Send us a textWelcome to You Heard it Here Last, where we talk about news, you've already heard.I am a big fan of James Bond. I remember as a kid watching Dr. No on television and it blew my mind. Starting with Moonraker, I saw every James Bond film in the movie theater until the last one, No Time To Die. And while some were good, some were great, and some were just flat out bad, I didn't care. I loved them all…well except the last one, that was hot garbage.I read all the books, and bought and played the James Bond Roleplaying Game. So, you would think that I would be excited to hear that the Broccoli family has turned over control of the James Bond Franchise to Amazon.https://www.cbsnews.com/news/james-bond-amazon-mgm-deal-michael-wilson-barbara-broccoli-007/You would be wrong.I am terrified. Don't get me wrong. Amazon has put out some solid shows from Man in the High Castle, to Reacher, to the first season of The Boys. But recently we have had Rings of Power, and Wheel of Time, and yes, the last couple of seasons of The Boys to showcase the absolute shit they are willing to push upon their viewers. So, I am scared that they are gonna do 007 wrong.Mike, what do you think?[Kick to Mike]We love it when you mix TTRPG games with Computer Games and vice versa. In recent news Streetlight Studios has announced a new computer roleplaying game “Moondrift Memory; Prologue” and they say it will use the Pathfinder 2E rules set for the game.https://www.belloflostsouls.net/2025/02/moondrift-memory-prologue-promises-pathfinder-2e-mechanics-in-a-video-game-setting.htmlI like this news because it wasn't D&D. It is also a little interesting because it doesn't look to use Pathfinder's campaign setting Golarian, but seems to be its own thing. What do think about this one Mike?[Kick to Mike]And there you have it, All the news, you've already heard. Make sure you like and subscribe so you don't miss an episode of You've Heard it Here Last.

Cold Open (into silence)You love Dune? Like me?Frank Herbert is dead... wrong.Fear is NOT the mind-killer. Denial is.[Music ]IntroYou're listening to AutisticAF Out Loud. One voice. Raw. Real. Fiercely Neurodivergent. Since 1953.Season 5, Episode 5. Attacks on neurodivergence, facing our fears, finding our strength. Today we're talking threats, resistance, and the power of a hundred million voices. Just one autistic elder's truth. I'm Johnny Profane.Content Note: political violence, eugenics, genocide, institutionalized discrimination, systemic oppression + experiences & opinions of one autistic voice... in my 70s.[Music]You love Dune? Like me?Frank Herbert is dead... wrong.Fear is NOT the mind-killer. Denial is.I must honor my fear.Fear is my guardian. My junkyard dog. My screaming siren.Fear is the warning of annihilation. It must be heeded.I will embrace my fear. Then share its wisdom.I will let it flow through me. Become purpose & strength. And when we have acted? I will remember… its lessons.Where the Beast of Fear once stood, we will now stand. We will abide. Stronger for having feared… then acted… Together.Trust me. I know a lot about fear. I'm autistic. ADHD, too. In my 70s.Living in dangerous times in America. And we got a lot more to fear… than fear itself.[Music]Hey... you know how this works. If this resonates, now might be a good time to like, share… maybe text a link to a friend. Really helps get the word out.Trump administration identifies Autism & ADHD as "dire threats to the American people."Some folks called this headline hyperbole. Click-bait exaggeration. To my face. With hostility. Calling out what they see as “fear-mongering.”One fellow autist on LinkedIn really tore me a new one along those lines. Tried to anyways. I got a bit strong on her ass… So she blocked me. Exercising her denial. But this is how it starts. The White House labeled us a "dire threat." Not as evil actors, but based on our condition… our existence itself. Autism as a "dire threat." Not a difference. Then throwing out a gratuitous observation... “77% of young adults do not qualify for the military based in larger part on their health scores.” (Full Whitehouse.gov post.)As if that is how America now measures the value of our lives. As cannon fodder. As if there aren't now… and haven't been throughout history… Neurodivergent warriors.Demonizing all the disabled. All the Different. As if we are the ones destroying America.I'm struggling. I'm terrified...Even knowing that cruel terror is their purpose. Didn't help watching Man in the High Castle lately. The scene where ashes are falling because they're cremating the old and defective...I'm toast.About 1:43 in the YouTube linked in text.{video clip in text}This terror? Not just my personal problem. We neurodivergents ain't a small marginalized group. The numbers tell a bigger story:* About 30 million Americans have direct family ties to an autistic person* Roughly another 30 million have cousins or close relatives who are autistic* 60 million. That's 1 in 6 Americans with close autistic connectionsBut we're just getting started. Add in ADHD, even accounting for overlap between conditions, the numbers become staggering:* 69 million Americans have immediate family members affected* 75 million have extended family affected* Nearly 1 in 4 American families impactedWithout considering the millions of families affected by other disabilities. All these figures are back of the envelope. Conservative estimates from current prevalence rates. No formal research exists yet on these numbers. But the truth is clear…We're talking 1 in 4 American families?Let that sink in.When do we stop seeing these numbers as statistics? And start seeing the faces of neighbors. Your friends. Your loved ones? When are we ready to stand together?Even if they don't round us all up right away…They're already killing education programs. For Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, speech, hearing, vision, physical disabilities…Personally I'm secretly pleased to see torturous ABA-based programs unfunded. Applied Behavioral Analysis forces change on helpless autistic children. Screw that noise. But caring parents across the nation? They want support for their kids. They're showing up at Town Halls. Getting loud about these recent cuts. Expressing fear and anger. Hurting kids cuts deep. And wide.Worse yet? Over 80% of us autistics are unemployed or underemployed. Think about it. That means killing our Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Food Stamps, Housing, etc. That's institutionalized Economic violence. A soft means of killing us off. And Soft Genocide is the deadliest kind. It goes unnoticed. Unmourned. But, hey, it's not only lost benefits I'm worried about.Underlying many of Trump's policies?Turn over a rock on most? You'll find the sinister grin of “Eugenics” staring up at you. That debunked, unscientific program to improve human “breeding stock.” By terminating the reproduction of “Undesirables.”By any means necessary. Isolation, deportation, starvation, illness, violence, death. Just like Nazi Germany, against all disabilities. Libertarian Survival of the Fittest. At its finest.Ayn Rand would be so proud. “Meritocracy” my ass…Denial begins with dismissal. Violence begins with hate speech.Notice the subtle, insidious damage done here. Labeling neurodivergence and other differences as "dire threats." That may be the most dangerous aspect of this White House publication.Like they weaponized Disability, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) through propaganda. It's how it starts. The slow slide to genocide. We've seen this before. The marginalization of minorities."Do you want a BLIND person at the FAA?“Would you trust a PARALYZED person holding your life in their hands?""Do you see a WOMAN on the front lines… defending you? A transgender?”"How about an IMMIGRANT raping your daughter?”Mockery becomes hate speech.Becomes mass hatred.Becomes normalized violence. It's right there in the authoritarian… even Fascist… playbook. Now? It's The American Way.First, we're other. Then, we're less than human.A burden.A danger. Finally…A targetFor violence. And hate crimes against Americans with disabilities have risen 29.5% over the last five years. As American political discourse has darkened.See what I mean? Can we turn our horror into action? The very point of these propaganda tactics is terror.Threatening humans' income, medical care, housing… lives? That's terrorism. How can we possibly fight our fear becoming terror? This may encourage you. The sheer number of American families. Who are seeing their loved ones threatened.A 100 million... or more... affected American disabled families? I believe we can raise a decent reaction. If we act together.I've proven over and over again in my life I'm no leader. Executive functioning? Hell, I struggle to find topic sentences. Decisions over local action, political organization, resistance demonstrations? Beyond me.So I'm not about to create some Neurodivergent Justice League or anything. But one thing that someone like me can do? That is positive? Put a human face on suffering. Without spinning toxic positivity. You may disagree. I understand. Nevertheless?I have value. And this warning has merit. It can gather a crowd. Maybe more capable folks who can run with it.YET… There are 4 things we can do right now to effect change:* Share this warning. With friends. With government representatives. Make it visible. Make it heard.* Join the conversation below in comments. Your story matters. Your voice counts.* Connect with organizations already fighting this fight. They need our numbers. And maybe most important…* Create a mutual support network. Might be neighbors who check in with each other. Or more… shared travel, shopping together, mutual defense. A small community of choice.Fear is not the enemy…Fear is the Dance of Shiva, baby. When that Hindu god becomes the “Destroyer of Worlds" in the famous Oppenheimer quote. His flashing feet destroying the illusion of denial.Invoking a new creation.Feel your fear.Ride it.DO somethingWith its strength.Together, maybe… just may be...We can destroy ignorance. Make something… new.We must honor our fear. Then act. Together.OutroIn coming weeks, we'll challenge the medical model of autism, with an episode called, "CBT...? Never Worked for Autistic Me." Why? Part of a series on how neurodivergent individuals can build sustainable, authentic lives - with or without professional intervention.AutisticAF Out Loud podcast is supported solely by listeners like you. Dream 10X Episode 80: The Man In The High Castle
This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the discussion of and engagement with the Oracle (aka the Book of Changes or the I Jing) on the part of Juliana Frink and the Abendsens. Juliana is able to determine that Hawthorne Abendsen used the Oracle to write his alternate history novel The Grasshopper Lies Heavy. This then raises a question: Why would the Oracle choose to write a book? The answer is that through that, it reveals the truth about the world that is the setting for the novel, namely that the world in which the Axis powers won World War II is not the true or real world To support my ongoing work, go to my Patreon site - www.patreon.com/sadler If you'd like to make a direct contribution, you can do so here - www.paypal.me/ReasonIO - or at BuyMeACoffee - www.buymeacoffee.com/A4quYdWoM You can find over 3000 philosophy videos in my main YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/user/gbisadler You can get a copy of Man In The High Castle here - https://amzn.to/45yJ2ie
This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the experience that Nobusuke Tagomi has when he concentrates on a piece of jewelry produced by the Edfrank company in the park, and finds himself transported to an alternate America in a world in which the Allies won the war instead of losing it. The experience allows him to recenter himself from his trauma resulting from killing the two SD Kommandos in the Nippon Times Building. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on he new and original American jewelry produced by the Edfrank Custom Jewelry company and placed on consignment with Robert Childan's American Artistic Handcrafts, Inc. store. Childan gives Paul Kasoura one of the pieces, and there is a very interesting exchange between the two of them. Paul asserts that Frank Frink's jewelry is without aesthetic value, particularly wabi, but possesses a higher transcendent value of wu, placed in the artifact by its maker. Paul then proposes to Robert that the pieces can be used to mass-produce a line of copies for poor people in South America, which places Robert in a crisis that demands a decision be made. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on a plot-point only revealed in the last third of the book, but which has been set up as Tagomi organizes a meeting between the Swedish Baynes (actually the Abwehr agent Wegner) and retired Japanese general Tedeki). Baynes/Wegner reveals the existence and readiness of a Nazi plot for attaining world domination, Operation Dandelion, which involves a massive nuclear attack on Japan. This poses a dilemma, since Goebels, who is in process of consolidating his power, is in favor of Operation Dandelion, but Heydrich and the SD/SS are against the operation. Wegner suggests that the Japanese government should support the "most malignant part of German society", Heydrich and the police. This means collaborating with evil in order to prevent evil of a different sort and on a greater scale. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the interconnection between Nazism, various modes of insanity, and the evil they engage in and impose upon the world. We look at this through the eyes of non-Nazi characters (for the most part), including Robert Childan, Juliana Frink, Nobusuke Tagomi, Joe Cinnadella, and Rudolph Wegner. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the alternate history novel "The Grasshopper Lies Heavy" which is read and referenced by a number of the characters in the work. The novel by Abendsen sets out a world in which the Axis lost the second world war, and the world was subsequently divided between Great Britain and the United States of America, with the British eventually winning. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on two of the characters in the novel, Betty and Paul Kasoura, who are a younger Japanese married couple newly stationed in the Pacific States of America. We get to see them largely through their interactions with, and in the thoughts of Robert Childan, the American antiquities and artifacts dealer. We discuss three main interactions: the first in Robert Childan's shop, the second in the Kasoura's home, and the third in Paul's office. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on one of the characters central to the story, the Swiss Nazi assassin, on a mission to kill the "man in the high castle", Hawthorne Abendsen, the author of The Grasshopper Lies Heavy. He poses very convincingly as a bitter Italian veteran and trucker, who hooks up with Juliana Frink and proposes they go meet Abendsen. One of the interesting narrative features of this character is that we see him primarily only through his interactions with Juliana. She was married to Frank Frink, through whose memories and musings we learn a bit about her mindset, motivations, and appearance. Juliana has a one-night stand with an Italian ex-soldier and truck driver, Joe Cinnadella, who turns out to be a Nazi SD assassin. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on one of the main characters of the work, the dealer in American antiquities, Robert Childan, who is a person beset by multiple ambiguities. He accepts the racial hierarchy imposed by the Nazis and the Japanese, but also reacts against it. He suffers from an inferiority complex towards the Japanese, desires to be accepted by them, but also believes them at points to be a merely imitative people. He also is the person though whom Frank Frink's jewelry, imbued with wu, is discovered and brought to the attention of the Japanese, and he rises to the occasion to choose a kind of solidarity with the American artificers To support my ongoing work, go to my Patreon site - www.patreon.com/sadler If you'd like to make a direct contribution, you can do so here - www.paypal.me/ReasonIO - or at BuyMeACoffee - www.buymeacoffee.com/A4quYdWoM You can find over 3000 philosophy videos in my main YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/user/gbisadler You can get a copy of Man In The High Castle here - https://amzn.to/45yJ2ie

This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on one of the most central characters in the work, one who arguably provides the most consistent moral perspective throughout the novel, Nobusuke Tagomi, who is a Trade Mission official in the Pacific States of America. He is a person who values ethical action and intentions, and who is repulsed by the evil he sees the Nazis engaged in throughout the work. Tagomi also relies upon the Oracle (the Book of Changes or I Jing) throughout the narrative, but is also able to act upon his own when he considers the possibility of the world being abandoned by it. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the role that the ancient Chinese work and practice of divination, The Book Of Changes (Yi Jing/I Ching), generally referred to as "The Oracle". It is used by a number of the characters in the Pacific States of America and in the Rocky Mountain States within the novel, and for more than one purpose. Nobusuke Tagomi, Frank Frink, and Juliana Frink consult the oracle for guidance in preparing for and making decisions about important matters. In the cases of Tagomi and Frank, they also rely upon the oracle to better understand their own relationship to the Dao or their own unconscious. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the power struggles going on within the Third Reich of the alternate history in the 1960s, as the current chancellor and Führer Martin Bormann dies. The main Nazi leaders who are in the running for becoming the next chancellor and head of the Nazi party are Hermann Göring, Joseph Goebbels, Reinhard Heydrich, Baldur von Schirach, and Arthur Seyss-Inquart. We look at the assessments of each of these potential leaders, and also at the tendencies of the Nazi regime to promote "internecine conflict". This leadership crisis has massive global implications for all of the characters in the novel To support my ongoing work, go to my Patreon site - www.patreon.com/sadler If you'd like to make a direct contribution, you can do so here - www.paypal.me/ReasonIO - or at BuyMeACoffee - www.buymeacoffee.com/A4quYdWoM You can find over 3000 philosophy videos in my main YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/user/gbisadler You can get a copy of Man In The High Castle here - https://amzn.to/45yJ2ie

They blackmail Wyndam-Matson in order to get their start-up money, and then begin producing their jewelry. Tom Althouse joins us for an intriguing chat about the Matrix, his work - The Immortals - that Hollywood took to make that and other prominent films. And the New Hollywood. We chat about the example of OA and Dan Davidson, the mocking of the author's work, the honey pot girlfriend, working with Pat Robertson, the De Players and back door method, and the hidden symbolism. Why do they use this? For power or strictly mockery? In the second half we get into "The Man in the High Castle", films that changed the world, occult power, we are all dark and evil, the Asuras, Roseanne getting involved, the Oracle, Keanu knows, Warner Bros, the good guy sad warrior, the dumb public, the real red pill and how it is all coming to light. Those performances are part of his frequent collaborations with such Academy Award winning filmmakers as Robert Zemeckis and Ron Howard (Forrest Gump, Contact, Cast Away, Appollo 13, EDtv, and Frost/Nixon.) Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" What We Loved There was so much to love about 'To the Altar' that it's hard to know where to start! Firstly, we adored the chemistry between the main characters—particularly the friendship between Norman and Oliver. Those tuxedo scenes? Pure gold. Oliver's tender moment of buttoning up Shane's wedding dress was a beautiful touch. Nice directing from Kevin Fair on that one! Norman's horror-stricken face at his bachelor party when he saw the cake was hilarious. And let's not forget Oliver's freakout about shrimp sauce at the same event! On the emotional front, the portrayal of Annalise and Jessica's reunion struck a chord. Writer Martha Williamson tackled the complicated issues of mental health and homelessness with such grace and nuance; it left us in tears. The connection between Rita's loss and Jessica's reconnection with Annalise was a poignant example of beautifully woven storytelling. And who could overlook Keb Mo's soulful singing? Hearing him perform just elevated our viewing experience. Finally, the proposal scene between Shane and Oliver was everything we hoped for. Seeing Oliver wear the tie was a moment that had us gasping and reaching for tissues. What We Wished For Even in Hallmark heaven, there are a few things that could have used a bit of tweaking. First on our wish list is more closure for Colleen Camp's character, Sonny. Her sudden spelunking accident felt abrupt and left us wanting more context. While we learned from various sources that there were off-screen issues that might have led to this plot choice, the transition was jarring. Speaking of specifics, cave diving or "spelunking" as the cause of death seemed unusually dark for Hallmark standards.

Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all of your favorite fictional universes. Marvel Studios Town Hall (H) Our favorite shared universe multimedia franchise, that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, blessed us with an outpouring of updates this week, so let's tackle them in a segment we dub Town Hall: Hall H Speaking of Halls, Deadline sources say that Marvel Studios plans to return to San Diego Comic Con's marquee panel, Hall H, for the first time since 2022's Phase 5 and 6 slate reveals. With no lack of projects, series and films in the works, how big of a splash are we expecting from the studio come late July? Fantastic FourWhile speaking on the recently launched Marvel Official Podcast, Kevin Feige confirmed that the upcoming Fantastic Four film is a period piece set in New York in the 1960s. He also tipped his hat to fan observations noting the apparent alternate history setting seen in the promotional art, as quote, “smart”. And not to bury the lede, the studio president also confirmed the film's shooting start date for July 29, the day after Comic Con concludes. How do these deets jive with everything else we know about this hotly anticipated flick? AgathaEmpire Magazine unveiled an exclusive first image from Agatha All Along, of course featuring Kathryn Hahn, but also giving us our first look at Patti LuPone as Lila, Ali Ahn as Alice, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer and WandaVision's Debra Jo Rupp, as Sharon. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer provided the additional detail that the characters share the common bond of being witches without covens, who strain to work together, in spite of their selfish tendencies. Are we bewitched by these magical morsels? A Leaky Legacy for Supes? We aren't ones to celebrate or propagate unofficial leaks here on Multiverse News, but the magnitude and scale of the recent set leaks from James Gunn's Superman, beg a discussion. We won't go into details or describe the images in question, so you're free from spoilers; but it is worth noting that the clarity of the images, characters, costumes, and settings within, feel a bit more authorized or allowed than one might expect, with James Gunn even gesturing and posing for the camera. In typical fashion, the images have elicited a range of reactions from fans, both muted and hyperbolic. How about us? Does a production so leaky, have us quite as squeaky as some fans? Headmasters of HogwartsAfter the recent announcement that it would be an HBO series, rather than Max, the Harry Potter series has found its creative voice and force, with a pair of Succession alumni, Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod, joining the project. Gardiner will serve as writer and showrunner and Mylod will direct and executive produce the entire first season, which as we understand, will adapt JK Rowlling's first novel, The Sorcerer's Stone, for television. Gardiner's previous credits include AMC's Killing Eve, Amazon's The Man in the High Castle as well as His Dark Materials for HBO and the BBC, while Mylod recently directed The Menu as well as episodes of The Last of Us. Do any of these developments have us keen to catch the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 and ¾ when the series lands in 2026?
Luke met the most interesting man in the world yesterday. Not the guy you're thinking of - someone even more interesting than that. He and Andrew also preview a very special edition of TBTL that they're working on.
