It's Saturday Morning, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' season opener, Friday's matchup against the Canucks, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about why the NHL doesn't have any games scheduled on the first Friday of the schedule. While this delicious debate was mostly to annoy Liam, it did give him the opportunity to rant about his hatred of the schedule. As for the real delicious debate, Tyler wanted to know what everyone's take was on Stuart Skinner's season opener after the Oilers' goaltender finds himself back in the crosshairs after a tough finish against the Flames.Changing gears, the guys discussed everything that's happened over the last few days, starting with Mattias Ekholm's three-year contract extension. Despite everyone being excited that Big Viking Daddy is sticking around, they did have a healthy conversation about whether the term for someone his age is too long or not. They also discussed the other extensions that have happened around the league this week, and whether Bill Guerin looks at some of those deals and regrets the big ticket for Kirill Kaprizov. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. With the start of the 2025-26 season under way, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode discussing a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's what happens at this stage of the new year. It's been a busy week around here, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to hit your ear holes with another dose of Oilers adjacent shenanigans. On today's podcast, I talked about Ryder and Lisa's show announcement that will be coming to ON in November, the Oilers' season opener, and a handful of contract extensions that locked in key pieces on the roster. Between the nostalgia, excitement, and chaos, it's been one of those weeks that makes you realize how deeply this city lives and breathes both its media and its hockey team. With the 2025–26 campaign officially underway, there's no shortage of storylines to dive into. From roster chemistry to expectations for opening night, I went through it all. Needless to say, there's plenty to celebrate, plenty to debate, and a whole lot to be excited about as the Oilers get back to business. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and the messages were as varied as they were entertaining. The voicemail is always a fun way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode, because having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and is ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Jay's trip to London, the Oilers' season opener loss, the Blue Jays beating the Yankees, beefs of the week, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a quick recap of Jay's trip to the UK for the Browns game, covering what he got up to despite being away for only 96 hours. From trying haggis for the first time to dabbling with local beers to watching the NFL in a soccer stadium, Jay got a lot of life done in a very short amount of time. From there, the discussion shifted to the Oilers' season opener, which was an incredibly frustrating result given how well the boys started the game. Starting with a look at the new guys, Chalmers admitted that he didn't know who some of the new guys were, which led to the boys dunking on him repeatedly. Despite hearing many of these names multiple times, Finally, the guys walked through a new segment called Beef of the Week where the boys vented their frustrations with some news stories from the past week. Whether it's pop culture, the Oilers not acknowledging the Western Conference Champions banner, to the Blue Jays beating the Yankees in their first-ever playoff matchup, the end of this week's podcast was all over the map. On today's episode of 2 Guys & A Goalie, the boys break down last night's season opener that saw the Edmonton Oilers blow a 3–0 lead and fall to the Calgary Flames 4–3 in a shootout. The Edmonton Oilers collapse to the hands of the Calgary Flames in the Home Opener of the 2025-26 season. Tom Gazzola, Matt Kassian, Reid Wilkins and Ben Thomson breakdown the game for you. What was Skinner doing on the 3rd goal? Tomasek getting a bigger role? Lot's of questions that get answered for you. The Oilers come out hot with a 3-0 lead before letting the momentum change in Calgary's favour with bad turnovers and lazy penalties. The game ends in a 9 round shootout with Kadri putting it away for the Flames. We hear from Stuart Skinner about his performance and Stan Bowman on the Jack Roslovic signing.
TSN Hockey Insiders Darren Dreger and Chris Johnston joined OverDrive to discuss Kyle Connor's contract extension with the Jets, the Maple Leafs' matchup against the Canadiens and Easton Cowan not playing in the season opener, Lane Hutson's contract expectations, Mattias Ekholm's deal with the Oilers, Connor McDavid's contract ripple effects, the Maple Leafs' season overview and more.
It's Tuesday afternoon and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the NHL regular season is just around the corner because we're back to two podcasts per week. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Connor McDavid's extension, Jake Walman's seven-year deal, season predictions, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not popping the champagne for Connor McDavid's contract extension on Oilersnation Everyday was an acceptable reaction or not. For Rick, popping champagne was a little bit too much, even though a celebration for the event was absolutely merited. As for the real delicious debate, the boys discussed whether the Oilers got enough from the McDavid extension by only adding two more years to his deal. Changing gears, the guys walked through the big news announcements from yesterday, including the Connor McDavid extension, Jake Walman extension, and the Ryder and Lisa announcement. Needless to say, it was a very busy Monday around Nation HQ and a day no one will ever forget. Needless to say, the boys had plenty to say about the McDavid and Walman extensions, including a look at why the latter was worth such a massive extension in the first place. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with our season predictions ahead of the 2025-26 NHL season, including some goal totals, head-to-heads, and anything else we could think about ahead of Wednesday's start to the season. From goals predictions for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to whether Andrew Mangiapane can outscore the players he replaced, the end of the first Tuesday episode of ONR was as fun as it was all over the map.
