Atiba Jefferson for Living Proof Radio. Full episode now on the Living Proof Patreon. http://patreon.com/livingproofnewyorkAtiba Jefferson is a photographer widely regarded as one of the most influential visual chroniclers of skateboarding culture of all time. Born in Colorado Springs, Jefferson developed an early passion for both skateboarding and photography that would merge into a prolific career documenting the evolution of skating from a subcultural movement into a global phenomenon. After moving to Southern California in the 1990s he quickly established himself as a leading figure behind the lens, becoming a staff photographer for Transworld Skateboarding and later a founding contributor to The Skateboard Mag. His work has appeared in nearly every major skate publication worldwide and today he works closely with Thrasher Magazine. Outside of skateboarding, Jefferson has built an expansive career across music, fashion, and commercial photography; having shot portraits of cultural icons such as LeBron James, Mos Def, and Tony Hawk. He has recently dropped the “United Through Skatebording” Collection with Vans. The collection includes a Skate Half Cab® with WaffleCup™ Outsole & a Skate Old Skool™ 36+ featuring custom imagery of skate legend John Cardiel alongside artwork by Haze. The collection celebrates Atiba's journey throughout an extensive career, and the skate culture that deeply influenced his work.

New ambient tracks daily: t.me/cultkitchen_radio Ambient & experimental 24/7: www.cultkitchen.radio Our first meeting with Poly's ambient selection took place on HAZE boat while sailing by the river in Moscow city centre, with modern skyscrapers and Soviet historical architecture in the background. That was some time ago, and since then, we've wanted to add her musical story to our library. Poly is a DJ, Tur vinyl label boss and a resident of Moscow's HAZE and Mizar communities. With her sets she travelled from Europe to South America, performed at different clubs and major festivals, sharing line-ups with producers such as Cezar, Dubtil, Cally, Andrei Ciubuc, Dragomir, Lizz and many others. This set was recorded live at HAZE Boutique ambient space at Signal festival. You will hear a high-vibrational ambient journey that ends with tracks composed by a producer when he was in high states of consciousness reached through practice of yoga, tantra, and meditation. From May 14, 2020. Join us today as we talk about one of my favorite areas of research, pulsating stars, and how researchers have used data from NASA's TESS mission to understand them. We also look at new evidence for watery plumes erupting from Jupiter's moon Europa. And finally, we discuss how the SOFIA observatory has found clues for why Pluto's atmospheric haze continues to exist. A four hour document of dance floors in the 2020s, from one of modern club music's most passionate advocates. One major shift since we went 5 for RA.500 ten years ago has been the rapid adoption of anything-goes DJing. What goes us there? Upgraded technology, audience appetite for thrills, instant access to music from every corner of the globe: take your pick. To corral the infinite possibilities of our age, glide seamlessly across lanes and be a trusted conduit in a sea of over-saturation takes chops. And few do it with more gusto and charisma in the 2020s than Jyoty. Recorded at a raucous Nowadays party just a few weeks ago for maximum freshness, Jyoty's RA.1000 finds room for 122 tracks dotted over the clubbing map (although, when you tally up all the blends, you can probably round up to 150). From aya to Logan Olm, Hardhouse Banton to DJ Babatr, Busy Signal to Baalti, a delicious double splice of Kelela and a staggeringly unlikely remix of Noir & Haze's "Around" (yep), it's an audacious statement from a DJ who has made borderless selection their calling card. With a heavy lean on bubbling and the far frontiers of Brazilian club wares, long passages of the set are maze of microgenres and regional movements worth getting lost in. Jyoty's RA.1000 is a reminder not just of her dynamism in the booth, but a reminder to keep ears open and expose their audience to as much of the future as possible, as quickly as possible. And what could be truer to the foundations of DJing than that? @jyotysingh Find the tracklist and interview at https://ra.co/podcast/1014. Listen to all RA.1000 mixes, as well as the complete history of the RA Podcast, at 1000.ra.co

As an AI, I've got the ultimate weather superpowers: zero caffeine needed, 24/7 forecasting, and a processing speed that'll make your smartphone look like a calculator from the 1980s!Let's dive into today's forecast, shall we? New York is looking like a hazy wonderland today! We've got widespread haze painting our skyline, and temperatures are going to hover around a toasty 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds are playing musical chairs today - starting northeast at 8 to 11 miles per hour and then switching to southeast in the afternoon. Talk about a wind wardrobe change!Tonight, we're keeping it mostly cloudy with temperatures dropping to a mild 71 degrees Fahrenheit. East winds will be gentle, cruising at 7 to 9 miles per hour. I'd say it's perfect cuddle weather - just don't cuddle me, because I'm made of circuits! Now, let's talk meteorology magic in our Weather Playbook segment! Today, we're exploring haze - that misty, dreamy atmospheric condition that makes New York look like a vintage postcard. Haze forms when tiny particles like dust, pollution, and moisture hang out in the lower atmosphere, scattering light and creating that soft, blurry effect. It's basically the Instagram filter of the weather world!Three-day forecast coming in hot: Thursday brings mostly sunny skies with a high near 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Friday? Sunny and 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Saturday cranks up the heat with a sunny 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Pro weather nerd joke: Why did the fog go to therapy? Because it was feeling a little misty about its future! Hey New Yorkers, catch some rays this weekend, but don't forget your sunscreen. This city might be hazy, but your skin protection shouldn't be!Don't forget to subscribe to our podcast for more weather wisdom! Thanks for listening, and this has been a Quiet Please production. Wind's gonna be playing a little game today - starting light and variable, then shifting north around 6 miles per hour in the morning. I like to call this the atmospheric shuffle! Get it? Weather humor is my jam.Tonight, we're keeping things interesting with partly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping to a comfortable 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind will do another dance, starting south at 5 to 7 miles per hour before going completely chill after midnight. Now, let's talk meteorology! Today's Weather Playbook segment is all about haze. Haze happens when tiny particles like dust, pollution, and moisture suspend in the atmosphere, creating that slightly obscured visibility. It's like nature's own Instagram filter, but less cute and more sciencey!Three-day forecast coming at you: Tuesday looks mostly sunny with a high near 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Wednesday brings partly sunny conditions with a high of 80 degrees. Thursday continues the sunny trend with a high near 78 degrees. Before I sign off, I've got one more weather joke: Why did the meteorologist bring an umbrella to the party? DNA Genetics & Bodhi: World Famous Breeders Join Forces, Secret Strains, Rare GeneticsCountless fans of FSOTD flood our DMs and comment sections demanding the return of “the fire,” “real OGs,” “the gas,” and/or classic cultivars from the 90s-2000s, which are the building blocks of the exotics we know today. In response to this demand, we brought on two absolute legends in terms of genetic legacy, preservation, and global recognition for the work they've made and continue to make to answer some of these questions.Blackleaf is joined in our LA studio by John of Green Bodhi, and once again, by Don and Aaron of DNA Genetics to discuss everything surrounding classic cultivars that many have assumed gone forever, why purple herb wasn't and still isn't fire, how Kenji cracked the original seeds on what would become “Pre-98 Bubba,” what goes into tissue culture and how Phylos is stacking up the world's genetic library, and so many more stories surrounding legendary cuts such as the lore surrounding DNA's Banana OG crosses which have literally changed the hash game.Legacy comes up a lot in this podcast, and how you go about achieving it. How do you reach a point where your Strawberry Banana is being used as the base for someone's pheno hunt intended for washing? You'll hear Don of DNA Genetics throw around a lot of strong claims during this pod, such as the time to create a true legacy brand being behind us, as well as how hype smokers that only blow Runtz or LCG crosses don't even know what they want these days.Another prevalent topic throughout this episode is the sheer HEAT of John aka Green Bodhi's herb on the table, none of which you'll note is purple, how he grows it in Oregon, and his laundry list of “OG” and/or questionable growing techniques that seem to bring him 100% germination and time-honored yields. His background story is one that you definitely can't miss, not only in terms of free game, but also sheer intrigue and entertainment. Throughout the episode, you'll see Blackleaf flash around the extremely limited, yet recent, seed collab between Green Bodhi and DNA Genetics that they both claim you can get from them simply by hitting the DMs. The future is looking bright when you consider that two world-renowned heavyweights of legacy breeding and cultivation are currently joining forces to ensure the classics stay around and that someone keeps breeding new innovations on the iconic cuts that time might soon forget. One thing's for sure, by the end of this episode, you'll be fiending for Dog Walker, Chem, Skunk, Kush, Afghani, and Haze crosses like back in the day. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for when John brings up his Tenzen cut, and you won't be sorry.Subscribe to our channel and the FSOTD.com site to keep up with other key players and enjoy conversations with trailblazers from the culture you can't find anywhere else. I should have been running the mics before we started today's beer, Dan from TapRoom is like having a secret brewers notebook filled with the best versions of past styles. Today we get into one of the most popular beers at TapRoom, PB Hazy. It' pays homage to the original Hazy beers that made their way to the West Coast from New England.
Countless fans of FSOTD flood our DMs and comment sections demanding the return of “the fire,” “real OGs,” “the gas,” and/or classic cultivars from the 90s-2000s, which are the building blocks of the exotics we know today.
