Rio heads to Carrington for an unmissable sit-down with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes — his most honest interview yet.For the first time, Bruno lifts the lid on the truth behind his Manchester United loyalty, revealing two genuine chances he had to leave, why he stayed, and how modern players' loyalty is judged differently compared to legends like Francesco Totti, Ryan Giggs and Paolo Maldini.Bruno also breaks down the big tactical shift in his game this season — how playing deeper has changed his decision-making, the challenges for him and Kobbie Mainoo who play in that role what the manager demands from him in the No.8 position, and how Italian football influenced his game.He gives rare insight into United's dressing room dynamics, analysing his teammates and explaining the incredible level of detail he computes on the pitch to ensure he delivers the perfect pass depending on which forward he's feeding.Bruno also addresses Roy Keane's criticism and how he really feels about it, the private conversations referees have had with him about body languag and discussions with managers Ruben Amorim and Erik Ten Hag about the level of pressure he puts on himself and how it sometimes negatively affects the team's structure. And in classic Rio Meets style, Bruno opens up about the personalities behind the scenes — the biggest jokers in the squad, what really happens when someone steps out of line, and how he handles moments as captain that fans never get to see. In the hot seat this week is Martyn Waghorn. Waghorn was a young pro at Sunderland during the time Browny was making waves on and off the pitch. Despite ‘looking after' Waghorn, Browny did forget to tip him for cleaning his boots so there is a score to settle right off the bat here. With a path into the first team blocked Waghorn dropped down to Leicester following a successful loan spell and got his first taste of first team football under Sven Goran Erikkson. When Rangers came knocking it was impossible not to jump at the move even though they were playing in Scottish Championship at the time, witnessing a true juxtaposition of playing at Ibrox to teams who rented out their local pitches after matches. Returning to England Waghorn got to play under footballing legends Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney and encounter a serious array of young footballers coming through including the likes of Viktor Gyökeres, Mason Mount & Fikayo Tomori.

JOIN MSC INSIDER BELOW: https://modernsoccercoach.mimentorportal.com/subscriptions As Martin O'Neill returns to Celtic Football Club, we revisit a powerful conversation that captures everything he stands for as a coach and leader. From his early days under Brian Clough to managing Leicester, Celtic, Aston Villa, and the Republic of Ireland, O'Neill has lived through every phase of football's evolution — and he's never lost sight of what truly matters. In this interview, Martin reflects on: The lessons from Brian Clough and why simplicity still wins in a complicated world. Rebuilding belief at Celtic, turning a 21-point deficit into a 6–2 victory over Rangers and a title-winning side. Managing upwards in the modern game, where CEOs, directors, and data often overshadow football people. Roy Keane's impact on culture, standards, and leadership inside the dressing room. The dangers of over-analysis, and why clarity and trust will always be the foundation of coaching. It's an honest, entertaining, and deeply relevant listen for any coach navigating today's game — reminding us that football is still, at its core, about people, relationships, and belief.
