Concluding this series with contradictions left and right. First Andy says that the New Testament is all new and can stand alone, then says that the Old Testament is the back story and Jesus fufills the law, then says that the Apostles unhitched the Old Testamend from Christianity and so should we. It makes no sense.
We have two fun tracks to bring in the new year with. First Andy hits us with Anderson.Paak telling us about his Sweet Chick(s) fea. BJ the Chicago Kid. Then James reminds you in 2020 to be you and do you, let the free spirit of Mikey Mike, Doin' Me, motivate you to be better for the next 365. Thanks for listening to Flow and Tell, leave us a review anywhere you listen to pods to help us grow. We love you all!
This episode was recorded during Gen Con at a Giordano's pizza place. First Andy shows Keith his prototype-in-progress for a new version of Chrononauts based on the historical events of the Star Trek universe. Keith talks about playing backgammon at a family reunion, then they get into discussing what they've been doing at Gen Con. Keith talks about why he had two booths, and describes the four Writer's Symposium panels he was on. This leads to a discussion of their favorite, and least favorite, alien races. Andy talks about running his newest Parsely game, Ducks on a Plane, then they play a couple of rounds of Andy's newest social deduction game, Are You a Robot?. Lastly, the pizza arrives, and the guys have to stop talking so they can eat!
First Andy talks about the recently announced plans for Star Trek Fluxxes, and talks about the name he finally came up with for his 31st pyramid game, Nomids. Then Andy gets heavy and talks about his current struggles with his aging father who's becoming increasingly forgetful. Next they talk work and about some of the challenges they each face as entrepreneurs in an overly saturated marketplace. Lastly, they spend a lot of time discussing the season finale of Star Trek Discovery.SPOILER WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS
First Andy talks about the trip to Amsterdam he's about to take, with his friend Bonnie, who's off to live overseas for 3 years. Then he talks about the development of the next version of Fluxx in the works, Anatomy Fluxx, which he's getting a lot of help with from his friend Dr. Leila Zucker. He talks about new rules they are adding to increase the educational value. Then they get into some discussions about early LARP games they wrote and/or played in, and Keith talks about having different colored contact lenses. Then they get into another big discussion about Star Wars.
First Andy and Keith talk about various subjects ranging from Harry Potter, the holidays, role-playing character motivations, The Twilight Zone, Over the Edge, and the concept of a Mary Sue character. This gets them talking again about the new Star Wars movie, which they discuss at length, again, mostly avoiding spoilers until near the end. Other topics along the way include Star Trek, The Sarah Conner Chronicles, Thor: Ragnarok, Knights of the Old Republic, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost.
First Andy goes through a few items of old business, mostly media related, including the new movie Loving Vincent and the older movies Sound of Her Voice, and What We Do in the Shadows. Andy mentions his 3-phase breakdown of working on a project, and they each talk about the books they have written. Then they talk about work, and how great it is to be working with the printer Delano, who printed both Doctor Who Fluxx and Action Cats! But they spend most of the episode discussing Thor: Ragnarok in great detail.
First Andy talks about the muddy camping trip he just returned from, a Burning Man regional event called Playa Del Fuego. Keith and Andy each then talk about the work projects they are focused on right now, and the tricky process of making sure that a game's rulesheet is clear enough to learn the game from. Keith talks about the new Twin Peaks, having softened his initial views. Other media topics include Archer, The Man in the High Castle, and after they lower the spoiler curtain, The Americans.Spoiler Alert: Contains spoilers!
Hello! The fellas are back. This week we are talking BBQ, Mexican, Ribs & Brisket. Wait, Wait... ok the slight heart stoppage has passed. First Andy talks about a Fast Food place that is out of this world with great burgers, BBQ and shakes and that's COOK-OUT! Then David takes us to a fancy Mexican joint in Austin called ZTejas. Then David tells us how he stayed up all night smoking a brisket because he's lost his mind. And finally Andy tells us about Shane's Rib Shack and all that is wonderful about that place.
