadors of the Gospel in our local communities.

Are you "kissing the hand that is slapping you"? This week, we examine James 2:1–13 and the tendency to faunt over the rich while marginalizing the poor. James argues that partiality isn't just being rude—it's a violation of the "royal law" to love your neighbor as yourself.Join us as we discuss:Why "minor" sins of favoritism shatter the whole law like a pane of glass. How Jesus fulfilled the law to give us a new "law of liberty".Why mercy must have the final word in our church community.Challenge yourself to move beyond loving neighbors in the abstract and begin truly knowing the brothers and sisters sitting right next to you.
What does real Christianity look like when life gets hard? In this opening message of the Hands-On Christianity series, Pastor Ian Buckley begins a verse-by-verse study through the New Testament letter of James. From James 1:1–12, we see how genuine faith is revealed under pressure — not through words alone, but through a lived, obedient walk with God. This message explores: * trusting God when trials hit, * asking God for wisdom instead of reacting, * refusing to build identity on status or circumstances, and * persevering until God finishes His work.

Do you ever look in the mirror and immediately forget what you saw? James suggests that many Christians do the exact same thing with the Word of God.In this week's episode from First Reformed Church in Edgerton, MN, we dive into the second half of James chapter 1. We discuss why our anger doesn't produce the righteousness of God, how the "noise" of our own hearts can drown out the Gospel, and why the most blessed life is one of active obedience rather than mere intellectual assent. Listen in as we explore how to move from being a casual hearer to a faithful doer of the Word.

There are some who say they have faith and others that feel they have faith but then there are those who show their faith. Which one saves? Keep that question in the back of your mind and join us for a Daily Walk with pastor John Randall. We continue in our study verse by verse through the New Testament book of James. It's there that we're given insight into what saving faith is and the role of works. And you're about to see some real living examples from the Old Testament. We continue in the book of James today with pastor John Randall. Chapter two speaks of faith and works! There's a long-standing debate of which wars were fought over. It concerns what is saving faith and the role of works in our salvation. Our teacher pastor John enters into this discussion now in part one of Faith that Works! "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of many kinds." How is this possible? In this week's sermon from First Reformed Church in Edgerton, MN, we look at the internal work of the Holy Spirit during times of pressure. Using the biological reality of "stress wood," we learn how God uses the very things we want to escape to make us "perfect and complete, lacking in nothing".Key takeaway: Your trial is not a sign of God's absence, but a tool of His grace to anchor you in Christ.
James 2:14-26 1. True faith is more than words 2. Living faith is visible 3. Genuine faith is proven by works
In James's book, Chapter 1 taught us about the importance of faith and the change that it produces in us. Having been given faith in Christ, now we are responsible to use that faith to work out our salvation as we become “Doers of the Word.” In the process, the works that we now do (being in the faith) prove the reality of faith's power in our lives. Join us this week as we conclude our study of James 2! This week, we'll see how true faith powerfully drives us to live out the reality of Christ within us. A faith that goes to work proves that faith really does work!
In today's message, Pastor Jack addresses why our faith can sometimes feel ineffective after a period of success. Using the example of the disciples who failed to cast out a demon in Matthew 17, he explains that faith isn't meant to fail—it's meant to win. He emphasizes that when our prayers seem unanswered, we must examine our own faith and spiritual practices rather than accept defeat or assume it's not God's will. Pastor Jack encourages us to combine prayer with action—speaking to our mountains, being led by the Spirit, and humbly seeking God's living Word until it becomes a heartfelt revelation. He reminds us that God desires our victory in every area—health, finances, and relationships—and urges us to stand firm, stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading, and trust fully in God's timing and promises.Tune in now!Join us for service every Sunday at 9 and 11am (PST) and Wednesday at 7pm (PST)If you received Christ through this message, text JESUS to (253) 859-0832We would love to hear how God is touching your life through this ministry!
