Intuitive sounds so easy, right? Just listen to your body! It knows what to do! Well... for most of us it's not that easy. Thanks to years of ignoring when we're hungry, and feeling bad when we're full, it takes time to relearn our body's signals. In this episode I talk about how you can start to learn your body's special language - the one that tells you when to eat, and when you've had enough. Want guidance on this? After flipping through an old journal, I found some writings from when I went through eating disorder recovery. It was SUCH a humbling experience to see the roller coaster I went on and how far I've come from that time. I decided to make a mini series sharing these journal entries so that you can get an idea of what this journey really entails. Although everyone's experience is vastly different, one consistency I know to be true is that recovery is not a line, it's a mother f*cking scribble. Knowing to expect ups and downs is crucial in staying grounded.
When you feel like you're in control of your life, you're less likely to want to control food and your body, which is why a huge part of the healing process is discovering yourself and finding other ways to feel good about who you are and the life you're leading. I interview Serafima Healy, a life coach that focuses on helping young people develop the skills to thrive independently. We discuss how to find confidence in a world that can often make us feel lost, alone, and insecure and how to find financial literacy and how the education system fails to teach us about money management.
