Growing up we had images of doing for self, "making it" meant moving to that deluxe apartment in the sky. How do we change the thinking to build where we are and not just running to the other side? Listen/Comment/Share & Say Something!!!

It seems as if everyday we turn on the news and see one prominent figure after another involved in some form of sexual misconduct or abuse. We like to say it's famous people or individuals in position of power, but is it more of a case of societal culture? In the midst of this #MeToo movement, no one is saying abuse is ok but there are a lot of people who just aren't saying anything. Making excuses & looking the other way makes you involved even if you're not trying to be. Listen/Comment/Share and Say Something!!!

I think it's safe to say that we all believe in "free thinking" but at what point or does it at all become dangerous? Do you lose your ability to speak your mind when more people are listening? Does there need to be a form of policing within the community for people who say/do destructive things and where do we draw the line? And who do we trust to enforce it? Listen/Comment/Share & Say Something!!!
With incident after incident being reported in the news on how the sheer presence of Black people requires a law enforcement presence in businesses across the country, in many cases where no crime was committed, is it time to shift our thinking from these being "isolated incidents" to a more common way of thinking? As "Driving While Black" has turned to "walking", "golfing", "shopping", "eating", "studying" ...etc and businesses/organizations and even schools use our removal as an instant "go to", have we reached the point that even in a capitalist society our money is no good? The term "spending power" gets thrown around a lot, but what happens when how someone feels about you trumps even how much money you spend with them? Listen/Comment/Share and Say Something!!!
As Florida legislators move closer to arming teachers, at the same time in 3 different states teachers have discharged weapons on school campuses even leading to injury. How will this make our kids safe? With Florida being a "Stand Your Ground" state will a teacher be justified in shooting an unarmed student? With so many cases of inappropriate behavior by teachers could the presence of a gun lead to more issues when it comes to abuse of authority? Will the teachers also be trained in self defense to avoid having their guns taken and are they going to be held responsible if it is? We have to ask these questions, get involved and Say Something! How do we just start being able to let out what we're going through as well as being compassionate to what someone else is dealing with? Listen/Comment/Share and Say Something!!!
"Home is where the heart is." A phrase used for years but does it still apply? Is home a place of peace, protection, stability? In America your child is statistically far more likely to be exploited and abused by someone who either lives at or was let in to the home. With predators seemingly everywhere how do we protect our babies? Failure to respond to an accusation in the workplace can lead to termination but what about when the parent doesn't act? Today is known as the "Information age"; history, news, sports even learning a foreign language can all be done by pressing a button on our cell phones. With so much access to everything have we been taking it for granted? Recently with the removals of news programs, personalities and even networks that focus their info on the "Black" community along with the Net Neutrality policy change how will it effect us? Without radio, television and potentially a restructured internet how will we get the necessary info to our children and each other? How do we introduce the need for personal interaction and communication to a generation that may not have seen it before? A lot is happening in the world now...how will WE stay informed? Listen/Comment/Share and Say Something!!!
With new policies coming in to place in January, things like the legalization of marijuana and regulations when it comes to gun control that were once seen as wrong are suddenly being seen as right. When we've created an environment and a culture that is destroying us from the inside what do we do? Listen/Comment/Share and Say something!!!
It seems like every day there is a brand new scandal, allegation or indictment in the news. Once beloved stars of film, music, tv, etc, are now the focus of investigations for some of the most heinous acts. It seems like an entire culture has been created and maintained by "looking the other way". When we have to face the reality of our stars, recognize that that the television isn't the only source of drama in our homes and that looking the other way makes you a criminal co-star... we have to Say Something!!! This episode we've got special guest former NFL Linebacker Cincinnati Bengal Adrian "Maddbacker" Ross with us as we break down the current state of the NFL, players using their platform and the way they're being cultivated from college. Is an athlete anymore "privileged" to have their job than anyone else? We don't tell our accountants, doctors, or store clerks to "shut up and just do their job" when it comes to social issues but somehow being an athlete means you're supposed to be silent. Does our need for entertainment trump their need to be heard? After the recent comments from some team owners about how they truly see the players, are players upset enough to possibly risk a check? And if not, what will it take? Listen/Comment/Share & Say Something!!!
Have we become a people of "Free Agents"? Instead of the question being Malcolm or MLK have we become more like LeBron? Are we just doing what's best for us and ours? Is "selling out" now simply a form of "I gotta Get Mine, You Gotta Get Yours"? Listen/Comment/Share and Say Something!!!
Black Americans are on pace to spend over a trillion in the US economy this year but have less than 2% ownership of the total wealth, land and resources it will go to. With racial tensions so high is it time for Black people to just fall back? Would social-economic segregation rebuild black wealth? Would those missing dollars create more appreciation from other races? Listen/Comment/Share and Say Something!!!
