My two cents on this awkward and cringe-worthy segment of Genesis 19:30-38.
For the 50th episode of the JewishDrinking.com video and podcast show, Aliza Lipkin joins with host Rabbi Drew Kaplan to discuss Lot, Lot's daughters, and wine.
Lot's Daughters and Abraham both take matters into their own hands, but God still redeems their situations. Sometimes our emotions cloud our thoughts and actions. Our job is just to do what is right and trust God with the outcome. Do not take matters into our own hands. He is able to protect us and provide for us. Also if we hurt someone purposefully or even accidentally or unintentionally, it is still our responsibility to reconcile the situation.

It is clear to me that this is not presented as commendable, but why is it included?" My blog for my podcasts and videos is found here: https://adversariapodcast.com/. Continuing the Journey of Abraham in Genesis 19. In this our 34th part of the series Lot has fled Sodom, and his daughter act out of their fear. The challenge to the believer is to act out of faith in the unknown, contrasting Lot's daughters.

According to Genesis 19, Lot had two daughters who are never named and who got up to some shenanigans after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. This is their story -- and the story of how they made names for themselves.
In our current What in the World Part 2 series, we are answering questions you had asked us at the end of last year. Sometimes, when we read the scriptures, there are questions about the text that we don’t know how to ask (or maybe verbalize); this series was a way to try to answer some of those lingering questions. It seems the questions that many have about the scriptures come from personal experience and pain. Here is this week’s question: “What is the deal with Lot’s daughter sleeping with him? As an abused daughter, I wonder why God would allow that in the bible. Nothing else is said, like it is no big deal. This gives weak minded fathers the ability to think it is OK?” First, the bible nowhere condones this type of behavior, the story is recounted in the Scriptures for a purpose. Second, it is a good question because our present understanding of these ancient narratives will affect how we live out the good news of what Jesus came to do in our lives.
Brother Mikey shares another spirit-filled story of inspiration from the scriptures. Genesis 19: 30-38
On this episode of EMG Radio we kick off 2014 in laid back, chilled out fashion. Randy hosts the most relaxed episode of the podcast to date keeping the chatter to a minimum and letting the music do the talking. Short yet sweet and filled to the brim with fantastic music. Enjoy...As usual, this podcast contains strong language. Though, not AS MUCH as usual."Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent." - Victor Hugo[Contains strong language! NSFW]---->DOWNLOAD MP3 HERE
Why did Lot offer up his daughters to be gang raped? Why did God allow Lot's daughters to later have sex with their father?
Lot, defined as a righteous man by the Word, offers his daughters to a mob outside of his home in order to seemingly protect two strangers. The skeptic quickly points out how this is unethical, thus concluding that Yahweh's definition of righteousness is clearly not moral. Perhaps there is something the skeptic, and actually many believers, are missing in their understanding...
