In this extremely special two part interview we have Makeup and Vanity Set interview Com Truise. With the help of us or course. These two get right to the heart of it. Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
This weeks guest is a Rory O'Connor…the New York-based drummer for the Gramny-nomninated band Tycho. He also finds time for his own electronic music under the name Nitemoves. Before joining Tycho, Rory played with Com Truise (another legend in that world of music). Rory brings the world of Tycho to life both in the studio AND figuring out how to re-create his own (often-chopped up) grooves for a live setting in the most interesting ways. With what I do for one of my projects, Cannons, I look up to Rory a whole hell of a lot. Cheers! At Soundfly, we're constantly exploring ways to understand and explain the practical aspects of music, but we can't deny that aspects of it can be wonderfully inexplicable. Music can say things that can't be articulated through any other medium. It can conjure empathy between strangers. In a sense, it can even transport us from one reality to another. For the most recent episode of our podcast, Themes and Variation, Carter Lee and Mahea Lee sat down with electronic musician, inventor of the genre mid-fi synthwave slow-motion funk, and recent Soundfly course instructor, Seth Haley (a.k.a. Com Truise) to chat about "Songs to Escape Into." Themes and Variation is presented by Soundfly, a music education website changing the way we build our creative skills : Check out all of our courses including Com Truise: Mid-fi Synthwave Slow-motion Funk https://soundfly.com/courses (here.)
