Travis Cooper gives a monologue about his experience with Glenn Pendlay on the one year anniversary of Glenn's passing.
Jared Fleming was the number 2 ranked weightlifter in the USA heading towards the Olympic trials in 2016, but at the World Championships in 2015 Jared suffered a career ending injury. This podcast goes deep into Jared's grieving process as he had to discover a different version of himself. We kick off the show however by talking about Jared's athletic career, how he went from a 163 snatch to an American Record snatch nearly 10kg more in just under 2 years, and the differences in training at LSUS and MDUSA.

From June 2012 to March 2016, Glenn Pendlay assembled a group of lifters with some of the best potential in the country, and they trained full-time. It was an interesting experiment that changed the way elite-level lifters train and live today. We're talking with some of the team, including 2016 Olympian Morghan King, World Team member and multiple-time National Champ James Tatum, along with various national-level medalists Kaleb Whitby, Tayler Harris, Sean Rigsby, Mike Szela, and your host, Tom Sroka. The gang relives their favorite memories, talks about the best and worst things to come out of their days at MuscleDriverUSA, what their plans are for the next quad, and the injuries and impact of full-time training. Don't miss the lightning round, where you won't stop laughing at the gang's antics. Plus, on the top of the show, Tom talks about the BEST barbell club in US history, York Barbell -- the team that launched the "professional" lifting movement. During Kevin and Glenn's first reunion since Kevin left MDUSA several years ago we spoke about Kevin's comeback to the sport of weightlifting. Glenn ended up going straight SAVAGE about Kevin's diet as an athlete, but also spoke about his great characteristics. Most interestingly to me they spoke about the differences in training between Cal Strength and MDUSA as well as the decline of MDUSA and what happened when Glenn left Cal Strength. All in all this first half of the interview was extremely interesting, and I did my best to just let Glenn and Kevin catch up organically without too many of my fan questions! The second part will be up on Friday.
