Show Summary:    Mudita Khurana — Tech Lead at Airbnb and the person who always says, “I got this” No Password Required Season 7: Episode 6 - Mudita Khurana   Mudita Khurana is a Tech Lead for Automated Tooling and Vulnerability Management at Airbnb, where she focuses on building modular, scalable security systems in an era of rapidly evolving AI threats. Before Airbnb, she spent nearly a decade in security roles across Accenture, Meta, and PwC, making bold career pivots along the way, including turning down a PwC return offer to join Facebook's product security team. In this episode, Mudita shares her journey from a family of doctors in India to Carnegie Mellon and into the heart of Big Tech security. She discusses what it means to thrive as a non-traditional engineer in a deeply technical field, why she stepped back from management to get closer to the work, and how she thinks about building security tooling that won't be obsolete in three months. Jack Clabby and co-host Kayley Melton, recording live from Tampa B-Sides at the University of South Florida, talk with Mudita about imposter syndrome, AI's curveballs for security teams, leadership without a leadership title, and the importance of community in staying on top of a field that never stops moving. She also reflects on what great mentorship looks like early in a career and why clarity, ownership, and consistency are the leadership qualities she keeps coming back to. In the Lifestyle Polygraph, Mudita firmly plants her flag in the Harry Potter universe as Hermione, explains why Deadpool doesn't qualify as a superhero, debates gym vs. nature as a reset strategy, and reveals her dream remote work base: a high-altitude Buddhist mountain town in the Himalayas.   Follow Mudita on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/muditakhurana/     In this episode: Mudita shares her unconventional path into cybersecurity, highlighting the importance of mentorship and curiosity (0:25 - 1:37) The significance of mentorship, especially Vandana Verma, in her career development (2:26 - 4:00) Transition from management to technical IC roles and why staying close to technical work matters (9:29 - 10:23) The influence of her education at Carnegie Mellon and how it broadened her problem-solving skills (6:23 - 7:41) Navigating imposter syndrome and embracing challenges as growth opportunities (3:26 - 5:29) How AI is changing cybersecurity strategies—building modular, layered systems for agility (15:31 - 16:26) The importance of community, trust, and consensus in cybersecurity decision-making (17:06 - 17:47) Mudita's favorite places for remote work and balancing planning with spontaneity in travel (23:01 - 24:13) Her personal approach to wellness, exercise, and resets during busy days (21:32 - 22:36) Her unique perspective on superhero characters, favorite places, and cultural roots (18:54 - 19:36, 25:19 - 26:21) Timestamp Highlights: (00:25) Mudita's 10-year journey into cybersecurity starting from India (02:26) Mentorship's critical role in her growth and her admiration for Vandana Verma (09:29) Transition from management back to technical roles and why staying close to the work matters (15:31) How AI fosters layered, modular security systems for faster adaptation (17:06) The importance of community and trusted information sources in security (21:32) Reset routines—gym versus nature hikes—and staying grounded during busy days (25:19) Leh, Ladakh: Mudita's ideal remote work location nestled in Himalayan beauty Resources & Links: Vandana Verma - Influential mentor in cybersecurity ThreatLocker - Supporter of this podcast Cyber Florida – The Mother Ship

Five Weight Loss Strategies, Dementia Risks & Weight Lifting for Your Lungs

Vitality Explorer News Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 4, 2026 21:19

AI Agents vs Human Intuition PodcastFIVE PRIMARY POINTS of the PODCAST1. Start with the “Why” Behind Your WeightSuccessful weight management begins with a clear purpose. Whether the goal is to improve health, prevent disease, increase longevity, or feel better physically and mentally, a strong personal reason creates the motivation needed to stay committed when challenges arise.2. Five Drug-Free Strategies Can Help Optimize WeightThe podcast highlights five evidence-based approaches to weight management: intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating, resistance training, a high-protein diet, optimizing sleep, and improving gut microbiome health. The key is selecting the strategy that best matches your personality, lifestyle, and long-term goals.3. Weight Stability Matters as Much as Weight LossLarge fluctuations in body weight may increase dementia risk by as much as 36%. Repeated cycles of weight loss and regain create metabolic stress, while abdominal fat and expanding waist circumference are strongly linked to cognitive decline. The goal is not simply to lose weight but to achieve and maintain a healthy, stable weight.4. Brain Health, Heart Health, and Weight Are Deeply ConnectedObesity, cardiovascular disease, and dementia are closely intertwined. Conditions such as coronary artery disease, stroke, and atrial fibrillation significantly increase dementia risk, particularly when combined with obesity. Maintaining a healthy weight is therefore an investment in both physical vitality and long-term brain function.5. Train Your Lungs Like You Train Your MusclesLung function is an overlooked pillar of vitality. Low blood oxygen saturation is strongly associated with increased mortality risk. Regular deep-breathing exercises and inspiratory muscle training can improve oxygenation, lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and potentially enhance longevity. The podcast frames this as “weightlifting for your lungs” and encourages making breathing exercises a daily habit.Copyright, VyVerse, LLC. All Rights Reserved. This is a public episode. In this solo mini episode, I talk about creatine. What it is, who may benefit from taking it, if vegans are deficient, and the emerging research on brain health, mood, and cognition for women in perimenopause and menopause. This mini solo episode covers: What creatine is and how your body already makes it (and why that matters for how we talk about it) Why vegans and vegetarians have measurably lower creatine levels and if that even matters How creatine went from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics to becoming one of the most studied supplements in nutritional science The numbers: how much non-vegans get from food versus what a supplement provides The 2025 CONCRET-MENOPA randomised controlled trial and what it found for perimenopausal and menopausal women Who has a strong case for supplementing, who doesn't need to worry, and how to think about it for yourself Whether you lift weights, you're navigating perimenopause, or you're just curious about a supplement that keeps coming up, this episode gives you the full picture without the hype. What if one of the roots of Freemasonry was not a temple, a crusade, or a secret society — but a system of builders, craftsmen, associations, and disciplined men holding civilization together? In this episode of Masonic Muscle: The Origin War, we enter Theory #6 from Brother Kenneth Mackenzie's Royal Masonic Cyclopaedia: the theory that Freemasonry may have descended from the Roman Collegia of Artificers. The Roman Collegia were associations of workers, builders, craftsmen, tradesmen, and religious-social groups in the Roman world. Some built. Some buried their dead. Some gathered under patronage. Some preserved identity, ritual, fellowship, and mutual aid in a massive empire that needed organization to survive. But here is the hard question:Did Freemasonry actually descend from the Roman Collegia — or are we looking at another powerful resemblance without proof of direct transmission? This episode asks:What kind of organization do men build when civilization becomes too heavy for isolated individuals to carry alone? We examine:the Roman Collegia theory of Masonic originsbuilders, craftsmen, and organized labor in Romemutual aid, burial clubs, religious association, and identityRoman civilization, law, order, and structurethe problem of direct continuitythe difference between resemblance and proofwhy later guilds may echo older associative formshow Freemasonry may be a convergence system, not a simple descendantwhat modern lodges can learn from the Collegiawhy strong civilizations require disciplined men and durable institutionsThen we bring it back to Masonic Muscle.Freemasonry gives men tools to build better lives.Weightlifting gives men tools to build stronger bodies. Both require structure, discipline, repetition, and effort. The Roman Collegia remind us that no serious civilization is built by isolated men doing random work. Men need order. Men need association. Men need standards. Men need shared purpose. And so does your lodge.f Masonry is a progressive science, then why are we not progressing?Let us contemplate after lifting heavy weights.Write to me with your origin theories, old documents, questions, or research leads:masonicmuscle357@gmail.comFollow Masonic Muscle:Instagram: @masonicmuscleTikTok: @masonicmuscle357Facebook: Masonic MuscleWe give you more light — but no light weights.

Strength training is having a massive moment for women in midlife, but it comes with a silent side effect showing up in clinical offices: pelvic organ prolapse. In this "15-Minute Consult," Dr. Rachel Pope sits down with Dr. Jessica Jenkins, PT, DPT, ATC, to discuss how to protect your pelvic floor while lifting heavy, managing internal abdominal pressure, and keeping your organs exactly where they belong.Key Takeaways: Prolapse Isn't Just for Older Women: Heavy lifting can bring undetected pelvic organ prolapse to light even in young, active women in their 20s who have never given birth. The Danger of Holding Your Breath: Holding your breath or bearing down (Valsalva) during standard strength training acts exactly like straining on the toilet, sending massive downward pressure straight onto your bladder and uterus. The Golden Rule of Lifting: When the movement gets hard, breathe out. On the exertion phase (like pushing up from a squat), exhale, pull in your lower abs, and engage your pelvic floor (Kegel) to push the pressure upward. Listen to Your Body: Experiencing a distinct heaviness or a "tampon is stuck inside" sensation during or after a workout means the weight is too heavy, the pace is too fast, or your mechanics need a reassessment. Underutilized Support Tools: Pessaries (silicone support rings) can be worn strictly as "sports gear" to physically support tissues during workouts. Localized estrogen is also highly effective for restoring tissue extensibility before diving into core rehab. The Power of Hypopressives: This specialized vacuum-breathing technique creates negative pressure in the abdomen, involuntarily lifting the pelvic floor up and in to help train the abdominal wall to support internal organs.Quick Training Tips: Never hold your breath during the exertion or lifting portion of an exercise. Exhale and contract your pelvic floor as you lift to redirect internal pressure safely toward your diaphragm.About Guest Expert Dr. Jessica Jenkins:Dr. Jessica Jenkins is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Athletic Trainer, and the founder of the Cleveland Pelvic Wellness Center. Driven by her own experience navigating a pelvic floor injury as a competitive cross-country and track athlete, she blends sports medicine principles with specialized pelvic floor rehabilitation to help active individuals master core stability and pressure management.Connect & Resources: Learn More About Dr. Jenkins: Cleveland Pelvic Wellness Center Watch on YouTube: Our Womanity ChannelFree Resources: Get your free copies of: ➡️ The Proactive Perimenopause Guide➡️ "She's Just Under Construction" partner GuideDisclaimer: This podcast is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

In this episode of Tiny Show and Tell Us, we welcome our first‑ever guest, podcast producer and dinosaur enthusiast Steven Ray Morris. Together, we dive into three wildly different stories. First, we explore a major advancement in HIV prevention: a newly approved twice‑yearly injectable drug called Lenacapavir. We chat about how it works, why it's a huge shift from daily pills or monthly shots, and the challenges around global access. Next, Steven takes us deep into the (mostly chilly) past — to Antarctic dinosaurs! What scientists are learning about these dinos is shifting what we think we know about where, and how, dinosaurs lived. Finally, Deboki breaks down the science behind blood flow restriction therapy, a rehabilitation technique that helps injured muscles rebuild strength using lighter loads. As always, Tiny Matters is not giving anything that could be interpreted as medical advice! Deboki also reveals she's into weightlifting. So yeah, don't mess with Deboki! You can find Steven and See Jurassic Right lots of places! Including Instagram, Apple Podcasts, Patreon and Etsy.Check out Spirits here or wherever you get podcasts! We need your stories — they're what make these bonus episodes possible! If you still think weightlifting is just about aesthetics, this conversation will completely change the way you see your body and your future. In this episode, I sit down with a highly experienced physician assistant and longtime strength training expert to unpack what women have been getting wrong about fitness for decades, especially in perimenopause and beyond. We dive into the real role of muscle when it comes to metabolism, hormones, and longevity, and tackle the questions so many women are quietly asking. Is cardio enough? Will lifting weights make me bulky? Is it too late to start? We break through the noise and get honest about what actually matters if you want to feel strong, energized, and in control of your health as you age. We also get incredibly practical, walking through what effective weight training actually looks like for real women with busy lives. From how often you really need to lift, to why more workouts are not always better, to the growing concerns around GLP-1 medications and muscle loss, this episode connects the dots between modern trends and long-term consequences. If you have ever felt overwhelmed, confused, or stuck in an endless cycle of doing more but seeing less progress, this conversation will give you clarity, direction, and a whole new perspective on what your body truly needs. Topics We Cover in This Episode:  Why muscle might be the missing piece in your long-term health plan The surprising truth about cardio and why it may be holding you back What most women misunderstand about “toning” and body composition How little you actually need to do to start seeing real results The hidden risks behind popular weight loss medications What your future mobility, independence, and strength really depend on The mindset shift that changes everything when it comes to consistency Why doing more workouts could actually be working against you If this episode got you thinking differently about your health and your future, share it with a friend, subscribe so you never miss an episode, and take the next step toward building a stronger, more resilient body. Your future self will thank you. Resources & Links
