The Knicks are dominating the NBA Finals, but are they still not getting the respect they deserve? On WFAN's Carton Show, Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle react to the national media's continued focus on Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs instead of giving credit to Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and the Knicks.

What should a stepmom do when her stepkids are disrespectful?Few things trigger a stepmom faster than being ignored, talked back to, rolled eyes at, or treated like she doesn't matter. When you're already questioning your role in the family, disrespect from a stepchild can feel deeply personal—and it can quickly create resentment, frustration, and conflict in your marriage. In this episode of The Stepmom Side Podcast, Alicia dives into one of the most common challenges stepmoms face: dealing with disrespectful stepkids. She explains why disrespect from stepkids often hurts more than people realize, how feelings of uncertainty and lack of belonging can amplify those interactions, and what stepmoms can do instead of reacting from anger or hurt.Whether you're dealing with eye rolls, backtalk, being ignored, or feeling completely unsupported, this episode will help you respond with confidence instead of resentment. If you've ever found yourself wondering whether your stepkids respect you—or if you've questioned whether you even belong in your family—this episode is for you.Support the showWant a specific topic covered? Is this year's "list season" going to be "disrespect season" for our reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks? We take a look at four recent Seahawks-related narratives in this week's show as 49ers fans react oddly to an "Lumen South" meme. The first "list" is a 2024 NFL redraft that sends Seattle away from Byron Murphy only to land on Braden Fiske. In what world is Fiske better than Byron Murphy? In other Rams news, Ian Rapoport is carrying water for the Rams by saying drafting Ty Simpson still "makes a ton of sense" after Matthew Stafford's extension. Finally, Mina Kimes and Ben Solak's 2026 QB draft board slots Sam Darnold 19th behind players like Kyler Murray and rookie Fernando Mendoza. Support the show Get in the Flock! As the wine flows in the Spring of 92 AD, Gaius and Germanicus shift their focus to the power of ceremony and the "paper tiger" status of modern empires. They analyze the symbolic "disrespect" shown during a meeting between the American and Chinese emperors in Beijing, noting how ritualized slights reflect a collapsed military reputation. Germanicus argues that the United States has "defanged" its own sea power, rendering a clash over Taiwan unnecessary because the global power dynamic has already shifted. The duo also delves into historical revisionism, suggesting the Pacific War was an avoidable tragedy exacerbated by failed diplomacy with Japan. Amidst "upbeat stories" for the resting centurions, they conclude that the Anglo-American alliance is viewed as a single entity by Eastern powers, much as it was during the 20th century. The retired soldiers find comfort in these tales of strategic errors that do not reflect their own storied service. (2/3)1937 IMPERIAL JAPAN ARMY IN SHANGHAI

Your presence is the most powerful thing you own, and every time you tolerate disrespect, you water it down. In this episode, I break down why distance — not argument, not drama, not reaction — is the most powerful response to people who don't respect your worth. From a hard lesson I learned early in my career about undervaluing myself to understanding why reckless people step on boundaries they don't have themselves, this one will challenge you to protect your presence like the asset it truly is. Key Takeaways Your presence is who you are, what you stand for, and how people think of you — protect it fiercely. What you tolerate directly diminishes your value. Tolerating disrespect signals to others and yourself that you don't respect yourself. Early in my career, I learned that undervaluing yourself tells others you won't value their work either. Never bid too low on yourself. Establishing clear boundaries is not optional. Without them, people will impede on your life, your space, and your identity. People who ignore your boundaries typically have no boundaries of their own — and reckless people are dangerous people. Action Steps Identify one area of your life where you have been tolerating disrespect and make a decision today to create distance from it. Write down your non-negotiable personal boundaries and practice communicating them clearly and without apology to the people in your life. Audit how you value yourself — in pricing, in relationships, in time — and raise the bar to match what you actually know you are worth. Notable Quote Distance is the best answer to disrespect. Don't react, don't argue, don't dive into drama — simply remove your presence.

Recorded: September 09, 2024 Episode 293 is HERE and The Boys brought in the big guns with none other than Nickmercs! Nick was a pioneer in the streaming industry with his early start in COD Ghost, to his blowup years playing Fortnite. Nick is now a father and a husband and is learning how to balance his full-time streaming job with family. Recently Nick has also had to deal with controversy surrounding his stream. Twitch banned him for the use of a word that he at the time did not know was a slur. Nick is here to set straight that he has love for anyone and everyone and wishes a happy healthy life to all. However, Nick is strong in his convictions and beliefs. So much so that seeing the tyranny happening worldwide led him to attempt joining the Navy Seals. Nick grew up wrestling and boxing. He comes from a family of CFB, and NFL talent. Something his father very much pushed him toward as a young kid. Nick had other plans. He and his dad (now extremely close) often fought when he was growing up, due to his Dad's lack of understanding the "gaming community" at its early stages. Nick and his father both talk about their healing relationship on the bus and how it now has effected Nick's outlook on raising his own son. The brand that Nick has built is still growing to this day, as he is now looking to enter back into competitive gaming. He reminisces with Taylor and Will on his Gears of War MLG days.. his hunger for competition and the feeling of accomplishment that he gained from winning tournaments. Taylor then talks ball and recaps watching Michigan's loss to Texas. Nick being a lifelong Michigan fan chimes in with his thoughts on the Wolverines. Both, then amp up Will's Cornhuskers. Could Nebraska officially be back? Will tells us his thought on the resurgence of The Big Red and his hype videos that he is making for Nebraska's home games in 2024. We hope you enjoy this episode! We hope Mitch's timestamps below meet your expectations. We hope you look under your pillow later tonight.. and who knows.. maybe find a big hug.. and just the tinniest lil kiss you've ever seen! https://teachhoops.com/ In the world of high-level competition, we often talk about players who "play with a chip on their shoulder." It's that invisible weight that drives a player to outwork the "top-tier" recruit, to dive for the loose ball in a 20-point blowout, and to treat every practice like a Game 7. But as coaches, we have to understand that a "chip" is a double-edged sword. When harnessed correctly, it is the ultimate fuel for Resilience and Effort. When left unchecked, it can turn into "Hero Ball," resentment toward teammates, or a lack of emotional control that leads to technical fouls. To build a championship culture, you must teach your players how to use that perceived disrespect as a "Strategic Advantage" rather than an emotional burden. The "chip" usually stems from a specific moment of rejection: being cut from a team, being ranked low in a scouting report, or being told they are "too small" or "too slow." This creates a "Prove Them Wrong" mentality. As we discuss in our TeachHoops member calls, this is the most powerful internal motivator in sports. Unlike "external" rewards (trophies, sneakers, social media clout), the chip is internal and renewable. It's what allowed players like Steph Curry or Draymond Green to transform from "undersized prospects" into Hall of Fame legends. Not every player arrives at your gym with a natural chip on their shoulder. Sometimes, as a coach, you have to be the one to "Manufacture the Disrespect." This doesn't mean being a "jerk"; it means highlighting the reality of the landscape. Show them the preseason rankings where they are picked to finish 5th. Point out the "All-Conference" lists they were left off of. By acting as the "Chief Filter Officer," you help your players notice the "Red Cars" of external doubt, turning that collective energy into a "We Against the World" program identity. The biggest mistake a young player makes is confusing "playing with a chip" with "playing angry." Anger is chaotic; it leads to reaching on defense, forced shots, and losing focus on the scouting report. A "Chip" is calculated. It's the player who is so insulted by an opponent's lack of effort that they decide to physically dominate them within the rules of the system. We want "Quiet Intensity"—the player who doesn't say a word to the trash-talking opponent because they are too busy "out-executing" them. Send us Fan MailDisrespect can show up in a thousand tiny ways a blunt “you're not very smart, are you?” a dismissive “I know” a joke that lands like a punch. We wanted to get past the lectures and punishments and talk about what actually builds respect inside a child's brain over time. we talk about what respect is, what it is not, and why the hardest moments are often the most teachable. We break respect into two clear categories: the respect tied to positional authority and the respect every person deserves because of basic human dignity. From there, we dig into a common parenting trap: expecting respect as the foundation instead of treating relationship as the foundation. We connect the dots to attachment and trust, why classrooms can be tough places for respect, and why teenagers are wired to push for independence. If you've ever felt pulled into a power struggle, you'll hear practical language that keeps correction focused on behavior rather than attacking the child. One of the biggest takeaways is the “emotional piggy bank” model: connection and meeting needs create deposits, while redirections create withdrawals. When the account is empty, disrespect comes fast. We also talk about self-respect versus entitlement, how sports can teach empathy, and how social media and “kid content” can quietly train kids to mock adults. If you want brain-based parenting strategies to teach respect, handle disrespect, and stay regulated under pressure, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more families can find the show.Contact:podcasts@calfarley.org To Donate: https://secure.calfarley.org/site/Donation2?3358.donation=form1&df_id=3358&mfc_pref=TTo Apply:https://apply.workable.com/cal-farleys-boys-ranch/j/25E1226091/For More Information about Cal Farley's Boys Ranch:https://www.calfarley.org/Music:"Shine" -NewsboysCCS License No. 9402

Luke's girlfriend Rachel returns. Meanwhile, Rory tries to win Dean back. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 1 EPISODE 21) May 10, 2001 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 1 EPISODE 21) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN'S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 1 EPISODE 21) SYNOPSIS The episode kicks off with Luke coming over to fix Lorelai's railing...at 6:30a. She's not thrilled. Rory's not thrilled. THE DISRESPECT! Rory finds the Dean box in the closet. Lorelai explains why she kept it and she thanks her, takes the box into her room to look through all the stuff. Later, when hanging out with Lane, she decides to go into the market to talk to Dean. When she walks in, she's shocked to find out that Dean isn't there. He should be there! At school, Tristan asks Rory out on a date to a concert. She says we can't date. Womp womp. Rachel asks Lorelai if she knows where Luke is. He's not really been around. Lorelai goes to talk to Luke and he's like I'm freaking out man. She's always around. I'm a loner. Uh oh. Rory goes to Dean's house to go see if he's there. His little sister opens the door and Rory makes her cry. It's time for family date night with Max Medina and it's a big one - they take her to a town hall meeting. Serious stuff is on the docket - like why there's more than 1 town troubadour. Rory stands up and says that he should be able to sing his songs because it's how you express your feelings! Paris gets mad at Rory because she heard from Tristan that Rory is going to a concert. Rachel breaks up with Luke because she can tell that he has feelings for Lorelai. He's like I don't know what you're talking about but then promptly goes to talk to Lorelai, but Max is there. This turns into a whole thing. After Luke leaves, they argue which leads to Max proposing. Meanwhile, at Chilton, Tristan tries to convince Rory to go to the concert by taking her books and refusing to give them back until she says yes. Dean shows up and sees him holding the books and assumes they're a thing. Rory convinces him that they're nothing by telling him that she loves him! And they kiss BIG ONESSSS! The next day at work, Lorelai walks in to 1000 daisies. She calls Max and he says I want to marry you. Think about it. Episode ends with Rory and Lorelai running to each other and jumping and screaming. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? On today's episode, investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell share updates in their ongoing caseload, including the John-Paul Miller trial, the latest on thrice-accused rapist Bowen Turner, Bradley Williams' attempt at getting the judge to change his mind on Stand Your Ground immunity and Horry County Police Department's horrible treatment of Scott Spivey's family. Nearly two years to the date of Mica Francis' strange death in a remote North Carolina swamp, her estranged husband — now remarried to his former mistress — is expected to be in federal court where his trial is set to begin with jury selection on April 21 for a cyberstalking charge related to Mica's death. Also today's episode marks True Sunlight's annual “Bowen Turner is getting released from prison again (again again AGAIN)” update. Will this time stick? Plus Scott Spivey co-killer Bradley Williams shifts his argument slightly while standing firmly in Weldon's footprints as he once again seeks the court's sympathy as “Weldon's passenger.” And finally, recordings of Horry County Police Detective Alan Jones show the level of contempt he had for the Spivey family as they sought answers in Scott's death. Let's Dive in…
