To kick off, we begin with a discussion of his latest gig, touring with Bonnie Raitt. Via the new gig, he has had his first experience with using in-ear monitors and having amps off-stage. We also cover his early gigs with Jonatha Brooke & The Story, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and how he got a record deal in the early 90s. Levine also talks about the eternal tone hunt, covering his move away from using compressor pedals to replacing them with low-gain overdrive pedals. Though he loved music and played frequent gigs, he did not study it in college, yet post-graduation, he decided to throw in his lot with a friend that moved to Nashville in the early 80s. With luck on his side, he fairly quickly hit the scene in a big way in 1985 by landing the lead guitar spot with the then-new artist, Patty Loveless. Jeff was soon riding the wave of success with Patty who was busy sending singles up the charts and wowing crowds and critics with her soulful Kentucky sound. After decades of studio work, he was asked by one of his clients, Reba McIntire, to go out on the road with her, which lead to him also performing road dates with Brooks & Dunn. Jeff now tours with two legendary Country Music acts, and because of their less strenuous touring, he is able to keep his studio work thriving. On the gear front, King tells the backstory of his main guitar, a 1985 G-Bender equipped Glaser Tele-Style that is on its second neck. (Kalilo - Song Writer)   In this episode, I had the honour of having Edward as my guest. He shared with me his interest in being song writer as his hobby.   Definition: A songwriter is a musician who professionally composes musical compositions or writes lyrics for songs, or both. The writer of the music for a song can be called a composer, although this term tends to be used mainly in the classical music genre and film scoring. A songwriter who mainly writes the lyrics for a song is referred to as a lyricist. The pressure from the music industry to produce popular hits means that song writing is often an activity for which the tasks are distributed among a number of people. For example, a songwriter who excels at writing lyrics might be paired with a songwriter with the task of creating original melodies. Pop songs may be composed by group members from the band or by staff writers – songwriters directly employed by music publishers. Some songwriters serve as their own music publishers, while others have external publishers. Wikipedia contributors. (2023, August 19). Songwriter. In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Via his thorough research and analysis of working and broken vintage pickups, he discovered both the recipe and the proper ingredients to replicate various eras of holy-grail winds. Soon, he was breaking those rules to create modern interpretations to meet the very specific tonal demands of virtuoso players such as Julian Lage, Brad Paisley, and Josh Smith. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/oscar6884/message

Easton also thoroughly contrasts the producing styles of Roy Thomas Baker (Queen) and Mutt Lang (Def Leppard, AC/DC) on the various Car's albums and the hard work, and eye for detail that both producers shared. He also discusses his involvement with Gibson, Kramer signature models, and his custom orders with John Page that influenced the creation of the Fender Custom Shop in 1985. Those not familiar with him should know that Flacke's influence runs deep on just about any player willing to pick up a Tele and play with gusto. After his stint with Ricky, he moved on to session work, and a return to touring with Marty Stuart in the early 90s, and the Jamie Hartford Band in the late 90s to early 2000s. We are finally out land of 16GB Devices. The iPhone SE comes with 32GB. Finally a new iPad - be it a bit of a ‘curate's egg'. The Product(RED) iPhone makes an appearance and we make time to ponder the meaning (or otherwise) of a slightly unusual Apple Patent. This and other episodes are available at iTunes | Opinion| Overcast | Google Play |** Direct Download | RSS | FireSide.fm | PineCast On this week's show: iPad 2017 v iPad Air 2 notes. iPad (2017) is notably thicker and heavier than the 2014-released iPad Air 2 and (2016) iPad Pro 9.7 Dual external speakers rather than the powerful quad arrangement seen in the iPad Pro models. All displays look identical but with the new iPad Apple has removed the anti-reflective display coating and fallen back from the display actually laminated onto the back of the glass as seen more recently. Also this modelHas no TrueTone and doesn't have the newest wider gamut screen. iPad 9.7 (2017): Apple A9 with dual-core 1.84 GHz (Twister) CPU and PowerVR GT7600 (six-core) GPU, 2GB of RAM- The A9 is what you get in a iPhone 6s and 6s Interestingly the iPad Air 2 has a Tri-core which is slower at 1.5GHz there is some talk that it's actually faster overall. Camera details: Same camera optics as the iPhone 5s! 8MP, ƒ/2.4 aperture, 1080p video, no OIS. Front: 1.2MP, f2.2 aperture, 720p video, no OIS iPhone Product (RED) Looks so much better with a black front facia. It's easy to accomplish this with a simple glass screen protector. Out of all the models this would be the one I'd go for. iPad Mini Didnt get any upgrades but still at $399 more expensive that the one they just introduced. Seemingly complacent about flogging old tech. Are we seeeing Tim Cooking the books a touch too much (Mac Pro) Nemo's Hardware Store: Clloclip CORE LENS SET for iPhone 7 & 7 Plus: Black Lens/Black Clip - amazon Twelve South Journal iPhone Case amazon More Talky Stuff. Apple Files Patent For iPhone To MacBook Laptop Dock Design - USPTO Thoughts on this. A nice enough idea but could eat into the iPad market. What would happen each design refresh? Would you have to get a new docking station? Would it just be a screen powered by an iPhone? You'd probably not want to use the iPhone as a trackpad. Is this the ARM laptop? Is Apple aiming to make iOS the consumer choice and macOS the “pro level” one (even if we can't define what “pro”even means). This week's “App-session” [obsession.. geddit?] SnapSeed – the free iOS photo editor had some nifty new tools added. Nemo's all time favorite just got better :D (Not actually mentioned on the show).
