On this special episode, I interview one of my all time favorite people in education: Coach Nick Tucker, the RBR varsity baseball coach! Coach Tucker and I discuss the upcoming Mental Fitness Symposium on March 15th. Coach Tucker and I have collaborated with a number of people at school including the Gamechanging Bucs, a student-athlete led organization seeking to make things better for the Bucs, to bring this exciting opportunity to RBR! The day will include a keynote address from Dr. Jarrod Spencer, breakout sessions to discuss what student-athletes are experiencing, and some closing remarks from myself. Listen here for more information on this exciting opportunity!!
The following is an audio recording of our pre-sectionals visualization exercise from practice. Envision success and the feelings the race will bring and be unconquerable!

It was so fun getting to catch up with Gabe tonight reminisce about his being on the team, setting the school record, having a great freshman Global Studies class together, and seeing how grown up he is! I'm super proud of Gabe and all the work he's put in, and I can't wait to see where he is heading in this world! I m not a doctor and I am not pretending to be one here on the internet, but I have created a supplementation protocol that has seemed to work for me as an N=1 experiment. These vitamins and supplements seems to work for me and my microbiome but that does not mean they are necessarily right for you. Please consult a medical professional before starting any type of supplementation routine. This discussion of my supplementation is merely food (or maybe I should say, supplements?) for thought. As I mention in the episode, this seems to work for me as a 34 year old teacher, coach, and runner, but this will not be the routine that I will follow for the rest of my days- I will need to update this as I age and my body requires different things to continue to improve not only my health, but also my longevity. Have something you think I should try out? Leave a comment and let me know- I'm always open to trying new ways of leveling up and reaching peak performance! Today's lesson comes from Bob Richards, a three time Olympian, and a two time gold medalist. Richards rejected all things mediocre, and expected and was driven towards perfection- so too should we strive for exactly that. As you go forward in your running, in your schooling, and all that you do- DO NOT settle for mediocrity! You deserve your absolute best- expect that and hold yourself to your own best standard! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Can running be difficult? YES! Can some workouts knock you down? YES! BUT- you don't have to let them! YOU can make up your mind about whether or not you will be conquered, YOU can decide to BE UNCONQUERABLE- I will show you how. Today's quote, for clarification, reads "You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give."-E.O. Wilson. The audio got clipped after 5:00, so there is a momentary interlude, but hopefully as I continue to grow with this platform I learn a little bit about audio splicing and editing- thanks for understanding! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
