I've been struggling with keeping steady energy for years. I tend to be passive, a people-pleaser, a workaholic, and someone who constantly puts too much on my plate. So as you can imagine, I often feel drained of all my physical and mental energy. For years, I knew I needed to make a change, but honestly I put everyone else before myself so I pushed it off and didn't realize it's weight. Then I hit severe burnout and it left me no choice but to start to do something new each day to protect my energy. That way I could better show up for myself, my animals, and my relationships. That is when I realized that prioritizing everything but myself was my biggest energy drainer of all, because it messed with my head, self confidence, and pretty much everything else. After struggling with protecting my mental energy for my entire adult life, I finally feel like I'm figuring out tangible tools and habits that work for me. Honestly, since dedicating the little energy I had left into this, I've felt more energized, excited and less anxious about each day. So these are all of the habits I've adopted to add more energy to my life. They have been life changing for me, so I hope you see a shift as well. You likely wont start all of them at once, but choose a few that speak to you and continue adding more habits so that you feel energized and full of life each day. MORE SHOW NOTES COMING SOON!

For links, names & more show notes visit: https://www.wolfycourt.com/24 Are you ready to stop complaining and start living with intention? I'm sure we can all agree 2020 is not starting out the way many of us were expecting. With all the chaos going on right now with the Corona Virus and pretty much everything else that is happening, I think it's best to look within to see what practices we're following to help keep us calm. I talk a lot about being a calm and assertive pack leader for your dog and others around you, so this episode is giving you the necessary tools to show up in that way. If you're complaining your life away, something tells me you aren't much of a leader. Let's change that! Most people spend 90% of their time on the problem and not the solution. Staying in that state is not only not productive, it also gives the issue time to intensify. Ignoring the problem just gives it time to magnify and grow into something harder to tackle. If you just do the easy things in life and you procrastinate the hard stuff, then life becomes hard. But if you do the hard things, life becomes easy because you're building those muscles and mental fitness is just as important as mental intelligence.  So it's really important that you protect your energy and be intentional with where it’s going. Intentionally put most of your energy towards the solution so that you can get out of your own way.

Remember, how we spend our days ends up being how we live our life, so I chose to get really intentional about how I was going about each day. Once I found one habit that worked for me it all became easier to implement regularly … SPOILER ALERT.. it was #1 ;) I hope these 10 simple habits really help you add more gratitude to your life, which in turn will increase your happiness. Can I get a hell yeah!? 10 Ways To Feel Grateful Each Day Have some kind of signal or trigger that reminds you to practice gratitude. One example can be seeing a bird and then listing off what you’re grateful for. Start your morning with five things you’re grateful for. Do this while doing something you already naturally love. Post it notes and pretty graphics with reminders and affirmations around the house, office and car work great. When you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed, name what part of the situation you are grateful for. If it’s a stressful day, go out of your way to compliment someone. If you feel ballsy spark up a conversation. Make a list of things that you’re grateful for that make you extremely happy.. like actually change your mood, happy. Pull that list out when you’re having a hard time getting into a grateful mood. "Grateful Minute"  reminder. Ask anyone around you when that alarm goes off what they are grateful for. Surround yourself with people who practice gratitude regularly. This includes your social media, entertainment, coworkers and friend groups. Call, text or connect with someone each day and remind them that you’re grateful for your relationship. Claim your new emotional home. Act like the card you were dealt was the one that you wanted all along. Gratitude is now the emotion you come home to (it's no longer stress, overwhelm, fear, anxiety, etc). Identify your anti-self versus best self personalities. Name the person who is grateful verses the person who always sees things with the glass half empty.

Overthinking and pushing off decision making was the #1 thing that drained me of all of my energy last year. As you’ve heard me say many times, our energy speaks louder than our words and our actions to our dogs. So if I'm feeling distracted and I’m overthinking a decision over a long period of time I'm likely also feeling other feels like frustration, anxiety, helplessness, exhaustion..
