For the past 38 years, Lee Corso has entertained us with his silly, zany, and sometime foul mouth humor. 430 total times he wore the head gear, 45 times he made our Ohio State Buckeyes his choice. On Saturday afternoon, August 30th, Corso, put on the Brutus the Buckeye's head gear for the final time. Exactly where it all began in 1996. At 90, we don't know how much longer our coach will be around, but it's only the best way to leave the big stage. I HAD A REALLY GREAT TIME WATCHING ALABAMA AND CLEMSON LOSE YESTERDAY! F-em! Today is very busy, another podcast to be on, my league's fantasy football draft and a jersey selection for the draft. Also, all picks and college football teams that Lee Corso was affiliated with won. Maryland, Navy, Indiana, Florida State, Louisville, and Northern Illinois all won their games. The longtime Angus breeder grew up on a peanut farm and commercial cattle operation in Florida, but his lifetime in the cattle business has taken him from Missouri to the East Coast and eventually to Ohio. Paul and his business partner, Marshall Reynolds, founded Champion Hill Angus and grew it into a leading Angus program across the country, especially well known for their success in the show ring. Here he shares the secret to finding the right cow lines, his philosophy around seizing opportunities and the role of surrounding yourself with good people. GUEST: Longtime Angus breeder Paul Hill is most notably associated with Champion Hill Angus, Bidwell, Ohio, which he owned and operated with his wife, Lynn, and business partner, Marshall Reynolds. They dispersed in 2017 but still remain involved in various ways. The Hills raised two daughters in the Angus business, Sarah and Neenah. Sarah served as 1992 Miss American Angus and on the National Junior Angus Board of Directors in 1993-1994. Paul's career started at the Herdsman Institute, with an intermission for service in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Briarhill Angus Farms in Union Springs, Ala., in 1971, as in Connecticut, South Carolina and Virginia before working for Marshall Reynolds 1990. The two became business partners in 1993, founding Champion Hill Angus. The herd, which included 200 donor cows and 900 recipients, had a year-round breeding program to maximize the use of recipients and supply the demand for show heifers. Paul served on the American Angus Association Board of Directors and was chairman in 2007-2008. That's we wanna be very precise about that as we were getting ready for representative Sherry Bigg's Salute to Liberty, that is gonna be going on this afternoon. I'll tell you what. I just walked into the main auditorium. We're in the VIP area right now. Just walked over into the main auditorium. It looks fantastic. It really, really does. It looks absolutely amazing. So it's gonna be a great event tonight. And, if you haven't got your your tickets yet, you can always go online. For an event like this, first term congresswoman, you know, expecting maybe four or 500 people, except tonight, they are saying they've already had reservations for over 1,200, and that is, that is gonna be a huge event. Of course, we got, governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders gonna be here later on this afternoon. And, that is, that's a oh, a huge draw. She is what a a a wonderful, wonderful conservative Sarah Huckabee Sanders is. Let's see. Charlie, I just read an interesting article about Laura Loomer and Lindsey Graham. We'll talk about that article coming up because I have seen that all weekend long. But I guess the big news right now is that Volodymyr Zelensky, was at the White House today. And let me tell you something. You wanna talk about a change between what happened today at the White House and what happened a few months ago at the White House. Everything was different. A couple of months ago, Zelensky walked into the White House with an attitude. So once the Zelensky walked into the White House with with a sweatsuit on and and combat boots, he walked in with with just such arrogance and it you know what? It did not play well with Donald Trump. It did not play well with JD Vance. Today, much more subdued, much more relaxed. In fact, they were joking and kidding around there in the White House about Zelensky's suit. I said the one that attacked you last time. I wanna go back and get this this whole comment here. President Zelensky, you look fabulous in that suit. I said the same thing. Yeah. Look. You look good. I said the same thing. Yeah. It was good. I said the one that attacked you last time. See? There were four others that I released first. All of them are still available to this day. Though one podfaded. When I started, I was publishing the Celtic Music Magazine every week. I started podcasting to promote Celtic bands, but mostly I wanted to promote my own band, Brobdingnagian Bards. It was a new and exciting way to get my music heard. But something happened along the way. It became less and less about my band and more about how I could help bands be heard. And it worked. In fact, I featured a total of 79 Celtic bands in the months that followed in 2005. That includes Brobdingnagian Bards and my Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers project. Admittedly, The Gothard Sisters were a late addition to the show, coming on in 2010. But of all the bands, they are to me a shining beacon of this podcast.
