The Robyn Engelson Podcast Ever wish you had a life mentor with over decades of experience whispering million dollar wellness tips in your ear? That's exactly what you will get each week when you tune into The Robyn Engelson Podcast. I'm your host, a sought after burnout recovery coach for high-achieving women and help you heal from burnout and survival mode, so you can reclaim your energy, joy, and rediscover your voice. Each week, I bring you inspiring guests, insights, and tools to empower you to be energized, compress time, and start living instead of existing. Episode Title: Why True Success Starts with Alignment, Not Achievement? Host: Robyn Engelson Guest: Sabine Schoepke Episode Summary: In this episode, we dive deep into the powerful midlife reinvention journey of Sabine Schoepke, a seven-time entrepreneur, best-selling author, and transformational coach. After building multiple successful businesses, Sabine hit burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. What followed wasn't a breakdown, it was a breakthrough. She sold her company, her belongings, and moved to a quiet farmhouse in Germany to rediscover what truly mattered. Through solitude, healing, and self-reflection, Sabine found a new definition of success, one rooted in alignment, purpose, and joy. Today, she coaches others through similar transitions, helping them turn burnout into a bridge to something better. This conversation is a must-listen if you're navigating a big life change, questioning your path, or craving a deeper sense of meaning. You'll learn: Why burnout is often a signal of misalignment, not failure? How Sabine's journey through solitude led to personal healing? The difference between achievement and fulfillment. How to listen to your inner voice when life gets quiet? Why reinvention isn't about starting over, it's about starting wiser? Tools and mindsets for creating a life aligned with your values. Memorable Quotes: “I had built a successful life, but it didn't feel like mine.” “Stillness gave me answers hustle never could.” “You're not starting over. You're starting wiser.” Resources & Mentions: Sabine Schoepke's Website: Explore coaching, programs, and retreats designed to help you realign your life with purpose, peace, and joy. https://www.thepowerlifecoach.com/ Actionable Steps for Listeners: 1. Redefine Success on Your Own Terms Take 15 minutes to journal what aligned success looks like for you, beyond money or job titles. Let purpose lead. 2. Honor the Burnout Signal Feeling off, drained, or restless? Burnout is often a signal, not a failure. Reflect on what your body and spirit are asking you to change. 3. Create Space for Stillness Whether it's a solo walk, a quiet morning, or a weekend away, permit yourself to slow down. That's where clarity finds you. 4. Embrace Reinvention, at Any Age Midlife isn't too late; it's often the perfect time to pivot. Use what you've lived through to guide where you're meant to go. 5. Surround Yourself With Voices That Uplift Whether it's through coaching, community, or content, stay close to people who reflect back your strength, not your fear. Final Thought: Reinvention doesn't start with a business plan. It starts with a whisper, the one inside you asking, “Is this really the life I want?” Trust that voice. Let it lead you to something more aligned, more joyful, more you. What listeners have to say: Sabine Schoepke's episode resonates deeply with women navigating career pivots, life transitions, and the emotional weight of burnout. Her story is helping listeners redefine what success feels like, not just what it looks like. Maya S., a former tech executive, shared that Sabine's story gave her permission to step back from constant productivity and finally explore what she wants outside of corporate expectations. Denise K., a midlife entrepreneur, said the idea of “starting wiser, not over” helped her reframe her divorce and business closure as the beginning of something more aligned, not a failure. Nina A., a healthcare leader, reflected that Sabine's move to a remote farmhouse inspired her to take a weekend off-grid, and in that silence, she heard the clarity she'd been chasing for years. These stories remind us: Midlife isn't a crisis, it's an invitation. Burnout isn't weakness, it's wisdom asking for change. And reinvention isn't about starting again, it's about starting true. Now it's your turn: What moment, quote, or idea from Sabine's story made you pause? Did something in her journey mirror your own? We'd love to hear from you. Share your reflection and help someone else feel less alone in their own midlife pivot. Loved this episode? If you found value in this conversation, don't forget to leave a review! We had to pivot this week as our guest had to reschedule, last minute, for personal reasons. Instead, Timmy and I look back at our lives over the last five years and provide the biggest lessons we have learned. We hear the expression, "you are not who you were yesterday", however how many of you actually take a second to see how far you have come? Daily Study: There are two economic systems on Earth – the world system and God's system – which operate entirely differently. Jesus told us that the children of this world are wiser than the children of light. This means that they understand how to get ahead financially within their own economic system, whereas God's children are unaware and don't make full use of their economic system. Text us your wine questions, craziest wine experiences, or if you just have a comment for us. . This week's podcast features a chat with Dr. Don Livermore. Though you are unlikely to know who he is, it is entirely likely that you have had products that he has overseen in his nearly 30 years at the Hiram-Walker distillery and the brand in question today - J.P. Wiser's, which is Canada's longest running brand of whisky. Wiser's is older than Canada, if that gives you some indication Dr. Don is, on paper, a Master Blender, but in reality, he's a virtuoso performer in that roll. He is the first Canadian to win Master Blender of the Year in the world at the World Whisky Awards. He developed the Canadian Whisky Flavour Wheel, a comprehensive and must-have resource for anyone interested in learning more about flavours in Canadian whisky. More than anything though, he is an amazing ambassador for Canadian whisky and is willing to take time to talk about the history, the chemistry, and art of making whisky. I really hope to have him on the podcast again in the future to learn more about the history of whisky in Canada. So here it I, my conversation with Dr. Don Livermore from JP Wiser's. This week we're playing an episode from one of our favorite shows, Wiser Than Me, hosted by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Each week, she has funny, touching, personal conversations with iconic older women who are brimming with the kind of unapologetic attitude and wisdom that only comes with age. On today’s episode of Wiser Than Me, Julia welcomes legendary chef, author, and farm-to-table pioneer Alice Waters. They discuss Alice’s incredible career at her groundbreaking restaurant Chez Panisse and turning 80. Together, they explore the philosophy of age, food, and beauty. Julia also asks Alice about the meaning she finds in moments of pause, and later talks with her 90-year-old mom, Judith, about the victory garden she grew up with during World War II.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode:This episode features a Medical Mailbag segment that tackles the latest in sports technology, specifically lactate sensors. Are they the holy grail of performance metrics or just another shiny gadget? Jeff and Juliet break it down with their usual wit and sarcasm, dissecting whether these sensors provide meaningful insights for age-group athletes or if they're just fancy toys to make us feel better about our training. Spoiler alert: the answer isn't as clear-cut as you might hope. Then, the podcast dives into an unexpected yet fascinating realm of sports: pole vaulting, as seen through the eyes of David Bonham, a former high school pole vaulter turned masters athlete. It's wild to think that after years away from the sport, an impromptu return was spurred on by his daughter's passion for vaulting. David's journey is not just about jumping over a bar; it's a rollercoaster of life experiences, including a near-fatal heart attack and a major knee injury that would make anyone else reconsider their athletic aspirations. But not David. Oh no, he saw that heart attack as a wake-up call—an invitation to reclaim his athletic past and, quite literally, jump back into the fray.In this episode, we get a front-row seat to David's world of pole vaulting, where he humorously recounts the absurdity of being the 'old guy' among teenagers at practice. His story is sprinkled with moments of irony, especially when he mentions how he was once self-taught, only to find himself once again under the watchful eye of coaches who actually know what they're doing. It's an inspiring tale of resilience; after a year of recovery from a devastating ACL tear, David not only returns to pole vaulting but also competes at a master's level, proving that age is just a number when you're having this much fun. Trust me, you'll want to hear how he navigates the perils of high school competition and the joy of setting personal records in his mid-fifties—it's a story about passion, persistence, and the occasional ridiculousness that comes with chasing your dreams at any age.Segments:[06:10]- Medical Mailbag: Lactate sensors[36:13]- Interview: David Bonham LinksThe TriDoc Podcast in Supplement Form (newsletter)@flying_higher2022 on Instagram David's Facebook page

Welcome to a new week here on the Retirement Quick Tips podcast! I'm your host and guide, Ashley Micciche. I'm a financial advisor and co-owner of True North Retirement Advisors, a fee-only fiduciary financial advisory practice managing over $425M in assets. For 17 years, I've helped my clients retire with confidence, and my goal on this podcast is to help you simplify the complexities of retirement so you can focus on what truly matters— living a fulfilling retirement while maintaining financial security. I just turned 40 last week. I still don't know how I feel about it. They say that age is just a number, but I don't really agree with that. Another birthday and another trip around the sun is an annual reminder that life on this earth is very brief, and hopefully we all grow to be better & wiser along our journey of life. Do I feel older this year? I've been having a lot of pain in my hips and back recently. The other day I was bending over to help one of my kids with something, and as I stood up again, I couldn't do that all at once. I got stuck about ⅔ of the way back up, and had to pause and move slow the rest of the way back to vertical. I'm constantly putting on hand lotion because the skin on the back of my hands are starting to look all crepey. Stuff that didn't even enter into my orbit now occupies mental space in my head - like I better take it slow standing back up and did I remember to put my crepe cream on before bed. So I definitely feel older. Wiser too? Maybe, we'll see…Because this week and next week on the podcast, I'll be sharing with you 40 life lessons I've learned over the last 40 years.

Most people see investing as just stocks and numbers, but the world's greatest investors approach it differently. Their biggest lessons go beyond money—they're about how to think, make smarter decisions, and live a richer life. William Green, bestselling author of Richer, Wiser, Happier, has interviewed over 50 legendary investors, including Charlie Munger, Howard Marks, and Sir John Templeton. Along the way, he's uncovered powerful insights that apply not just to investing but to leadership, business, and personal growth. In this episode, William shares what leaders can learn from investors about making better decisions, avoiding costly mistakes through inversion thinking, and applying the power of compounding to knowledge, relationships, and habits. He reveals why mastering emotions matters more than mastering money, why intuition is just as critical as data, and how knowing your circle of competence helps you focus on playing games you're equipped to win and knowing your limits. We also explore how ethical leadership isn't just the right thing to do—it's a long-term advantage, and long-term success is often tied to integrity, self-awareness, and learning from both wins and failures. ________________ Start your day with the world's top leaders by joining thousands of others at Great Leadership on Substack.
