Recently, I've had conversations around the same question at least three times. With a friend, on a hangout with Jason Wiser, and in the 30 Day Online Visibility Challenge program … how do I start building my platform, a.k.a. audience? Platform, audience, tribe, community, followers… without them, it's nearly impossible to stand out and get your message heard. Committing the time and effort to building your platform increases your visibility…guaranteed. Shervington has done (and does) a BUNCH of stuff. Once he discovered Google+, though, Martin KNEW it was the place for him to dig in and focus. Bring Martin back!” Read more › The post Profile or Page – Branding On Google Plus – Martin Shervington appeared first on On Track Tips - Get on Track, Stay on Track | one expert at a time.

Newsflash: Visuals matter. I would even venture to say that visuals matter more than words. Because if you don't have a great visual, people aren't going to click through to read those words that are so important to you. And it's not just any visual - it's high-quality visuals. Adding a stock photo to your content isn't going to be what gets your content read. It needs to be good-looking and compelling. If your featured images suck, it doesn't say much about you and your content. Furthermore, your visuals must work on mobile, because more and more people are consuming and sharing content through those handheld tiny screens. If you're not working to create better visuals to market yourself, it's time to start.
