When tackling an important project, it is natural to want to divide all the tasks fairly, so everyone shares the responsibilities and weight of the job. However, in this program, Chip Ingram cautions that while that strategy may be successful in the workplace, it often causes stress, burnout, and resentment at home. Hear what God's Word says about an all-in partnership with your spouse, that is deeply rewarding and life-giving.Fighting lies with truthLie #6:Marriage is a 50-50 proposition. As long as everyone does their part everything will be okay. The truth:Marriage is a 100%-100% proposition. It is an UNCONDITIONAL commitment to an imperfect person. It's giving the other person what they need the MOST, when they DESERVE it the least, at great PERSONAL COST.Key verse:John 13:34-35Lie #7:Marriage shouldn't be this difficult. No matter how hard I work it seems like we always have issues to work through. I really wonder if it's worth it.The truth:Everything of great value requires COMMITMENT, SACRIFICE, and PERSEVERANCE. As my spouse and I face challenges and overcome them, our intimacy and joy will far outweigh our present problems.Key verse:Galatians 6:9Lie #8:I've tried hard to make this marriage work, but it's too far gone. God wants me to be happy and I know He'll understand if I get a divorce. The truth:God HATES divorce. No marriage is beyond repair. If Jesus can raise the dead, He can certainly RESURRECT my marriage.Key verse:Malachi 2:16Broadcast ResourceDownload Free MP3Message NotesAdditional Resource MentionsMarriage Truth Cards Offer"Uninvited Guests" ResourcesConnect888-333-6003WebsiteChip Ingram AppInstagramFacebookTwitterPartner With UsDonate Online888-333-6003

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued with our weekly theme of “Killing Sin” with a discussion about how to partner with God in daily struggles, such as reviving our prayer life and decluttering. Dr. Bill (William) Thrasher joined us to discuss how to intentionally involve God in eradicating sin from our lives through prayer in the Spirit. Dr. Thrasher has served on the Moody Bible Institute faculty since 1980 and is currently the Lead Professor in the Master’s Program in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship. He is also a frequent speaker and has authored several books, including “How to Resurrect a Dead Prayer Life.” We then had Kathi Lipp join us to discuss how to break through the shame of living in clutter with God. Kathi is an author, speaker, blogger, and podcast host of Clutter Free Academy, the Podcast. Kathi is an expert and well-respected on the topics of overcoming clutter from a biblical perspective. She has also authored several books, including “Clutter Free”. Then, Ethan Forhertz joined us to provide an update on the need for support in Central Texas following one of the most severe flooding events in the U.S. during the Fourth of July weekend. Canterbury Museum's Senior Curator of Natural History Paul Scofield says it's a great eco-tourism opportunity. He told Heather du Plessis-Allan people could come and see Moa roaming the hills in a reserve. Scofield says scientists would also be able to see how these birds affected the ecology of New Zealand. In this episode of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast, Mary Kay Cabot and Dan Labbe discuss Diontae Johnson's recent appearance on a podcast, where he reflected on his tumultuous past year in the NFL. They explore the implications of his admission of humility, the red flags in his behavior with previous teams, and the opportunities that lie ahead with the Browns. The conversation also touches on the dynamics of the quarterback competition, roster changes, and insights into the upcoming training camp. Takeaways Diontae Johnson admitted to being humbled. His past behavior raised red flags about his attitude and commitment. Johnson's performance in Carolina showed potential but was marred by attitude issues. Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off our “going under the hood” weekly theme with a discussion about the unseen spiritual disciplines that cultivate our spiritual lives. Spiritual disciplines are practices that grow and deepen our spiritual lives, such as prayer, fasting, or quiet time with the Lord. What is an unseen discipline that is most beneficial to your spiritual life? We had a few of our listeners answer this question and share their stories. We also had Dr. Ronnie Floyd join us to speak on the importance of fasting. Dr. Floyd is a speaker, author, and encourager dedicated to helping others, committed to the next generation, and empowering leaders. He is also the host of the weekly podcast called “For Leaders Podcast with Ronnie Floyd.” Dr. Bill Thrasher also joined us to provide insight into finding delight in our prayer life. Day 560 - Israeli scientists resurrect biblical date palm

The Times of Israel Daily Briefing

Welcome to a bonus episode of The Times of Israel's newest podcast series, Friday Focus. Each Friday, join diplomatic reporter Lazar Berman and host deputy editor Amanda Borschel-Dan for a deep dive into what's behind the news that spins the globe. In today's episode, environment reporter Sue Surkes makes a guest appearance, stepping in for Berman. This is a week of spring holidays, and so we are dedicating the program to some of the biblical flora of the Land of Israel. In honor of Easter, which is celebrated by much of Christendom on Sunday, we begin with a date palm that was brought back from the dead and a plant that resurrects itself. In 2008, Dr. Elaine Solowey germinated a 1,900-year-old date palm seed that took the name Methuselah after the long-lived biblical character. She has since gone on to revive several more ancient seeds, including females that bear fruit. Surkes tells the story of Solowey's amazing success -- and describes how the dates taste. Next, we hear about the Rose of Jericho, which was named for the biblical city of Jericho that constantly rose from its ashes -- and still stands today. It's an extraordinary story of a plant surviving in the harshest of circumstances. We then turn to a tree that is called the Christ-thorn jujube (shezaf). Traditionally, this type of tree was used to create the thorny crown that Jesus wore on his last journey down the Via Dolorosa. Surkes then speaks about the olive tree -- both the last few remaining "wild" variety located near Atlit, and the cultivated variety. She turns to Psalm 128 to show how being acquainted with the flora of the Land of Israel gives a deeper meaning to the text. And finally, we speculate on the Garden of Eden's "forbidden fruit." Was it an apple? Or maybe a fig? Friday Focus can be found on all podcast platforms. This episode was produced by the Pod-Waves and the video was edited by Thomas Girsch. IMAGE: Dates harvested from 'Hannah,' the first female palm tree germinated from 2,000 year-old seeds discovered in the Judean desert, are displayed in Kibbutz Ketura in southern Israel, on September 27, 2021. Celebrating our fifth season of the Suebiquitous Podcast with host Sue Duffield, starts with a newness of heart, mind, soul and body. Revivify, the word, means "to bring new life" to something that is dead or in need of a resurrection.  One of the Bible's most incredible statements is "..that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead now lives in us.." (Romans 8:11). Just that message alone should ignite whatever is dead in you, to come alive. Take a few minutes after listening to this episode and ask yourself these questions: What's in my life that has become stagnant, dry, or even dead? How do I even know if I'm "dead" to the Living Word? What are the things that keep me dead, isolated or out of contact with the Holy Spirit? Know this: It's a simple as asking. Then take your stand for Christ and get those bones moving! Matthew 18: 19-20 reminds us, “If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” www.sueduffield.com "Revive Us Again", by Jeff & Sue Duffield/Hymphonic Album BMI ©2012 Available on iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify and YouTube
