Leddy Hammock Inspired by lyrics by Megon McDonough in “I Am” (and based on Chapter 2 of Practical Metaphsics by Eric Butterworth: We are each, in potential, the I Am. That’s all we need to be. We are so much more than our body, more than our mind. What we are is the great I Am, before and after time. Here and now, we are each being healed, for the Great I Am lives in and through each of us, for that’s how it is revealed. We are discovering who we really are. We are so much more than our feelings, more than our fears. We have that voice within us with the answer, every day, and we hear it every time we get out of the way. Jesus is God’s Child and we are all God’s children. We are here to make a difference, to set and be set free. I Am and you are the I Am.
We all have gifts and we are accountable for how we use them. Jesus' parable of the talents teaches that those who use their gifts well will have abundance. Those who don't use their wealth well will lose what little they have. They may feel like they are suffering, but Ernest Holmes teaches that suffering is a result of not living according to the laws of the universe. It is a loving indicator that we are out of alignment with the truth of our being. The man in the parable who was foolish with money---who hid his gifts---went straight to making excuses and casting blame. That is not our truth. We have each been given gifts, and if we don't share them, we all lose. All of life, including money, is a gift from God, and it is ours to share and manage well. She wrote her first song at age 11 and went on to open for such acts as John Denver and Steve Martin, produce over a dozen solo albums, and perform at Carnegie Hall. She's known for her musical gifts, among many other "Amazing Things"—and she is no stranger to grief. After losing several members of her immediate family, inspirational singer/songwriter Megon McDonough joins host Chaz Wesley on the journey, From Grief To Grace, to share how grace allowed her to move through the autumn leaves of life and behold the tree that still stands.
Happy Holy Week! As we symbolically ponder this last week of Jesus of Nazareth's physical life, there are many insights to embrace. A question to ask ourselves is: What could be reborn (freed) in me if I let my fears, doubts, and worries die? Megon McDonough, songwriter/performer extraordinaire and the cowriter of the hit transformational song "Amazing Things," will guide us into and out of that question.
This is a song from my newest Facebook friend and old friend Megan (now Megon) McDonough from Crystal Lake, IL. Enjoy.
