Our reading today is John 4:46-54 and 5:1-18 – the first healing stories we'll read this season. And in this time when access to healthcare seems like its own miracle, stories that really struck us both. We remember the signs and wonders of Exodus, and their importance in building a lasting faith for the people, as we see Jesus offer signs and wonders of a different kind. We imagine what it would be to be so close to that pool of water that held within it a promise of dignity, or maybe even healing – and slowly realize over weeks and years that it will never be your turn to immerse. When Jesus heals these men, can we imagine he is offering something more than a broken fever, more than legs with the strength to walk? And can we imagine a way of healing, in this story and in our time, that's not dependent on the established systems?
What if the dried-up brook isn't a dead end but your doorway to the next miracle? We unpack Elijah's journey from Cherith to Zarephath as a practical framework for modern faith: hide before you herald, receive before you release, and obey before you see the outcome. Along the way, we challenge the myth of a single source by exploring how God's provision shifts forms without losing force—and why clinging to yesterday's method can cause you to miss today's supply. Our guest walks us through the rhythms of process, refining, and promotion with vivid insights: ravens as unlikely couriers, seasonal streams that test trust, and a widow's last meal that becomes a pipeline of provision. We dig into how consecration positions us for wonders, why faith grows strongest when sight is weakest, and how alignment turns believers from storage units into delivery systems. Anchored by Isaiah 45's “treasures in darkness” and the covering promises of Psalm 91, we frame hidden seasons as sacred classrooms where courage, clarity, and calling take shape. You'll hear a powerful personal testimony about carrying a prophetic word through medical valleys, the difference between striving and surrender, and the practical steps that keep you steady when outcomes lag behind obedience. If you're navigating scarcity, uncertainty, or delay, this conversation offers language and tools to keep moving—celebrate the moment you're in, learn what it's teaching, and watch how the next assignment emerges right where the old source ran dry. If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review to help more people find these conversations. We love to hear from our listeners! Pastor Sam Rainer preaches on the fundamentals of the faith. While Leviticus may seem obscure, ancient, and irrelevant, there is a lot for us to learn from the Old Testament book, and much of it points right back to the work of Jesus. This sermon covers the atonement, the act by which God and humanity are brought together in personal relationship through the work of Jesus.

I always try to share awe-inspiring or surprising stories with you on Wednesdays, and I have new ones for you from our latest bestseller, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Change Your Habits, Change Your Life. But there are so many other ways that we can improve our lives, and one of those is by reaching out, making connections, and letting other people into our lives. It can actually be rather miraculous when one of these connections occurs. So that's what I want to talk about today, starting with a story by Shannon Leach that I think we can all relate to. From the great Whole Milk Debate (spoiler: kids still aren't drinking it) to the mysterious journey of the carton nobody ever opens, we start this entry exactly where common sense goes to die. Then—because of course—we officially arrive at the Miraculous era of The Update Journal. Yes, we've finally crossed that line. Buckle up, because this is not the first time we've unpacked how a TV-Y7 show casually turned into a full-blown psychological thriller… and it absolutely will not be the last. If you're new here, welcome. If you've been here before, you already know how this goes. And to close things out, Valentine's Day is in the air—or at least in stores, aisles, and checkout lines—whether you're emotionally ready for it or not.In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Friday, New York City nurses on strike headed back to the bargaining table on day 12 of the strike with hospital administrators to try to bring an end to the city's biggest walkout of its kind in decades.A reality TV series meant to spotlight the New York Police Department has spawned a real-life legal drama involving the city and the show's producer, Jordan McGraw — the son of TV's “Dr. Phil” McGraw. And across the country, thousands of power line workers were on standby, flights were canceled and bottled water flew off the shelves as a huge winter storm that could bring catastrophic damage, widespread power outages and bitterly cold weather barreled toward the eastern two-thirds of the U.S.
Bernie Fratto starts off discussing why the Broncos are a sleeper to win outright against the Patriots because of Jarrett Stidham. Steve Fezzik joins the show to discuss best picks for Championship Sunday. Midnight Hour follows with topics including whether or not the Raiders should trade for Lamar Jackson, who's better between John Harbaugh and Mike McCarthy, and thoughts on Cam Newton? Mark Medina stops by before Bernie discusses Indiana's improbable run from laughable losers to National Champions + new editions of Fantasy Files and World of Soccer. Daniel 3:24-25 (ESV)24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. He declared to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” 25 He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”Today, I will be taking my story out of the book of Daniel. We will be looking at the specific posture of faith these men took that positioned them for God's intervention.Summarizing the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego:Jerusalem was taken captive by BabylonKing Nebuchadnezzar wanted to educate their best youth in the literature and language of the Chaldeans (highly educated class of men who serve the king)Three of the youths we know as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego; who were later appointed over affairs of the provinceKing Nebuchadnezzar decided to make a statue of gold for all in Babylon to worshipShadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to obey the king's commandThe Chaldeans maliciously accused the Jews of being insubordanate to the king's orderThe king was furious at this and threatened them Nebuchadnezzar had the three Hebrews thrown into the fiery furnaceHe looked and saw four men walking around, unharmedNebuchadnezzar declared the God of Shadrrach, Meshach and Abednego delivered his servants who trusted in Him3 Faith Postures In My “Fiery Furnace” Experience1. Faith Obeys God Even Under PressureDaniel 3:16-18Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the golden image, even though disobedience meant death in the fiery furnace.Key truth: Biblical faith chooses obedience to God over cultural pressure, fear, or consequences.Acts 5:29 (ESV)“But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”Romans 12:2 (ESV)“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”Cliche -”WWJD?” - But I find myself asking that often.2. Faith Trusts God's Power—But Submits to His WillDaniel 3:17-18“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… but if not, we will not serve your gods” Key truth: Faith believes God can act but also trusts Him even if He doesn't act the way we hope.Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”Matthew 26:39 (ESV)“And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.'”2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”3. Faith Experiences God's Presence in the FireDaniel 3:24-25God didn't keep them out of the fire—He met them in it. A fourth figure appeared with them, and they were unharmed.Key truth:Faith does not promise the absence of trials, but the presence of God in them.Isaiah 43:2 (ESV)“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”Psalm 66:10–12 (ESV)“For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.11 You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; 12 you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.”Matthew 28:20 (ESV)“And behold, I am with you always…”Hebrews 11:11-12 (ESV)11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

On today's episode of The Wholesome Fertility Podcast, Michelle offers a heartfelt dose of hope for anyone feeling discouraged, exhausted, or unsure on their fertility journey. Drawing from years of experience as a fertility acupuncturist and coach, Michelle shares powerful stories from her clinic. These stories include women who were told their chances were low, who received discouraging lab results, or who felt their bodies were failing them, yet still went on to conceive. This episode explores the often overlooked unseen intelligence guiding your fertility. This includes the subtle signs, inner wisdom, emotional landscape, and spiritual connection that influence your body just as much as lab numbers do. Michelle also dives into the science behind belief and emotional states, referencing insights from cellular biologist Bruce Lipton and psychologist Dr. Lisa Miller to bridge the gap between spirituality and physiology. If you are craving reassurance, perspective, and a reminder that your journey is still unfolding in ways you may not yet see, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways: Your fertility journey is shaped by both the physical and the unseen. Numbers matter, but they are not the whole story. Lab values are only a snapshot in time. They can and often do change. Miraculous pregnancies can and do happen, even after discouraging diagnoses. Emotional and spiritual alignment deeply influence your physiology and hormonal environment. Belief, joy, and hope are not only comforting. They are biologically impactful. Your body operates through an extraordinary intelligence that we are only beginning to understand. Connecting with your spirit baby or inner guidance can open doors in unexpected ways. In this episode, we sit down with the radiant and deeply authentic Renee McKinney, who has spent the last 21 years serving in ministry with her husband, Justin — a worship pastor, college professor, and (formerly) not-so-great singer… until God stepped in. Their story is full of the kinds of miracles you write down so you never forget: unexpected provision, supernatural spiritual gifts, and transformation that can only be explained by heaven's fingerprints.Renee opens up about the ups, downs, and “are we seriously doing this, Lord?” moments of ministry life — from raising three teenagers who serve right alongside them, to navigating spiritual warfare, to learning the beauty of obedience even when God's path looks nothing like the plan. You'll hear how God literally rewrote Justin's vocal cords, how Renee began receiving timely prophetic words for specific people at exactly the right moments, and why humility, honesty, and community matter more than polished perfection. Her stories will strengthen your faith and remind you that God still moves in ways we cannot explain. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by calling, unsure about spiritual gifts, or tempted to put ministry families on a pedestal — this conversation will meet you right where you are.Get all the info about our next pastors' wives retreat and apply here:https://www.pastorswivestellall.com/attendaretreatTo purchase the BOOK, head here: https://pastorswivestellall.com/bookTo shop our MERCH, head here: https://pastorswivestellall.com/shopWant to support the Pastors' Wives Tell All podcast ministry? In this intimate and deeply honest episode of The Power of SelfEVOLution, I visit with my long-term client for a real-time reflection on what truly changes when our relationship with our "Self" begins to heal. What unfolds is a #RealRawRelatable exploration of anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, and the invisible patterns that invisibly shape our relationships with partners, parents, and children. "I didn't know who I was, so I couldn't communicate clearly with anyone else." From surviving on the outside while struggling on the inside, to learning how to recognize emotional triggers, set boundaries, and communicate without fear ~ this conversation reveals how inner awareness transforms the way we show up in life. And, most importantly, transforms how we truly feel deep down in our core being and heart! My client shares, in her own words, how understanding her unconscious patterns shifted lifelong dynamics with her mother, strengthened her marriage, changed the way she parents, and ultimately restored a sense of calm, trust, and inner safety she had never experienced before. It’s about compassionate witnessing, offering a safe “container” for their emotions, and simply being there, which builds trust and deeper connection. Key aspects of holding space: Presence: Being authentically and undistractedly present in the moment, focusing on the other person’s experience. Non-judgment: Accepting their feelings and story as valid without criticism or imposing your own views. No fixing: Resisting the urge to offer unsolicited advice or try to solve their problem, which can feel dismissive. Safe environment: Creating a sense of security where they feel safe to be vulnerable and express difficult emotions. Bearing witness: Acting as a supportive witness to their pain, joy, or uncertainty, letting them lead. How it’s different from other interactions: Not “hijacking” space: The opposite is taking over, controlling the narrative, or making it about your own anxiety or ego. Not just being nice: It’s a deeper, intentional act of support, distinct from just sharing laughs or being polite. When to use it: When someone is grieving, stressed, or in crisis. To foster deeper, more authentic relationships. In therapy, coaching, or supportive friendships. How to do it: Listen actively and ask clarifying questions like, “What are you feeling about that?”. Validate their experience with phrases like, “That sounds incredibly difficult,” or “I can see why you’d feel that way”. Sit with them in silence if needed, offering your quiet presence. Communicate your presence, e.g., “I’m here for you, no fixing needed”. _______________________________________ II – #jimswilleybooks “But the angel spoke immediately and authoritatively, saying to them, “Do not be afraid! I am here to announce good news to you…good news of a great and joyful event, and of a new reality! And this good news…this new reality…is for all people everywhere…it is for the entirety of humanity! This very night a Savior has been born in the City of David…a Savior who will perfectly embody the Christ, and will be known as the Lord! If you seek Him you will find Him…and this is what you’re to look for: a baby swaddled in a blanket, and lying in a feeding trough for animals!” As soon as the angel made this declaration, the sky above the shepherds’ heads lit up, and was filled with a seemingly infinite number of angels who formed a thunderous, mass choir, singing God’s praises, and shouting, “GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST PARTS OF THE HEAVENLY REALM…AND IN THE EARTHLY DIMENSION, PEACE…PEACE TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE EARTH…AND A REVELATION TO THEM THAT GOD’S WILL TOWARD ALL OF HUMANITY IS ONLY GOOD!”” (Luke 2:10-14 – Luke In The Now/Gospels In The Now) _____________________________ III – José y Maria by Everett Patterson

Pastoral Reflections Finding God In Ourselves by Msgr. Don Fischer
Gospel Luke 1:26-38 In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end.” But Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?” And the angel said to her in reply, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God.” Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her. Reflection Of all the stories in Scripture of miraculous births, none is more important and more significant than the one that you have just heard about in this gospel. Mary, chosen before to be the Mother of God, is told by an angel that she will become pregnant. Her response is not, this can't be, this doesn't make sense. Her response is only, how will I do this with you? How will it happen? Tell me what it will be like. And then the angel makes it clear. Miraculous infusion of life into her womb, and this life is going to save the world. And she understands, I know on some level the importance of this and her humble response. I will do whatever you want. I am a handmaid of you, O Lord. Bless me with the ability to do this. She's the model of acceptance of grace. Closing Prayer Father, as we near this Christmas season, we know that we are invited to imagine this event happening within each of us. The gift is being given to us, and we need to be in that same disposition as Mary of saying, how can I be who you need me to be in my family and my friends, in my circle, at my work? Who can I be for you to make you present to them? It's an enormous gift and a beautiful, wonderful way of life. And we ask this in Jesus' name, Amen Learn more about your ad choices. A Big Mess in Texas: The Miraculous, Disastrous 1952 Dallas Texans and the Craziest Untold Story in NFL History by David Fleming https://www.amazon.com/Big-Mess-Texas-Miraculous-Disastrous/dp/1250374308 Flemfile.com The incredible, untold true story of the 1952 Dallas Texans―the most dysfunctional team in the craziest season in NFL history. Rattlesnakes on the practice field, barroom brawls between teammates, bounced checks, paternity suits, house bombings by the Ku Klux Klan, stadium fields covered in circus-elephant dung, one-legged trainers, humiliating defeats, miraculous wins, All-Pro quarterbacks getting drunk at halftime, strip poker with groupies, and even a future Hall of Fame coach stealing a cab. Nearly lost to history, this singular season in the most football-mad region of the world is a kaleidoscope of every larger-than-life, fictionalized Texas football folktale ever written or filmed, with one incredible twist: it’s all true. Over a fascinating, ten-month rollercoaster ride in 1952, in the waning Wild West days of the NFL, before television turned the game into a corporation, the forgotten Dallas Texans would go down in history as one of the worst (and, wildest) teams of all time and the last NFL team to fail. But not before defying the Jim Crow South, pulling off a Thanksgiving Day miracle against George Halas's famed Chicago Bears and then celebrating with an even more infamous bender that would make Jimmy Johnson's Dallas Cowboys blush. A year later, the NFL buried all traces of the most loveable, dysfunctional, entertaining team in history by secretly rebranding the train wreck Texans as the wholesome, all-American Baltimore Colts, the team that would go on to save pro football. A Big Mess in Texas tells the Texans' tale with all the humor, drama, game action, colorful characters, villains, world-class athletes, civil rights trailblazers, and incredible plot twists of that legendary season.
