My relationship with singer songwriter Lyndon Morgans is a few years into it's 'fifth' decade, having (like many other rock pub goers in London in the late seventies) accidentally happened across a golden moment of post punk creativity known at the time as 'Sad Among Strangers'

David Moss is a founder member and a major component of the delightful inspiration behind the band #LightGarden www.LightgardenMusic.co.uk he is a worker of light, paint, music and energy (See www.ireca.org.uk ) Initially pushed to the position of front man in the band 'Banoffi' in the late nineties, our paths first crossed in 2015 in support of the #HoltCRS campaign and I soon became a fan and friend. This is a conversation of hope, joy, reflection and the power to be found in us all to make sense of the nonsense and genuine issues that surround us!

"The Rise of the community shed" gives an introduction to how groups of people, chatting and being respectful to each other 'over a cuppa' (tea / coffee etc) has helped many deal with their darkest moments in life & why we should all spread the word that adults are allowed to have fun too! (In fact, it should be compulsory!) This episode has some great 'frank, honest and fun' discussions with Bryan, John & Mick who were all members of 'The Frome Shed' when I joined them back in 2015  See: http://www.fromeshed.org.uk/ - Also mentioned in very fond terms is Mr. Patrick Abrahams who founded the project in 2014 and is currently a 'Shed Ambassador' at The UK Men's sheds Association. See: https://menssheds.org.uk/ Among many other roles! - I mention in the show that my meeting with Patrick was quite unplanned but changed my life from that point on!  My eventual (intended) meeting was at the same destination and for those seeking opportunities for young adults in Frome,  Somerset, UK, I thoroughly recommend checking out the work of 'Edventure' too!  (The 'Share Shop' One of edventure's projects, is also mentioned in the show as the new home for a rather large, repaired Angle Grinder) See: https://edventurefrome.org/  Note: I researched statistics for the show that deal 'head on' with the terrible cost of not looking after each other on this little blue planet of ours.  I have no wish to be alarmist about the effect on #EveryDayMentalHealth of isolation brought on by 'sudden life circumstance change' or 'slow burn decrease in positive mood' in everyday lives, indeed many 'Shed Group attendees' worldwide, will not have encountered such problems, but many 'have' too, and for them, the discovery of a local #ShedGroup / #BarnyardCommunity / #YardShop / #MensShed, whatever you want to call it, can genuinely be described as life changing or even life giving!  Anyone dealing with some of the more serious issues raised in the show will find some helpful links at the end of this description.  I touch on the urgent need to grow this movement across the pond in the USA.  To that aim, The US Men's Shed Association is a good start. See: https://usmenssheds.com/ - The problems we see in the UK and europe are echoed across the pond but other factors at play in the USA with outcomes, especially for middle ages males, possibly service veterans or those suffering Job loss, status change and insulation from community not currently being nearly good enough! A 'Shed Group' in your community could really help someone.  Anyone!  You could simply and easily make some positive change in your community by first recognising that it really is Okay to not be OK, encouraging talking and laughing more, be it face to face or shoulder to shoulder, working on a project of some kind!  It's all about the people and it's all good too! -  If you, or someone you know is low and need to talk to someone, In the UK, 'Samaritans' are there for you. See: https://www.samaritans.org/ -  In the USA The 'American Federation For Suicide Prevention' can be found here! See: https://afsp.org/ - Treat everyone you meet like an old friend, because they might yet be a new one.
