On January 23, 1959, ten hikers embarked on a wilderness hiking/skiing expedition into the Ural Mountains in the Eastern Soviet Union. Most of the hikers were students at Sverdlovsk's Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI). One of the hikers began to feel ill and left the group early, but when the remaining nine hikers did not return to the Institute by February 20, searchers began looking for them. Their horrific discovery persists as one of the great mysteries of the northern wilderness. ___________ For More Stories of Murder and Mystery ___________________ https://youtu.be/7Fv52Bf8yfY ___________________ Join the Last Frontier Club's Free Tier ______ Robin Barefield lives in the wilderness on Kodiak Island, where she and her husband own a remote lodge. From his media content on "Fresh Tracks" and "On Your Own Adventures," Randy Newman is well-known as a influential and motivational big-game hunter. But he's also an avid bird hunter and the intersection of the two passions is where we start our conversation. There's plenty of common ground, and he'll share some of the lessons that apply to the uplands as well as the deep woods. We cover new uses for your online mapping app, ways to find new public hunting ground, some tips for avoiding crowded land, and some of his must-carry gear. He also offers on-the-ground population guesstimates for sharptail season. "Fix It" argues for more open chokes and offers a range-finding tip ... listeners debate whether or not collar bells scare birds. And it's all brought to you by: HiVizSights.com, RuffLand Kennels, Mid Valley Clays and Shooting School, TrulockChokes, HiViz shooting systems, Pointer shotguns, Purina Pro Plan Sport and FindBirdHuntingSpots.com.
JP, BMitch, and Landfill debate whether they were more impressed with Jayden Daniels returning from injury or Bill Croskey-Merritt's big game.

Post-Gazette/Daily Collegian Penn State insiders Isaiah Maldonado and Lyle Alenstein break down the Nittany Lions' 30-24 double-overtime loss to Oregon on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. What led to the defeat? How should we rate QB Drew Allar's performance after he struggled for much of the game but helped erase a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit and nearly clawed Penn State to a victory? How concerned should the Nittany Lions be about their rushing attack, as Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton were largely held in check by the Ducks? What does this loss mean for Penn State's Big Ten title hopes and spot in the College Football Playoff? And why can James Franklin never seem to get over the hump and win these big games? Our duo answers those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
