Anything Goes with James English Ep/94 Glenn Tamplin tells his story. The Essex millionaire, who made his fortune in steel, wants to use his remarkable life story to help everyone, from the homeless to drug addicts and former Premier League youngsters, whatever their ambitions may be. Tamplin is driven by an extraordinary experience he had three years ago, when he says he met God. His life had been hit hard by cocaine addiction and depression and he was pronounced dead following an overdose, which led to an out-of-body experience that shaped his purpose. We went to Essex to celebrate with Bostik League Premier Division champions Billericay Town and had a chat with top scorer Jake Robinson about their fantastic season, winning the treble, scoring lots of goals and club owner/manager/master of ceremonies Glenn Tamplin. We also have the usual features, including the food review and a special version of the tense quiz feature.
Tim Fuell, Dave Anderson and Swampy take a look at the biggest stories at grassroots as the season draws to a close. Perhaps the biggest subject in non league this season has been Billericay Town. With owner Glenn Tamplin having stepped aside from team involvement, Harry Wheeler has driven the Essex side to the title in the Isthmian Premier and promotion much spoken about but still needed to be achieved. Harry talks to the team about the difficulties over the past season, and why he is proud of his players and where he thinks the club is heading under his managerial guidance. The season may be ending for many this weekend, but there are still many permutations for promotion, relegation and play-offs. Yet, even the rules and their application aren't completely clear as the team discuss. The other most talked about non league side this season has probably been Salford City. Having secured their own title, Anthony 'Jonno' Johnson returns to the show to explain what it all means and what he thinks it will take to move on with the team again next term.
