Send a text to Melissa and she'll answer it on the next episode. Dive deep into the fascinating world of Lycopodium, one of homeopathy's most versatile and frequently prescribed remedies. Melissa and Bri explore this powerful polycrest that addresses everything from stubborn digestive issues to complex psychological patterns. The hallmark of Lycopodium is its remarkable dual nature. People needing this remedy often display contradictory traits – appearing confident while harboring deep insecurity, wanting to be alone yet fearing solitude, feeling full after eating very little yet still experiencing hunger. This remedy shines particularly bright when addressing right-sided symptoms, liver complaints, and that uncomfortable bloated feeling that persists despite dietary changes.Beyond the physical, Lycopodium reveals a distinctive personality profile. These individuals often mask insecurity with bravado, putting others down to feel better about themselves. They experience crippling anticipatory anxiety, asking endless questions before new situations. They're the "big fish in small pond" types who may decline promotions to avoid additional responsibility. Their energy typically crashes between 4-8 PM, and they find relief from warm drinks and foods. What makes Lycopodium truly special is its versatility. From addressing dyslexia in children whose confidence has suffered to helping with the distinctive "pompflex" eczema (those itchy fluid-filled bubbles on fingers), this remedy has earned its top-tier status. It works wonders for those peculiar tickly coughs, assists with kidney and liver function, and even helps those who wake feeling like they haven't slept at all.Whether you're new to homeopathy or a seasoned practitioner, understanding Lycopodium enriches your healing toolkit. Listen now to discover if this remedy might be the missing piece in addressing your health challenges, both physical and emotional. You may also gain Access to my Fullscript dispensary and save 30% by going to: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/mcrenshawFIND ME!

Learning about the banking and mortgage industry can help you reach your dreams of becoming a homeowner. In this month's episode, I'm sitting down with three lovely ladies who are striving to make positive changes in gaining access to homeownership, financial education, and inclusive leadership. Grab your cafecito and join us in this lovely conversation. Meet The Leaders Latonia Donaldson, SVP National Director of Multicultural Lending, PrimeLending Dr. Vanessa Montañez, SVP, Head of Community Lending, CityNational Bank Rosario Lawrence, Area Sales Manager, Newrez Home Loan Division Humble Beginnings in the Lending Industry and Leadership Latonia started as a processor to gain an understanding of the banking industry, then switched over to becoming a loan officer. An unexpected change happened that helped her realize the impact she was making on families achieving their homeownership dreams. This led her to transition into leadership roles with Wells Fargo, which brought her to her role now. Just like Latonia, Rosario started her banking career in 1994. Even though her first position was supposed to just help her get through college, she ended up falling in love with the industry. She decided to go down the leadership path, thanks to someone pulling her aside and showing her how it was a lucrative career that helped children. Dr. Vanessa's father accidentally guided her into business after telling her that the art major she was going for wasn't a good fit for the lifestyle she was accustomed to. After entering the banking industry, she saw how it was a powerful fuel for creating generational wealth. Seeing how transformative homeownership is for people, she joined leadership roles to ensure that the underrepresented population can continue to reach their dreams. Challenges in Financial Leadership Roles as Minority Women Rosario shares how when there are shifts in the financial space, it impacts minorities in gaining homeownership. She becomes the voice of this demographic to ensure market shifts don't keep them from owning a home. Dr. Vanessa dives into how there have been many times she was sitting at a table and certain people would talk over her. She realized if she was going through this in her position, then how many other women of color were facing the same issue as her. Not wanting to keep being quiet about the issue, she decided she needed to be on the opposite side of the table to make positive changes for equality in homeownership. Latonia also faced the same difficulties as Dr. Vanessa. She shares how most women, no matter their backgrounds, often struggle with imposter syndrome. We're sitting at tables and when sharing our ideas, they often get ignored. But when someone else says the same thing, it becomes a great idea. This is why Latonia and the other two ladies are in the positions they are today: to stand up for rights and be a voice for those who are often underrepresented. Mentors, Quotes, and Books Dr. Vanessa is passionate about reading and admires women who embody strength, vulnerability, and can lead with grace under pressure. She recommends Michelle Obama's book, "Becoming," and enjoys the quote, "Becoming is not about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain need, it's about the journey of continuous growth." Dr. Vanessa shares how the quote reflects that the process of growth is ongoing and contributes to one's identity. Latonia shares how she admires the CEO of TIAA, Thasunda Brown Duckett. She believes that Thasunda simplifies what it means to be a leader in the financial space while maintaining her authentic self. She's not afraid to share her journey with others and to help lift them up. Latonia's favorite quote from Thasunda is, "I rock my title, I own my character. My title belongs to my employer, my character is Thasunda Brown Duckett's ownable asset." Her favorite book is by Don Miguel Ruiz, "The Four Agreements," because it deeply resonates with her leadership style. Rosario doesn't have one person of admiration; instead, she celebrates every single person who is fighting and achieving their goals. When you help another woman rise, we all shine. And that's how we make an impact. So, let's build each other up and shine brighter than the sun. Today, and for the past several years, many people both here and abroad have been trying to make sense of the radical right and its financial and ideological grip on the Republican party. Why is it that so many Americans have turned against democracy? What explains the authoritarian reaction of so many American citizens, even when that reaction works so directly against their basic interests? How is it that this anti-democratic trend has escaped the explanatory frameworks of pundits and scholars alike? Perhaps we need to re-frame the narrative about the MAGA movement and the various constituencies that have somehow conspired to undermine democratic values and replace them with radical libertarian principles joined by theocratic, White nationalist, and anti-intellectual ideals. Addressing these concerns, Katherine Stewart has written Money, Lies, and God: Inside the Movement to Destroy American Democracy (Bloomsbury Press, 2025). Casting a light on the religious right's “Funders, Thinkers, Sergeants, Infantry, and Power Players,” Stewart recounts her effort “to record what I have seen and heard from the leaders and supporters of the antidemocratic movement in the auditoriums and breakout rooms at national conferences, around the table at informal gatherings of activists, in the living rooms of the rank and file, and in the pews of hard-line churches. The story features a rowdy mix of personalities: ‘apostles' of Jesus, atheist billionaires, reactionary Catholic theologians, pseudo-Platonic intellectuals, woman-hating opponents of ‘the gynocracy,' high-powered evangelical networkers, Jewish devotees of Ayn Rand, pronatalists preoccupied with a dearth of (White) babies, COVID truthers, and battalions of ‘spirit warriors' who appear to be inventing a new style of religion even as they set about undermining democracy at its foundations.” Over and against the idea that religion is a relatively insignificant factor in the rise of the radical political right, Stewart makes plain how Christian nationalism is “front and center” in the effort to solidify the power of the MAGA movement and Donald Trump's presidency. Richard B. Miller is the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Emeritus Professor of Religion, Politics and Ethics at the University of Chicago. He previously taught in the Department of Religious Studies at Indiana University where he also served as Director of the Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions.

Topic: Navigating Career Growth and Your Path in RenewablesModerator: Glenna Wiseman, Head of Marketing and Communications, Origis Energy Guest: Doseke Akporiaye, Executive Director of WRISEIn Episode 25 of Power Players by Origis®, host Glenna Wiseman, Head of Marketing and Communications for Origis Energy and Doseke Akporiaye, Executive Director of Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE), discuss career growth in renewable energy and the contribution women have made to the industry. Three key takeaways: Transferable skills are often undervalued by workers, but the key to success in the renewable energy sector. Behind every energy policy and statistic about clean energy is a person who has a job that's bringing economic life and dignity to families and communities. The energy sector today was built in the past. Don't let temporary times of uncertainty distract from the work of advancing the renewable energy sector for the future.
"Friday night, we lit a match under the quiet myths and watched them burn. It started with Theodor Herzl, scribbling dreams of a promised land while Europe simmered—then jumped to the Frankfurt School, those brainy exiles who swapped Germany for America, whispering chaos into the culture. What's the payoff? A grip on the levers that move us—dating apps turning romance into a game, silver-screen kings scripting our fantasies, and bankers counting coins while the world spins. Don't sleep on the night owls either—those shadow-dwellers churning out late-hour temptations, paired with music moguls remixing our souls. We asked the big one: is this a plot? A Marxist fever dream from the ‘30s, unleashed through tycoons who own the board? Some say it's a takeover—disrupt, dismantle, dominate—while others shrug it off as hustle in a free-for-all. Then there's the loyalty twist: can you root for a homeland far away and still bleed for the one you're in? We didn't hold back—Herzl's vision meets Frankfurt's critique, landing in a modern maze of power and play. The chat blew up, lines were drawn, and yeah, jaws dropped. Missed the fire? Replay's live—dive in and pick a side. Is this the blueprint for a flipped society, or just winners winning? We've got the dots; you connect ‘em. Bring your skepticism, your theories, and maybe a stiff drink. This isn't your average history lesson—it's a wake-up call from the shadows."

In this episode we're diving deep into the fascinating world of carbon recycling with a trailblazer who's reshaping how we think about waste and sustainability. Our guest is Dr. Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of LanzaTech—a company on a mission to transform our biggest environmental challenge into an economic opportunity. LanzaTech is pioneering a process that takes industrial emissions—the kind of harmful gases that typically contribute to climate change—and recycles them into valuable products like fuels, fabrics, and everyday consumer goods. The concept might sound like science fiction, but it's already science fact. LanzaTech's technology captures carbon emissions from sources like steel mills, refineries, and even municipal solid waste, then feeds those emissions to specially engineered microbes. These microbes act like tiny factories, converting carbon pollution into useful materials. Imagine jet fuel made from industrial waste or yoga pants created from captured carbon—it's not just possible; it's happening. In fact, at the very end of 2024, LanzaTech received a holiday gift from the federal government: a $200 million award from the Dept. of Energy. In this episode, Jennifer and I discuss the path LanzaTech took, including raising $400 million and taking 13 years prior to commercializing its first product. We also touch on her personal journey from her birth in Colombia to her taking the helm at LanzaTech. As you'll hear, this isn't just about reducing emissions; it's about completely rethinking the role of waste in our economy. LanzaTech's vision is one where carbon is no longer a liability but an asset—a resource that can be reused and recycled, over and over again. It's a powerful example of how businesses can align profitability with purpose, and it's precisely the kind of story that inspires hope in these challenging times. So, whether you're an entrepreneur, an environmentalist, or just someone curious about the future of our planet, this is a conversation you won't want to miss. Discussed in this episode Jennifer recommends reading Quiet by Susan Cain. LanzaTech awarded up to $200 million in federal cash from the DOE LanzaTech is backed by Khosla Ventures.
