Donovin describes his NFL Draft moment as a first-round pick in 1998, how special it was to play a key role in the team's still franchise-best 14-2 1999 season, what the Jacksonville Jaguars mean to him, which Hall of Famer was the recipient of the hardest hit he ever delivered on the football field, and much more! We are trying to keep it together after a losing one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game.... KOBE. Kobe, his 13 year-old daughter Gigi and seven others died in a helicopter crash on Sunday. Also on Sunday former Jaguars safety Donovin Darius was arrested for DUI then informed Police that he had takenabout 20 pills and was thinking about self harm. Jags players made their presence known at the ProBowl and Miami is locked and loaded to host the Big Game.... but is it the best place to be if you are an Africian American football player?

When you hear, “football player”, what is the first thought that comes to your mind? Is it “a caregiver”? It will be after you listen to this podcast. Toula's special guest in this podcast is former Jacksonville Jaguar defensive back Donovin Darius. Donovin was a first-round draft pick for the Jaguars in 1998, and played nine seasons with the team. He retired from football in 2013. More importantly, Donovin has been a caregiver for his mother, who became ill with various situations. Donovin said, “I knew that I had to do whatever I could do - staying with her, having her live with me, taking her to the doctor and the hospital. To me, it was the least I could do for her.” Since he retired from football, Donovin has been active in other careers, as an author, motivational speaker, fitness trainer and, through his Donovin Darius Foundation, host of empowerment and athletic camps for youth and families (To learn more, go to donovindariusfoundation.com.) Donovin has an amazing story to share with you and other caregivers. That is why he was named as the Keynote Speaker for the 2018 Caregiver Coalition of Northeast Florida's Caregiver Expo. Power Players with Donovin Darius and Grant Cardone: Economically, Donovin Darius started at the bottom. Your ability to earn is based on 3 things: the need for what you do, your ability to do it, and how difficult it is to replace you. Sports helped change Donovin's life economically as he was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars and had a successful career playing in the NFL. He made sure to play at a level that he was difficult to replace. He now runs a foundation that runs football camps to help kids on leadership and life skills. He teaches to redefine yourself, get occupied, and get noticed. Although a person may have pure intentions, they lack the required mindset and action steps to capitalize upon their great potential. You must have the right mindset necessary for success and to dominate—in the NFL or in business. In life, you win and you learn—you only lose when you don't learn a lesson or you give up.
