"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna!" These words are spoken every Palm Sunday in almost every church in the world, marking the beginning of Holy Week, the week leading up to the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. But what did they mean to those who spoke them, and what expectations were fueling their expression? Did Jesus meet those expectations, and if he didn't, what did that mean for humanity? This Sunday we will be looking at this and more as we look at the story from the perspective of Mark in chapter 11 verses 1-11.
