I hope you’re ready for another great double-header week! In Episode 407, everything starts with Trey Walker from Last Stop, a book that is making the jump from webcomic to Nonstop at Scout Comics! The first issue is coming later this month, with the collected edition following in February of 2020! It’s a superhero story that is unlike anything else I’ve read before! Then this episode wraps up with my conversation with Martin Pierro from Cosmic Times, a great Florida-based comics company that is supporting a fascinating book called From Blood, which you can support on Kickstarter. It’s packed full of action and adventure, a fast-moving tale with engaging characters. The Kickstarter runs until November 19, 2019. Martin always has terrific insights into the comics industry, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy what he has to say!
Martin Pierro is owner/publisher/author of Cosmic Times, the largest independent comic book publisher in the southeastern United States. His love for comics and a desire to tell stories prompted him to start Cosmic Times in 2008. http://cosmictimes.net
Earlier this year, I (CT) produced a video showcasing Infinity Con Tallahassee. It was a fun video and I got a chance to meet and talk with David Herringer as a part of that. Well, David has been connecting a lot of different individuals and creative outlets in the state of Florida and connected me with the folks at Cosmic Times Comics with operates out of Florida. Martin Pierro is the publisher of Cosmic Times Comics and I had the opportunity to chat with him about the history of comics, including his stint running a fanzine, and we talk about where things are heading in the industry. Cosmic Times is currently running a Kickstarter. Check out CosmicTimes.net for more information about that and everything else they have going on.
